I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling psyched about the game at the moment. From what I understand (disclaimer: 75+ hrs in, only one dungeon down), it sounds like more advanced combat techniques become more useful or required in the endgame. They are taught to you in a shrine adjacent to a populated area, I'm not sure if you've encountered them yet. We've personally barely utilized them though it's probably a good idea to get used to those mechanics. But regardless, the combat can be more sophisticated in the meantime if you wish it to be by utilizing runes in combination with environmental conditions and weapons. Finding creative ways to take out the more powerful enemies, to stop them from one-shotting you (except the Guardians, which for all intents and purposes require certain methods of defeat) is part of the fun. What aren't you liking about the map? And, if it's any consolation, there are some very, very clever shrines out there waiting to be found, and, we personally have only encountered two with motion controls. No idea how many there are, but by no means the majority of them. (Granted, we haven't been too focused on shrines, so we haven't done that many more than you of those.)
