Final Beast down, FINALLY got the Gerudo Tower and I'm sitting at 97 shrines. I'm sure I'll be able to pick around 10 or so between high and low Gerudo, but the others are going to be harsh!

Urbosa's Fury is pretty sweet.

So end game question.
If you don't fight the GanonBlights, when fighting Calamity Ganob, do you have to fight the 4 elements on top of it? Yes or n. I'm worried/sad if it's boss fights I'm gonna end up missibg

Just spent like one hour just roaming all around death mountain, mining gems, climbing every peak then gliding down to the next against the wind... marvelous, i really love this game sense of scale and exploration, it's really unlike any other game I've ever played.

And seriously, I might be alone in this, but I really am impressed with the graphics of this game sometimes. It may not have the most complex geometry, the best textures or the best shadows but, somehow, it has given me some of the most beautiful moments I've had with a game.

Also, I didn't get the name but I came across the best shrine yet, super long and creative with even some challenging parts.

If I have any complaints about the game is that I think the puzzles in the shrines could've been harder.

I wish hard mode DLC would involve redoing the shrines to more difficult puzzles, that'd be awesome.

Last day of March. I literally don't remember anything about this month other than playing this fucking game.

Same here. 100 hours of my life wast...Obliterated in the best possible way I mean. Literally 99% of my free time has been spent with this game.

Also from someone that quit MGS:TPP out of frustration after several hours, the Pilgrimage mission was a cake walk. Take your time and make sure not to lose sight and learn to use your damn bow.

Trying to do the shrine that requires a Blood Moon... shouldn't have restarted my game. I had a session suspended where I got a Blood Moon constantly. Now I'm lighting fires and skipping to night after night.

I'm afraid to leave because if I get a Blood Moon while I'm not looking for one I probably won't notice it until it's too late to get back.

Skip to day and talk to the guy that knows about moons?

Speaking of stealth missions, you know what's bullshit?

The "banana assassins" mission. I can't believe how many times I had to restart it because I got spotted by the big guys in the last rooms and how powerful they are. Granted, I had 3 hearts, but still, so hard and frustrating.

I JUST did that, and I got frustrated and slaughtered all the big instant-kill swordsmen with Ancient Arrows. It worked.

I can't remember the last time a game gave me the kind of agency to create my own experience that this one does. Oh wait that's because none ever have.

Constant looking-around-wishing-someone-else-had-just-seen-that-shit moments. Capture button should have been video because of this game. Missed op.

Finished all side quests, shortly after finishing all shrines and
fully upgrading the Wild armor set. Ready to play that DLC in the classic outfit!
. Won't be getting all the Korok seeds (in fact I have only 70), so this is it, for now.

One of the last sidequests I did was the
love letter in Zora's domain
. Cute and fun one to end on.

But even better: the very last sidequest I did was the
final Kass song, Hero's Cache.
After which I
warped to Rito as I'd heard he'd show up there after completing all his songs.

Wow, that was a great way to end my time with the game! From the
song referencing the classic Zelda theme
to the revelations about
Revali (no pun intended) -- both why he disliked Link and the fact that he's decided to help him regardless by passing on the songs, completely salvaging what was a bit of an annoying character
this may be my favorite twist/side story in the entire game.

So yeah. Seek out the ancient songs, people.

Does anyone remember how to get to this shrine northwest of
Rito Village
, in a
lake, at the end of a pier, you see it through a crack in the mountain wall.

I bombed a nearby rock and it gave me a updraft, and above there was a rock with a korok seed, but I cant see anyway to get in. This damn snowstorm and playing portable doesnt help either.

Help?

The entrance is
a hole in the cliffside very high up. Glide around with the updrafts and you should be able to find it.

Yes, though I think you're misunderstanding?

You can just do a quick straight to Ganon replay after you finish the game if you want to see for yourself.

That one I actually thought was fun.
The area was a cool change of pace interior setting, and the banana thing was funny. I also like the last room with the false wall and a chest with some random useless thing in it. Probably bananas.

With all the hate for stealth sections, anyone remember that Aonuma said that he'd love to do a game where you live as a thief for a new IP? It'll be interesting to see how that works out.

Its a instakill regardless of health anyways.

Weird that so many folks have had trouble with the infamous stealth mission. I thought it was campy fun. The amount of visual cues is just bananas.

There are so many ways to clear it w/o much trouble that yeah, I don't get it either.

The animation and sound when the
guards spot bananas are hilarious
. Plus, iirc if you sneakstrike them you kill them in one hit (I THINK, or maybe I was just OP.)

Easily my least favorite mission in the game.

Oh damn, using the little stand on the switch and the controller is the real way to play it portable :o

Definitely, I've mentioned that a few times. Let's just hope video sharing is in in time for the DLC, I guess then a mot of us will be playing the game again and will be able to share a lot of crazy shit.

Guardian Arrows. It was super easy to fight them, but I was packing those because I had a decent amount of cash.

I didn't know they kill you in one hit tho, guess I was lucky to be packing heat

Watching my almost five year old niece (edit six, oops, bad uncle). I decided to pause the game while I prepared her a little snack before bedtime (she passed on supper because she wasn't hungry, but she'll totally kill a little pizza now). I come back to the living room and she's totally destroying a big giant guy that killed me three times before I decided to take a break.

I think I'm gonna put her in charge.

Man I wasted so many ancient arrows on guardians when I could have just parried and used that super legendary sword that is awesome. I only got the parry timing down recently after letting lasers shred many shields when I was late.

Man these gears are so rare, its going to take me ages to farm guardians to upgrade the gear :/

At least I kinda have the reflect down half the time now

Damn, I wanted to see how far I could ride a
bear
through
Hyrule Castle
, but there's a blockade of goop on the path that's impassable, and it refuses to go inside. Oh well. Screenshot to commemorate the attempt:

Just finished the Goron beast and I loved absolutely every single moment of it. And I mean every moment from my fist step on Death mountain and everything leading up to the beast. The dungeon itself was just tremendous and boss was fun. Oh, and I loved the dungeon music.

This games sense of scale and verticality is nothing short of amazing. This really shines on Death mountain, which truly feels like a mountain this time. I mean there are lakes, springs, caves, tunnels and mines all over the place. And a big dungeon climbing it's slopes to top it all of. And then you take out your glider and return gracefully to the green world below while soaking in the vistas of an entire kingdom. This game man. This game.

A little anecdotal, but somewhat related to your awesome story.....but this game will probably go down in my memory as being the best gaming experience of my life. My almost-3-year-old asks to watch "Wink" (Link), and I played BOTW to pass time while my wife was at the hospital before our son was born.

Beating Fireblight Ganon while sitting beside my wife as she waited for our son is etched in my mind forever. I'm so grateful Nintendo made this game so I can tell my kids how important it was to our family.

Quoting myself here but after searching for opinions on this online, I have to ask: am I the only one who thought the master Kass speaks of is
...Revali....
? Seemed obvious to me, but I guess I could be wrong.

I cannot find this damn sunshroom behind the lab!

It's not in my inventory, so I don’t think it's picked. Wtf? I even slept in the Inn to try and get it to grow.

Also what's the difference with the beds in the Inn?

Actually...
there's an eye on the opposite side of the goop, destroy it and the path will be cleared. There are 3 of these goop blockades iirc, but all can be cleared

I'm going to be tackling that dungeon soon, today I just went exploring death mountain and did a whole lap around it, climbing up and down, discovering stuff, mining tons of gems, gliding off to the next point... all with the amazing backdrop with the volcano and the divide beast roaming around it. Just incredible, no other game world has impressed me as much as this.

You get some benefits if you sleep on the more expensive bed
.

Yea, games like this only seem to come once a generation. Nintendo pulled off a real win ending the Wii U and starting the Switch with it. This game makes me feel like a kid again.

Beat Divine beast Rutania. I think that was the best divine beast of the lot in terms of dungeon design but Naboris still has the best boss of the lot.

Also found and obtained the master sword. Tommorow I have a date with ganon

Weird. I'd try turning on Stasis to make objects you can pick up stand out.

Finally get to play again tonight. I guess I'll finish up Eventide. Then I want to see if I can lift guardian husks with octoballoons. Thought just crossed my mind.

Can you keep multiple save files by saving manually? As in having a second playthrough and not delete the first one?

Considering all the manual saves are still up...

Down to my last 15 shrines and I decided to use a guide to get them done quickly. After I looked up one of them I instantly regretted it. I wish I didnt look it up and I will try my best to avoid looking at a guide for the remaining 14.

I took a day off yesterday and my session today felt like the first 30 hours. I just loved exploring for the sake of exploring. So many canyons and areas I havent touched yet. Little clues leading to treasure or amazing shieldboarding courses. I love this game.

I'm guessing it's my fault actually. Instead of motions it's really just small tilts to the controller
Actually I wasn't a huge fan of these. I used tiny movements, too. A couple of them I found frustrating
(tilt maze and one of the mini-golf ones.)

So isbthe last fairy anyware near the
goron
area by any chance? Because thats the one zone I havent been to. If not im stumped.

Pretty sure autosaves will overwrite the manual ones eventually. You can create a new profile though.

I turned the shrine sensor on for the last 15 or so but it eventually didn't help much, I had to break and use a guide for the last 5. I would have never found atleast 2 of them, lol.
