Can't believe this game was speed run in under 44 minutes without any glitches.

People have a weird definition of glitches. The runs I've seen are pretty stylish so far, but you really want to argue whistle-sprinting, the way they immediately re-mount horses that have shaken them off, negate fall damage, stunlock Ganon, and in the latest speedrun I saw, cause the final area to only half load for less lag not glitches? Just because you can't obviously see them teleporting around doesn't make them not glitches.

Not that I think glitches matter. If glitchless runs really are done, how do they quantify them? Must be more laborious thinking up what is arbitrarily a glitch and not a glitch.

Damn I love this game so much. I can't stop exploring, and I keep accidentally finding crazy shit to do.

I just surfed on my shield through a hilly valley, and was then batted like a baseball by a giant up onto a mountain ridge, where I found a shrine. I can't believe Nintendo of all companies made this open world.

Beat the game today. I had about 115 shrines / 265 korok seeds on my own, but used a guide to get the last 5 shrines before attempting Ganon.

Damn, what a great game.

The Lost Pilgrimage is one of the worst fucking things I've ever seen in a videogame. I can't believe that it exists in this masterfully crafted game.

Man the hyperbole about this mission, I had to look it up and saw Kotaku had an article calling it a dumpster fire.

Crouch down and stay back. He saw me after I killed the wolf, it made me restart and the wolf isn't even there the second time.

So I wanted to do the Goron Divine beast quest. Got the armour, though I'm going to upgrade it. Went out to gather the material I needed. Played for 10 hours, did everything BUT gathering the materials. Found shrines, did side quests, got new gear, but didn't get any closer on completing the Goron quest. I can't with this game. It's too much. :P

I did it first time and i went in blind with no prior knowledge - i really don't get the complaints. Just do what you do in typical situations like this. Stay far back, keep your eye on the prize, move behind cover and always expect them to turn round or back on themselves at least once. The wolf caught me off guard for a split second but i one shot it with my bow from behind a tree almost as soon as i saw it.

only 8 shrines left for me (and 600 korok seed :P)
still trying to find them without using a guide, but at this point i'm kind of running in circles...

Wat? It's a pretty standard trailing mission, except thanks to Koroks being utterly adorable it actually has a bit of charm to it.

It's probably the best trailing mission I've played for the reason above, and because
the foggy, mysterious atmosphere in the Lost Woods
makes for such a good location for a mission like that. You really need to keep an eye on him as the fog and the tall grass easily camouflages him.

I beat that bit first try, no prior knowledge. I thought people were talking about some other quest I hadn't encountered.

I don't know of the Sheika armor helped any, but is certainly didn't hurt. Did same as you - just kept my distance and picked off the wolf when it popped up suddenly (I had figured I'd have to fight off something at some point, so I was ready). The main challenge was really just being able to see him through the tall grass, but that's why I found it a unique challenge, like spotting someone in camo in a forest.

I just inherently hate missions where I have to slowly follow somebody around without being noticed, and if I fail I have to start from scratch. They're just not very fun in the first place imo.

Made worse by:

-How hard he is to see in the fog + grass
-Playing in handheld mode (to minimize the forest frame drops) makes it harder to see him still
-The fog can auto-restart you if you cross the invisible boundary

This North LomeibLabyrinth is doing my head in. What am I missing here?

I feel "make it past the maze" is a trick phrase. Like, do I just ignore the maze and...walk past it?

This. Seriously.

I read that Kotaku article on it that completely bashed it, and towards the end he writes:

My boss Stephen Totilo tells me that he beat it on his first try by skirting the trees and being careful, which, wow, okay.

Yeah, holy shit, dude. Turns out being careful and using the environment to hide properly in a stealth mission actually works. Wow!

My switch finally displays time olayed but it just says "50 hours or more", its not even accurate?

Does it do increments of 10 or something?

Yeah. I also had my "Stasis view" on in hopes that he'd turn yellow or something. He didn't, but the yellow overlay made it easier to see him.

It is a trash mission. You can improve the sight by going into stasis/magneto mode, it will outline the little guy. I eventually just skipped the entire thing because I memorized the path doing it so many times and just ran to the shrine. Only bigger fuck you to the player than bullshit stealth systems is "have fun waiting for it to stop raining while you're trying to climb something".

Trying to do the shrine that requires a Blood Moon... shouldn't have restarted my game. I had a session suspended where I got a Blood Moon constantly. Now I'm lighting fires and skipping to night after night.

I'm afraid to leave because if I get a Blood Moon while I'm not looking for one I probably won't notice it until it's too late to get back.

Is korok forest
a place you'll inevitably discover during the story quests or is it something you have to stumble upon
?
Really want to increase my inventory
.

Played for a few minutes on wiiu to test the update. Bit smoother, bit more pop-in.

Been too hooked on snake pass to go back to zelda properly atm, might have gotten my fill for now and come back to it later.

no idea why you people had that many problems with the stalking mission..i didi it no problem and i suck hard at stealth

Go kill a Hinox or Lynel or something big, that should trigger it. The game doesn't like leaving world bosses dead.

Allso using magnetic or stasis helps a lot to see trough the grass and fog.

You run into the guy to start the chain on the way to Kakariko Village early on. However if you go the long way around it's possible to completely miss him, like I did until after I had finished two ancients...

no main story part will bring you there other than the quest
to find the master sword
, and even then you have to go there yourself after collecting gossip around the world about it,no icon will pop up indicating the place.

if you want a general locaton in the map it's

just directly north of hyrule castle

but if you reveal all the map and check it,there are really just 2 places that are the big suspects,so you can find it with this method too.

Well I explained my issues lol.

My biggest issue is that even if I beat it the first time no problems it wasn't exactly fun. And it just went from not fun to very not fun with each repetition.

You
basically have to stumble upon it, it doesn't become part of the story until you find it yourself. I mean, there's people talking about it in certain areas so you'll certainly get hints as to where it's at. But personally I didn't find it until I was 60 hours into the game, because I hadn't explored that section of the world.

You mean the
big dude with the maracas? Yeah I met him but I don't remember beginning a quest chain after helping him initially.
I'll check my log, maybe i missed something--

Ah ok. Thanks for the responses, I guess I'll just wander around for a bit.

You just need to find him based on his hints. There isn't gonna be a quest marker.

Last day of March. I literally don't remember anything about this month other than playing this fucking game.

I remember it arriving in the mail and me staring at it intently waiting for my Switch to arrive.

lt's not that it was hard, it was just not fun. Lost Woods in general was a disappointment because the fog mechanics were reminiscent of the old walled off level design of previous Zelda games, in contrast to the entirely open nature of the rest of the game. Plus l hate koroks, moreso in this game where they make these awful cutesy ugugu noises.

Does anyone remember how to get to this shrine northwest of
Rito Village
, in a
lake, at the end of a pier, you see it through a crack in the mountain wall.

I bombed a nearby rock and it gave me a updraft, and above there was a rock with a korok seed, but I cant see anyway to get in. This damn snowstorm and playing portable doesnt help either.

Help?

There's an entrance
somewhere high above it along the river.
