NieR: Automata Spoiler Thread

i still didn't finish the mission where i must have 95% of unit data and exchange info with 4S
i think i fought every enemy in the game,but still have 91% of data.

is there a hidden characters?

You can do that fight as 2B as well, so put her on that list too.

I really liked that quest, probably some of my favorite writing in the game, but I wish they had done more with the fight itself than just reskinning the desert centipede boss fight from A2's route.

Wonder why the game is named nier besides for marketing.

First game Mc was default name nier I think. Which is already a strange name for a dude living in Tokyo?

What is nier even from, name wise?

Do replicants have the same name as their original counterparts? Was the shadowlord named Nier?

Yes to both, but my response regarding the first point is assuming consistency since Nier and Yonah retain their names. I would think it's important that Replicants retain many core elements of their origin (such as their names) to smooth the Gestalt integration process out.

I was wondering the same thing. Aside from the fact that it's the same universe and the first game is very important for shaping the world of this game, I don't know.

I don't know about the origins of the name either.

Whether or not it launches probably means more for whatever planet that would eventually get invaded by a race of hyper-Darwinian murder bots than it does for Earth.

I guess the real question how much of a disruption to the normal cycle of war is the tower? It was stated that the tower was originally designed to shoot the android's moon base, but obviously that hasn't happened before. So was it only recently with the creation of Adam and Eve that they changed the idea to firing the ark? If this is the first time they've tried to fire the ark, is this also the first time they've deployed the resource gatherers? How much of an impact does that have on the machine forces? And most importantly what does it mean for the war going forward now that the machine database has fractured personalities?

there's the robot statue at the park, the golden robots, the tank at the park, all the pacifists machines at the village (like the sisters, the giant on down on the lowest level), emil, the forest kind guard
and the rare red ones

Just a question , is there any clue of the resistance or earth remaining androids origin ? Are they just androids leftover like Devola/Popola ?

There are androids all over the world self perpetuating on their own the way the machines are capable of. YoRHA are a very specific and relatively new subfaction of androids that have recently gone into production and deployment.
 
Whatever we pick for the new OT title for OT2, it definitely has to be something along the lines of telling people not to harp over the word "ending" lmao

Ya I know but did it get explained where did they came from ? Are they created by Emil to fight the aliens ? or created by humans to govern Project Gestalt . I think it's the latter .

The Devola and Popala models are the models that specifically oversaw Project Gestalt. I believe the bulk of androids we see are remnants of / decedents of the ones created to fight the Legion alongside the Replicants. There may have been some Replicants left when the aliens invaded to produce some of the android resistance.

I'm doing another playthrough of the game and already noticing things I hadn't noticed before.

OT2: It's not over until it's over 5 times.
OT2: The fish ending is canon.
OT2: It's not over until the dev team sings.

That was a great stream. The VA's of 9S and 2B seem like really lovely people. Gave me the feels when they started thanking everyone at the end.
 
2B's memory after A2's fight with the balls boss almost outright says that 2B isn't her usual name but she'll be called it for the time being, and that she is supposed to "Dispatch" with *something*. I called it right then and there that she was an E model after remembering all the other hints too.

9S: Oh you mean 2B?
Anemone: Uhh... yes. We've heard from YoRHa to be expecting you.

Now... is she commenting 2B's uncanny resemblance to A2, or is 9S the 2nd 9S she's met?
 
Going into this game I was not expecting it to be a love story. Probably due to 9S design but at the beginning I was like "they better not ship 9S and 2B" and then by the end " I was crying for them to be together".

its very obvious that was a foreshadowing of how 2B is based on A2.

The executioner who fell in love with her mark but must constantly kill him in order to stay close to him.

The mark who fell in love with his executioner despite his growing resentment for his deaths.

There are a bunch with low appearance rates and only in specific areas. There are a couple in the factory that are really easy to miss, one because it's in a fairly hidden area, and another because it shows up so rarely. I'd just consult a guide if I were you.

I just want you to know that when she is fighting Adam, 9s is being NTR'd.
