the sad thing is he is so far up his own ass he probably really believes he has "just and loving" views, and him being fired over this will likely only harden his toxic views of people of different faiths. but i guess it doesn't matter when the brainwash was so strong from the outset... he was a lost cause

one more shitstain on society cleansed. perhaps a young, aspiring, and truly tolerant muslim artist might take his place
 
Nothing of value was lost. Marvel will be fine without him (eventually once they sort out the mess they have made of themselves over the last few years), and this hateful piece of trash will be forgotten. Good riddance, bigot.

An editor should have caught the bit with Colossus' shirt. It's prominent, clearly some type of code that's not consistent with a baseball uniform, and definitely not in the script.

Even if the editor didn't catch the reference, it's something that should have been checked and retouched.

It's the sort of thing you should check. Without knowing anything about anything, I could tell the two numbers separated by a colon usually indicate chapter and verse.

And if it referred to Quicksilver, it's oddly placed on Colossus' baseball uniform.

It's really small. At a quick glance you could mistake it for a jersey. It's not often an editor has to worry about a biblical verse.

Then again the X-Men do have a history of having stories reflect the bible but it's usually not trying to be hidden and not anti-semitic.

Not sure why you're stuck on this. It's prominent, and definitely curious. It should have been flagged.

Editors worry about everything in their books: art, story, lettering, the whole megillah.

Marvel editors weren't on their A game. This wouldn't be the first time an error pass them by but unlike past errors this one was tricky to catch. Let's keep in mind it took someone from Indonesia to catch this.
 
MARVEL TERMINATES X-MEN GOLD ARTIST'S CONTRACT FOLLOWING CONTROVERSY

Following a major controversy over highly charged political and religious messages hidden within "X-Men Gold" #1, Marvel has officially announced that Ardian Syaf is no longer that series' artist as his contract with the company has been terminated, "effective immediately."

Due to the fact that the next two issues of the twice-monthly series has already been sent to the printer, Syaf's art will continue to be seen in "X-Men Gold" #2 and "X-Men Gold" #3. R.B. Silva will draw "X-Men Gold" #4, #5 and #6 — issue #4 was originally solicited with art by Syaf — and Ken Lashley will illustrate "X-Men Gold" #7, #8 and #9. There's no word yet on if the shipping schedule of future issues will be affected.

The original plan for the series was for Syaf to act as lead artist, with Silva and Lashley also rotating on the book. . Marvel has stated that a replacement for Syaf on "X-Men Gold" will be named in the near future.

Marvel's statement, released to CBR, reads in full:

"Marvel has terminated Ardian Syaf's contract effective immediately. ‘X-Men Gold' #2 and #3 featuring his work have already been sent to the printer and will continue to ship bi-weekly. Issues #4, #5, and #6 will be drawn by R. B. Silva and issues #7, #8, and #9 will be drawn by Ken Lashley. A permanent replacement artist will be assigned to ‘X-Men Gold' in the coming weeks."

Yeah, I was curious about that. My best friend growing up is a Muslim but also a very talented artist. He married a woman with very conservative extremist views and is now no longer able to draw to his full potential since humans are off limits. I was surprised this guy has no issue with it, knowing his other views.

Not so sure about that. Anies is leading. In the first round the 'anti-Ahok' voters were divided over two other candidates, in this new round they will be united and all vote for Anies.

I still hope Ahok wins, but I think all these months of filthy black campaigning, ridiculous 'blasphemy' trials and all, have diminished his chances.

A shame. He was a great governor, best Jakarta ever had. City has made so much progress. But hey... he's Christian and Chinese...can't have that now can we.
