Nintendo Direct on April 12 (3PM PT, Switch/3DS, mainly Splarms)

If it's up on the Russian site for ordering I'm inclined to believe it is real. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the box is just a poor mock up. Nintendo's packaging and branding with Switch has been on point.

The cart box protrudes from the rest of the box

I would assume that is just a render showing the game's case. It protrudes from the box because it's not actually part of the box. Or it's fake, idk. I already have a Switch and I'm in day 1 for MK8D so whatevs.

I'm just super geeked that I might see new Arms characters today.

I'm looking forward to this Direct, I don't expect any new games to be revealed, but that's fine since it keeps my expectations in check. Wouldn't want to be one of those negative nancies that always post a certain Malcom in the middle picture after every Direct :v

Box art looks odd - Might be my eyes but the joy con grip image looks slightly squashed. and seems to be a pretty good cut and drop job.

Also Mario and the rest of the carts would be on the box it self too. Underneath the game cart would be just further rainbow road track.

If theres a MK8 bundle already we better be getting that shit free unless its 359.99

What if it's $350? Will you riot?

It's really improbable it'll be $300, and if so, it would be a giant slap in the face to early adopters at this stage. I fully believe it'll be $350.
Then still wtf i bought it at full price and thats an effective price cut a month later
Okay, you do you, but I can't be bothered by $10. If it were a larger cut, I would be a bit annoyed, but not for an effective $10.

It will most likely cost just about the same as the system + separate game, assuming this is real. I don't see them giving big discounts this early for a bundle. This just pretty much guarantees a MK8D sale for every Switch purchase.

If its not 350, as someone who stood in line for one on launch day, im gonna be pissed. Thats bullshit if they just waited a few months to do a pack in.

They're not going to essentially give Mario Kart 8 for free. Come on guys. The bundle, if real, will be like 50 more than normal, essentially a 10 saving on the game, much like most bundles

That bundle looks bad (design wise), but I'll laugh my ass off if true. That's the risk you take for being an early adopter I guess.

At least you guys weren't forced to buy 1-2 Switch at launch. That's the only bundle available for us SEA bros. I have two copies of that game (fully sealed) and no idea what to do with them. No one wants that game, especially at full price.

Its the principle of the $10. I supported Nintendo day 1 and would be losing out for it. Its not that huge of a deal that ill be "rioting" but id certainly feel duped. A month in is way too soon

Yeah its gotta be higher price...

Just use Amazon Prime or Best Buy GCU. Then you're on the exact same level as someone buying that bundle.

Not the same.

Most Directs are around 35-40 minutes :) People underestimate the amount of content that can be wedged in. Granted, we'll be losing like 20 minutes exclusively to Splatoon/ARMS, but we often had 7+ minute segments on some games.

I'm expecting this Direct to be pushing 50 minutes

That is true actually, it's mostly just the E3 streams that stretch above 40 minutes.

I don't really see this being $299... That's honestly the only scenario in which I think day one buyers would be annoyed.

Not the same.

Okay, it's a fair stance to have. My personal stance is that the $10 difference is due to the rounding to make the price an attractive round multiple of $50, as most gaming console hardware adheres to, and as such I don't care too much about it.

How long until the Direct?
6 hours and 23 minutes.

Have people always been this entitled or is this a recent development?

This is a free market, every consumer is entitled. Even stores have price reduction guarantees, thats how ridiculous it is to drop the price after only a month. Its basically an admission that they could have launched cheaper, and that the launch price was improperly calculated. On the 3ds they were actually forced to cut the price to sell more and they still apologized and created the ambassador program because they wanted to reinforce that it was worth buying at its initial price. I can cope with $10 because of GCU/Prime but if you dont get the problem with this then its not so much that we are entitled as much as you are willing to be price gouged in the name of not being entitled.

Price gouged...

$10...

Pay an extra $10, get the system a couple months early... Yeah, this is a MASSIVE screw job...

Assuming its $350 and not $299

And the system came out 1 month ago but ok

I guess you guys would be ok with a launch in march and price cut in april not me

$10...

Price gouged...

$10...

What?

Im saying its not a big deal because its only $10. But even then you dont care about $10? Just cuz you consider it small change doesnt make it not price gouging
