We don't even know the price of the bundle yet, much less if the US is receiving it. It's not worth flipping out over yet.

I understand being a bit irked but to be this upset is not warranted imo, we all know what the early adopter experience is about.

The whole thing started because i said if its under 359.99 its bullshit and then the conversation spawned from there

If this thing was $299 (which is what my concern was on first impression) it would be a $50 effective price cut.

If the "price cut" is $10, and I'm expected to be upset, my apologies. The entire industry, nay, most industries, follow the basic idea that a bundle might net you a very minor price cut, and that if one waits, some amount of time after the launch of something, they can have it for less money that if they had bought it at the initial launch. What part of this seems aggregious to you?

And yes, I'd also dispute that a 2.5% fluctuation in price over time meets the notion of "gouging".

Yes there will always be complaints about paying more for something than someone else.

Nintendo needs to release bundle at $350 and cut the price of MK8D to $50. That is the only way we can all be happy.

I just don't consider it price gouging when there are options available to get the exact same pricing. If you were to buy most of your games via Amazon, waiting would actually cost more than $10 if you planned to buy other physical games outside of their two-week Prime discount window.

As for me personally, I do consider $10 to be significant when it comes to buying games. That's why I utilize Amazon Prime and Best Buy's GCU program to save at least that amount of new titles! =)

If you want to get really technical, go ahead and look up the definition of "price gouging" and ask yourself if it really fits in this scenario.

So far we have exactly one person. If he has a friend or two that feels the same way thats two or three! At that point I think Nintendo would need to do something. We're talking about a serious PR problem!

I dont want to get deep into the $10 scenario you guys are fixated on like its what im mad about. I understand it would be a bundle discount. If $10 to you is small change thats fine I disagree with your notion that 2.5% decrease after a month (just speaking as if the console was actually getting cut in price by that much, i also understand its not) wouldnt be a big deal. Definitely an indication that it was improperly priced at launch, not sure what industry youre looking at.

But anyways what would be so egregious is if its $299 and MK is a free bundled game. Because I paid $299 for the system a freaking month ago.

I gotta say its really frustrating that someone brought up a hypothetical $10 price cut to see if i would still be mad and now the entire argument is based on that, as if my entire concern was based on it and that im here complaining about $10.

And yes I understand it wouldnt literally be price gouging. No, I dont "really wanna get technical". My point is that launch price was not justified if a month later they drop it, thats the whole reason they did the first ambassador program.

If the bundle was $299 can you agree Id have reason to be reasonably irked? Or do you guys think im dying on the $10 hill and therefore my entire concern is laughable?

It's really frustrating to me when people feel like they can't make a point without hyperbolic statements.

Anyway, I definitely agree that the $299 price point would be annoying, because that's literally giving the game away for free. If that happens, I think just about every day one buyer would have a reason to be mad.

Even then, we're talking about giving away free software and not slashing the price on the hardware. The most people might expect there is to get a free copy of Mario Kart or some other game. The scenario you're imagining isn't quite the same as when Nintendo slashed the 3DS retail price.
 
I was starting to hope that Shakedown: Hawaii would be released after the Direct, but it sounds like that April date during the Nindies showcase was a little hopeful.

The Producer from Nintendo who handled the series, stated that Treasure was very difficult to work with. The sales were also never that strong. We are talking significantly lower than the forgotten B franchises fans clamor for... so yeah that seems doubtful.

Now a budget S&P 1-2 collection by NST or Tantalus.. who knows.
