Nintendo Direct on April 12 (3PM PT, Switch/3DS, mainly Splarms)

i think that was leaked as a result of someone talking about the games shown at the nyc event. i was kind of surprised to see it get out.

i wouldn't put stock into anything that's being passed around this time.

IIRC, it was out of one of the European events. I don't think it was much more than someone peaking behind the curtain.

The third boxboy game is already out in Europe and is called "bye bye boxboy". Since the leak mention the game, I suppose it is for a US release...but with a different name ? Yeah sure.

US releases do sometimes have different names from in EU. For example, Rhythm Heaven/Paradise.

Interesting, thank you. I won't put stock in them, then.

Thank you so much. If I missed anyone who went through the trouble of posting the details, thank you too.

NP. Take them with BOTW-sized chunks of rock salt, though!

Miitopia? Even Nintendo should know by now that nobody cares about Miis. Totally fake.

And the flying dungeon stuff is too good to be true and makes little sense. I mean if they put dungeons in the game, it would be the overworld which has so much free space for a couple of dungeons. Also they said only one dungeon and it comes at the end of the year.

I call bullshit.

Hmm. So a fee to move it from my Wii data into the Wii-U mode, then a fee to jump to the Switch... if it's cheaper than rebuying it and it has a future in what ever account system Nintendo makes... I would be fine with it.

Nintendo needs to get in the mindset that they are a service and maintain the profiles of their contributing customers.

Why would they charge an "upgrade" fee now if they won't in the future? I'm not buying shit on Nintendo digital accounts till this horrible practice is proven to be gone

80 VC games seems insane because Nintendo has been bad with VC. If they decided to be sane that is totally reasonable. It isnt goong to be 80 first party games.

Yeah there's no way that's happening after how poor it was on Wii U and 3DS.

I mean I believe you. But I also think they perhaps grasp how fucking bad it was on those systems and with one system to support going forward they wanna get a jump forward. The system is gonna have gaps. Release a chunk of VC and you solve a problem with content.

WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Hm? What?

Are you talking about the VC?

If true whats so woah about it? These are not even gamecube games, I suppose you already played these games countless of times before on Wii and 3DS VC. Nothing to whoa about.

Thanks, didn't know about it. But I don't really care either.

I know but Nintendo of A. already commented on "bye bye boxboy" not "boxboxboxboy good bye boxboy" and the long-ass title would be so hard to fit in the regular title layout used in this series. To me it is just a guy not knowing the game is already out in English and just trying to add some credibility to his bs by giving correct info about a game he assumes only released in Japan so far.

In my mind I could see it going like this. The switch is a fresh start for a modern account system, so a starting point for account holders to carry content forward from. Wii-U owners pay a discounted rate for existing and qualifying purchases that exist on their Wii-U account since it wasn't nor will be technically apart of the same account system going forward.

It saves players a little cash to import and it provides Nintendo one last payment from those hardcore players that they have milked with their old practices, while it encourages them to trust the new Nintendo accounts in the future.

But I'm just trying to imagine the least abrasive outcome on an already stretched thin dream.

I'll settle for a "Stars" reveal!
Pokemon Stars for switch with dlc to go to all other past regions.

*Just a wish not a rumor
Even if Pokémon Stars is real, I wouldn't really get your hopes up for that being announced in this Direct.

As I've mentioned before, the initial reveal would be more likely to happen in either a separate Pokémon Direct (like what happened with Sun/Moon) or as a trailer dropping out of the blue with a press release (like what happened with OR/AS).

Yeah I already know that, Im just having fun. If all they were gonna do was an ORAS style teaser in May they might as well throw it in this Direct! Especially if Stars is an enhanced SuMo port.

The Pokémon Company kinda goes to the beat of their own drum. I'd imagine that they would want as much of the spotlight to themselves as possible when/if Stars gets revealed.

Brace yourself. 3DS will remain a focus for Nintendo until the end of the year at the earliest.

It's not really a focus anymore for Nintendo from a development perspective.

The game's that are slated to come out this year will come out but otherwise it's just about making loads of money from the 3DS profit margins in the years to come. Which is the case for every console ever.

I wouldn't be surprised if Virtual Console, as a term, is abandoned here and they use the "Nintendo Classics" branding from the Mini NES instead.

The information about the online service doesn't even refer to the free games as Virtual Console titles, does it?

What?!
But I want Miitopia so much!!
I was even worried they wouldn't localize it due to low JP sales.
