So why is it Futaba gives herself the code name '
Navi
' as in presumably short for
navigation
.

And yet the English text calls her
Oracle
.

What the fuck is up with that?

I think I prefer
Oracle because of oracles being a part of ancient Egyptian culture to some extent.
Also it sounds cooler.

Now they have all these HD demons I'm sure the turn around for another game would be a lot quicker.

I'd hope the next game Persona/SMT or whatever would be built to take more advantage of the PS4.

To be honest this game still looks largely like a PS3 game. Which I am sure it is at heart.

So I really want to talk about the seriously mega huge late November spoilers do not click this if you don't know what I'm talking about.

That has to be one of the best executed twists I've ever seen in a video game. The game's nonexistent attempt to hide the fact that Akechi is the traitor is baffling thoughout the game. Like there's no way that Atlus would make a twist so obvious right? Well it turns out that isn't even the twist at all! It's actually that he was outsmarted by an insanely awesomely complex plan because your team had known he was sketchy for an entire month. AND it was because of a scene where 90% of the people playing (like me) didn't even realize that Akechi had heard Morgana speak. Not to mention the game completely mindfucks the player, tricking you into thinking you screwed up and got a bad ending before the big reveal. I've seen some stuff online with people stating "Akechi being a traitor isn't the twist" which is crazy to think about. It's a literal red herring plot twist.

The new "Adachi is the killer" has to be "Akechi was beaten by pancakes."

Went back into the first palace with the intention of clearing it this time, had no idea that
I would need to go outside again to trigger the boss fight
, really didn't want to use up another day to go back in. Oh well.

I think persona 6 will be faster.

part of the length of persona 5's development was them getting used to HD game design and thus why they made catherine.

I wouldn't be that surprised if persona 6 came out in 2020 or so as the ps5 is on the way.

Yeah, remember that P3 and P4 were only two years apart, primarily because P4 recycled a lot of P3's assets (most notably Personas and enemies, though I'd imagine the overall engine is mostly identical between the two as well.) They'll probably do a similar thing with P6.

That will be the case with every palace.
Some take even more days because of complications.

I mean, this is being brought up, but Persona 4 began development while Persona 3 was still in development (in its last legs). Do we really think Persona 6 is currently in development? Especially when new Persona remakes and spin-offs have been all but confirmed.

Do all my convo options have results that impact gameplay??

Nope.

In fact, I think most of the convo choices generate the same response no matter what you choose, which kinda sucks.

Edit: Might have an impact though when you reach the end part of the game. Don't really know for sure.

I know right, I caught on to that but the significance of it was kinda iffy until I reached the 6th dungeon, especially revealing was the scene where
Futaba pretends to be interested in his phone
.

September

So the school just funded a five day Hawaii vacation. Awfully nice of them. Although I guess Yusuke's school did too so maybe that's a thing. (Though they were going LA)

Sojiro mentions that he was glad he funded it for you. So it isn't funded entirely through the school.

Not really digging the 5th palace to be honest.
Quite boring design and hunting those ID cards has been annoying.
And apparently I'm not even half way through yet...

Anyone dislike ryuji? I thought he was okay in the beginning but all he wants is
fame, money, pussy, and to be a major dick to Mona
. I thought we addressed these problems in prior palaces. He barely contributes anything meaningful to the group and the things he says and does annoys me.

Palace 6 Question:

Considering that this is the casino where I get arrested, can I still run through the palace early, or is it something I should wait to do, since I get arrested after?

I've been avoiding the thread since I feel it's so easy to spoil yourself on the small fun moments since literally everyone is everywhere on the spectrum of days in the year

But to add on to the P6 talk I can't see the series sit out that long again. They know that this has been a slow burn of popularity for the series during all the P4 and it's side game releases.I'll say no more then 5 years for another one. I can see some actual noise coming from Atlus even as early as 2020 on the sequel.

Just beat palace 4 and man, what a ride that was. The boss fight is probably one of my favorites in the series. Still taking that all in and cant wait to continue this awesome game.

Yes, I do. Especially depending on the reasons for P5's delays. If it was technical issues then story, character design, and music for a prospective P6 could already have been in development during the last legs of P5's development.

Wow man the difficulty spike in
the third Palace is fucking real, the second one was a breeze in comparison. Fuck these Oni enemies without any elemental weakness

Yo don't be hating my bro.
He's a loud mouth idiot but I love him.

Why isn't the clinic doctor selling me all of her items on NG+?? I have her S.link item and it says that it unlocks all of her items.

edit: nvm. I just needed to unlock her s.link once

In Japanese her codename was
Navi
but they changed it in English and the subtitles match the English script not the original Japanese one.

I expect about 3-4 years (so 2-3 years about since release in Japan) with spinoff games for P5 in the meantime (and other media).

I suppose it's possible, but we'll have to see. A P5 designer responsible for DLC costume design said, earlier in the year, that she's working on costumes for characters in a new P Studio game right now. We'll surely be seeing P5 spin-offs (or of pre-P5 games) before the release of Persona 6, too, with some hints here and there like the DJ Taku Takahashi interview earlier in the year.

Personally I would expect 2018 to have 1-2 spinoffs, 1 more spinoff first half of 2019, and then P6 second half of 2019.

Or at least that would be what I think the target dates would be. Delays wouldn't be a surprise.

I'm so on the fence about this game. I was very into the GB Endurance Run of P4 for a while, and really wanted the game to grab me. I got Golden for the Vita and played it for like 5 hours. While I liked it, it just didn't click with me like I wanted.

I see a lot of people saying that P5 is "their" Persona game, and the one that really got them hooked. I want that to be me, but after P4 I'm very uncertain.

My main gripe with P4 was how I felt I was missing out on a bunch of stuff by having to balance the different social relationships etc. This seems to have an even greater sense of urgency, and that stuff just stresses me out.

When did they say this?

Trying to min max social stuff in your first real persona experience isnt worth the trouble. Just do what you like, you're never going to see everything anyways.

Some may disagree with me, but I'd say that if that's your main hang up, I say play the game using a guide, even if it's your first time through. That way you'd see almost everything and not have to stress about it.

There's a pretty good one on GameFaqs.

You would be miserable in P5.

Honestly consider going back to P3 if it's available to you. There is frankly much less to do in P3 so it's much easier to balance things out.

I feel you.
Personaly, I fel that I'm forced to do new game plus if I really want to enjoy the social link in general unless you just focus on your party members but even so I don't have time for Haru+Futaba, they came so late in game...

eh...
first playthough
max social stats, get lots of money ect.

second playthrough... see the rest of the game :P

it really shouldn't be that bad to see everything if you have lots of money and don't need to train any skills.

but yeah I wouldn't do it in your first playthrough... just not worth the effort.

So, I was trying to do 100% run, and I think I succeed (?), in the last month and I've finished all the books, games, SLs. I have the compendium 85% full so I'll try to fill it up as much as I can in a one last mementos run. Thing is, I've been told that some trophies are NG+ exclusive, and I don't feel like replaying the whole game, so I have some questions.

(NG+ spoilers)
In this video, he player breeze through the twin's fight in LV9. I'm not sure exactly what's happening since it's in Japaneses, but I'd love if I can do this. This way I will have to re-play only the first few hours.

So, can anyone explain it to or link me to a written guide to cheese the fight in low level?
I'd be really grateful.

11/20

Goddamnit, I liked Akechi, I even bought equipment and a SP accessory for him, why did he betray me? :( I think it wasn't that hard to imagine Akechi being the bad guy,
but I hoped for something less obvious. Tbh, I hoped he wasn't bad, as I really liked him as a design and a personality, he was pretty useful in battles too...

Anyway, I think I'm nearing the finale now, what should I do before the NG+? I've already maxed all the social stats.

Starting bro is always the worst party member.
