Well, she's a woman in Dragon Ball, so no, probably not. And I say this as a huge 18 fan.

Always annoyed me how much of a sausage fest this show can be at times. Ah well.

hi

18 and brolita are a start at least

There's also a female Buu and an elf engineer girl. Heles is also a female god.

Interesting how none of the examples just listed have names.

But I'm still playing catch-up on CR right now, so maybe I'm just uninformed.

Well yea we haven't been introduced to them yet but aye I mean it's a step up at least no denying that. Dragon ball z was one of the worst when it came to female fighters so to see a bunch coming into the Frey is sweet

The scary thing about the Goku/17 brawl is that neither could sense each others strength. So it was a constant guessing game not to kill each other. The cool thing about 17 is that since he is within range of SSB his combination of his shield and unlimited stamina makes him extremely dangerous. He could just play the long game the 18 did with Vegita. Spam ki blasts and his shield until his opponent got tired and go into beast mode 17. Make it happen Toei. Make it happen. =D

Hey Dbz had 18 (who became useless when Cell was introduced but we got an epic beat down on vegeta) and Videl and.....................

This thread is moving fast! The return of 17 was a great boost for an already pretty active fanbase hehe :)

Also is the woman figthing Vegeta in the intro confirmed to be a female "Buu"?

While I'm not a great expert (my knowledge in anime/manga is somewhat limited) I don't ever recall seing a female character get such a destructive beatdown as Videl got in the World Tournament. There were some pretty brutal moves in that fight. She got "ragdolled" pretty bad.

Well the reason was that it made no sense for Gero to make two androids that were identical.

17 was a failure so 18 had to get modifications to make her more docile...

And since the end result was a shitty weak ass robot, I assume they figured the transition had to be a "weaker android".

She isn't much weaker than 17 since 16 considered them to be in the same ballpark.

But maybe that's because 17 had greater potential, that was dormant.

That being said she can definitely get stronger and I hope she trains with 17 in the HTC or something.

It'd be cool if she brings up Vegeta's huge boost "btw Vegeta, how did you get that strong back then ? Oooh the HTC heh ?" . To get a "super" 18 ;) .

And how do you suggest he targets indoor humans then ? He had to feel them with ki.

17 has none so he wasn't gonna target him.

maybe he sees them superman style?

dunno why he'd walk around instead of just raising his hand the moment Piccolo suggested to kill everyone

either way, it's really stupid 17 did nothing in the Buu saga; either he got killed cause he couldn't see the attack coming....or he survived while seeing everyone around him get killed by a rain of death, which he must have related to the magician looking for that Piccolo guy he fought against in the Cell saga and he did nothing

I didn't mind the flimsy explanation for why 17 is able to go toe to toe with SSB Goku. I'm just happy non-saiyan characters are becoming relevant again. Now we just need Piccolo to get his God power up...

For the most part, they don't need to be as powerful to be relevant. It's a ring out tournament.

Piccolo almost got a win against Frost despite being much weaker.
We see Krillin getting creative.

17 can be relevant by simply taking advantage of his unlimited stamina. It's a relatively short time limit, but he can spam energy blasts and fight at full strength the whole time.

Tien proved he can ring people out with Tri Beam even with people stronger than him.

Buu can turn people into candy, get blown to bits, and contort his body. He doesn't need a massive power up either to be a relevant fighter for a battle royale.

In a 1 on 1 tournament, having massive surges in power levels would be needed. But all we need are good techniques and coordinated strategy.

Reminder, the earth isn't flat, so even if you're giving him the Superman ability to see through building, it's quite a stretch to assume he can see through the earth itself through the other side...

When Goku tries to locate specific ki he usually has to face the right direction, I guess Buu was turning around to feel ki from all direction of the earth.

1) You're assuming he wasn't alone at the time

2) You're assuming he had already reached a power beyond Cell at that time

3) He saw fucking Goku show up and beat up Majin Buu, so he knew the Z fighters were handling it

4) He knows they are gonna revive the victims with the Dragon Balls (he stated he knew about them and was thankful to them for being revived)

5) He can't feel ki himself, how do you suggest he finds anybody ? The entire Buu saga took place in a day and a half.

My issue with SSB right now is that it's fallen down to SSJ levels of high power but just not enough which means kaioken SSB has become the new trump card.

Watch as in the big royal rumble goku's new skill will be kaioken evolved.

When blue was new and fresh any time goku or vegeta used it you knew something special was going to happen, now it's just a palette swap.

at the point the god palace is, everyone is in only one direction: down

the gods are regularly shown looking at the planet from there and only now Dende moved it so I assume they are somehow seeing; prolly some magic on the palace itself or something divine. When God and Piccolo fuse, God is _looking_ at Cell, but Piccolo cannot see him because Cell is hiding his ki; Piccolo only learns of what God _saw_ once they fuse. so that proves that at least God could look around from the palace and use their eyes to see stuff on earth. it's not all ki reading (I think God first senses a lot of people getting killed, but feels nothing wrong, then he looks at Cell)

it's hard to say whether he was alone but...if he was maybe he wasn't married by then? otherwise if he heard about Buu destroying cities...wouldn't he fly to his wife and potential kids to at least take them off a city?

now I want a drawing of 17 sitting with his family killed by Buu, drinking coffee and going "This is fine"

also, who says 17 cannot sense ki by then? 18 is shown following the SSJ3 battle with her eyes closed so she can sense ki. have to wonder if they picked up stuff from Cell

I guess 17 had his terrible reasoning skills already by then "eh, if Buu kills everyone the Minotaur is gonna be protected anyway so I may as well stay here guarding it"

we don't know how powerful he was at the time, but in 7 years he MUST have reached at least Cell levels, or otherwise he rised from his old power levels to SSB levels in the time between Buu saga and now...4 years? but the 7 years before that he did nothing?

maybe getting killed stupidly by Buu started his interest in training

I'm pretty sure it's implied Goku is a bad teacher. In the original series the only person he really taught things was Gohan in the Cell Saga and he was pretty bad at it considering he didn't realize Gohan didn't like fighting. At the EoZ Goku goes to train Uub but in DB Super it is revealed that it was actually Dende who told him he needed to teach Uub how to contain his massive power due to being the reincarnation of the Evil Buu (Goku even seemed reluctant). At the EoZ Goku seemed like he initially was excited for a sparring partner, not for being a teacher in itself.

so what if universe 7 loses but the winners use the super dragonballs to bring them back?

I mean, that could be some crazy twist, but we've had a few scenes now where the other universes were pretty divided on their opinion on U7/Goku-- to the point where their gods aren't even included in discussions on how to potentially avoid erasure.

I'd find it more plausible if they continued on despising Goku/U7 despite eventually losing, then realizing how they were mistaken when U7 revives them (and that's a pretty weak conclusion, too)
