How dumb is it that supposedly Vegeta's shitty ki blast could reawaken majin buu, yet Babidi is on this years long quest to revive him. (he had no idea beings like Goku and Vegeta were there and Kaioshin states even if incomplete, Buu could kill all of them so lol)

Also, that entire dialogue is non existent in the manga. All of it.

Pls.

ok so first of all, Shin is bad at his job

so he doesn't notice, after that whole speech, that Vegeta is evil

and Buu -for whatever reason- needs good energy

otherwise Babidi would have ordered Dabura to give his energy to Buu

tl;dr Vegeta was right

And he killed one of his sons (Piano) and didn't give a shit.

But current Piccolo is the best dad. I will accept nothing less.

I mean, there is krillin right there

Like a good father,
Vegeta will probably take Bra into the ROSAT with him.
Catch up to Pan in age, and get her stronger than Pan.

So what is the point of the Pilaf gang right now? I don't understand what their purpose is right now, or what they're trying to do.

They're just living with Trunks, following the ending of BoGs (movie version). Super's staff just forgot to include that and then just went ahead with it in the beginning of the Trunks arc, rather than doing any set up for it in the tv show itself.

That Vegeta lecturing Gohan clip was interesting. I've never watched Kai. If Funimation offers it on their streaming service I'm considering giving the Kai dub a look. It has the same OST as the original series in Japan? Does the script follow the Japanese script strictly or do they take liberty with re-writes? Slaythe mentioned the conversation in that scene isn't in the manga. Is the general point of that conversation in the original anime?

Looking at Future Gohan's hairstyle it suddenly occurs to me. What if we're too focused on the bang? I mean, what if all changes to Gohan's hair reflect the state of his abilities?

When Gohan's hair is all standing up, he can become Super Saiyan 2. That's why it stood up when he first took the form, and that's why he has that hair while Future Gohan doesn't. Plus that's why his hair gets flat in Resurrection F. Gohan says "I think I can go Super Saiyan" because he can only go Super Saiyan 1, he knows he can't go Super Saiyan 2 because his lack of training has made his hair too weak.

I liked his normal Resurrection F hair and wish he kept it. It'd make his transformations pop a bit more and adds some more character.

They weren't living with Trunks at the end of Battle of Gods and they were doing their own thing in Resurrection 'F'. Them living at Bulma's house wasn't a thing until the Future Trunks Saga.

I have a strange feeling that the Tournament of Power will be like a reverse Hyperbolic Time Chamber, where 1 minute = 1 month, and when everyone returns to Earth, we'll be on the End of Z time (ie. 48 minutes -> 4 years). That means Trunks and Goten will likely have grown much stronger, and Pan and Uub will be old enough to have their own arcs. Would be a nice change of pace.

I know, there are a couple inconsistencies like Krillin aging (everyone else who ages is not competing on the ToP) and Buu competing in the 27th Budokai (which he'll be missing in this case), but I think it mostly works. Besides, those things aren't as important as the fact that there were supposed to be "no threats for the Earth" during the 10 years after Buu.

It's a random thought, but the oddly specific "48 minutes" setting and the fact that Uub was randomly mentioned a few episodes back makes me think that this is where they want to go next.

The reverse Time Chamber idea is kind of unnecessary. They can just do a timeskip after the tournament if they want and avoid those age inconsistencies. And I don't think it was ever said there were no threats for the Earth during those 10 years, at least not in the manga.

True, they totally could do a time-skip without much of a reason. I just thought that they could make it more "meta" by keeping the viewer's point of view consistent with the main characters' one given the opportunity. Then again, there's no telling what might happen during the Tournament, and especially after it. There may such a big change in status-quo that they won't even need a time-skip (for example, Goku may wish for Super Shenron to save the populations of the losing universes "so that he can fight against these strong opponents again", thereby creating new threats and characters to explore).

Not that I can tell. Has this though.

You can technically explain this away either with

A) Zamasu's time meddling changing things

B) This actually referring to the other other future Trunks goes to at the end of the Black arc

For a series that's usually the simplest distillation of the shonen genre that there is, the Black arc was some of the most confusing shit I've ever seen

I really hope that we get to see Gogeta in Dragonball Super someday. I really do. The Fusion that was featured once looks great ... let's hope Goku and Vegeta fuse in order to fight a God.

They remained there up until the ending, when it was at night already. It's much smoother transition than what you get by watching the tv version where they had no ties to Trunks at all and are suddenly living there out of nowhere.

That's because the party was still going and they were eating free food. And again, in Resurrection 'F', they were off doing their own thing away from everyone else. There was no hint they were living with Bulma since Shu wished for money and they were going for BBQ. They apparently weren't even in Toriyama's outline for the Champa Saga since the anime didn't have them while the manga for no reason.

Hm... if we go by the movie Mai claims that Trunks is her boyfriend.

The Champa bit is weird. They're there mostly for a couple of jokes in the lead up to the tournament and then pretty much become background decoration. Toyotaro did say that Toriyama was more particular about revising jokes, although we don't really know who was behind their presence there. They don't appear in those two pages that set up the universal anthem though, which had their storyboard completely redone by Toriyama.

She also claimed that when she thought Sorbet might kill her.

While the movie may have sat up Mai and Trunks' relationship, something neither Super the anime or manga did, it didn't set up Pilaf living with Bulma or becoming part of the core group. It's the opposite since Pilaf wanted to take over the world again.

clearly confirms Trunks would have beaten Black if he didn't go back in time to get help again. He just needed Black to do his sinner talk, rage boost, win. By using the time machine after his mother died, he wasn't there to defend it, meaning no peace.
