I don't think these episodes are dragging so much as the content could have been arranged a little better.
The longer the time until the tournament the more interested I am to see what's going on with it from a production standpoint. Tiger Mask has a ton of great talent and that show's production is probably ending pretty soon, if it hasn't ended already, and we've already had one of the production managers for that show come over to Super.
We know Shida's doing some animation for Super right now, so that's going to be great, and we could potentially see a fair amount of new animators (As well as animators that worked on Super in the past but never got to do anything great) in the tournament due to the timing of its start and Tiger Mask's production ending. On top of that most of the more action oriented animators for Super have been getting a more healthy amount of time between their episodes now thanks to Toei's heavy use of outsourcing.
There's also the more long term stuff that interests me, the longer this arc is the longer they have for preproduction on the next one.

Pikkon is hype if we can have 7 saiyans, two androids and a bunch of humans on the crew another green man wouldn't hurt

Next weeks episode is going to be painful for Yamcha :( Or the week after.

They should really use this as a turning point for his character. I know he's a joke character now, but I think the far more interesting and entertaining thing to do at this point would have him be deeply affected from being excluded from the team and for him to make the decision to take training seriously and find drastic improvements in his fighting ability. He could go on a personal journey and it could be a sub-plot we get a few minutes of every other episode or so similar to how we have watched him wait around for Goku to ask him to be on the team. It could be a subplot that happens during the ToP arc.

People are really enjoying a spin-off manga starring him. I think that says a lot. I think people would have fun seeing him matter. I hope he gets licensed. I'd buy 10 volumes of the official release to show my support (I'm assuming the whole story will be told in a single volume release)

I'm still trying to figure if the Z team are even friends with Yamcha. Only person that's regularly seen with him is Puar.

But you quote me? Its not that Im against discussion, its just I feel like you're going out of your way to start an arguement. Maybe my imagination

All I said was that Pikkon weren't similar outside of archetype. I wasn't addressing you directly, but more on the point that Hit is based on Pikkon.

Not sure how that came off argument. I guess because I tend to come off as argument in my other posts? That is the problem with internet posts. It's impossible to convey tone.

Shit got awkward after Bulma hooked up with Vegeta.

This.

Yamcha hasn't been relevant since the DB days when him, krillin, bulma and goku used to go on adventures. However, he wasn't really interested in all the fighting to begin with.. he's like the playboy of the group who actually has an interest on the mundane stuff of the world (girls, sports, etc) I mean Krillin apologized for stealing his wish on a chain for his gf lol

Yamcha actually spent a lot of time away from Bulma to train for the tournaments. He was absolutely a dedicated martial artist.

Yamcha is one of the last 5 practitioners of the Turtle School Martial Art (along with Roshi, Guymao, Goku and Krillin). It wouldn't be right to not invite him to the get-togethers/parties/reunions.

It is honestly kind of lame that goku didn't bring anyone from the afterlife that impressed him as super strong, pikkon or whoever

It also doesnt help we JUST got off that arguement about whether the recruitment was too long.

Anyone else feel that we'll see more from this saga after the tournament ends?

Could easily see a scenario where both Zenos enjoy the tournament so much that they wish to see a big 1v1 tourney finale with Goku and the last surviving fighter.

Cannot see them just ending the saga after the tournament.

You're assuming the tournament is going to play out as planned. I'd bet something happens that screws with the tourney or something.

I think it's pretty obvious there is something bigger than the multiverse that Zen-Oh controls, and Yamcha is secretly the god/creator/destroyer of that

Given the leaks of upcoming episodes I welcome the unpredictability of how things could play out.

Can't wait to see it all.

Also, feels like the saga is setting up for future ones with all these new characters. It'd be such a wasted opportunity to not utilise all these new characters introduced after the tournament.

I don't think the Battle Royale will be the end of the arc, whether it ends up being phase one of a larger tournament or something else entirely happens, we'll just have to see.

This would be the time to redeem him if anything, it would be even more on point considering that he is known for NEVER winning a tournament fight, so his big moment being him actually being useful in possibly the most important tournament of them all would be something. Its not like you bringing a character back from joke status and irrelevance is impossible, look at Johnny Cage. That said, I highly doubt its happening, the character being a gag/joke its at least better than being background character #8 with Puar, Turtle, Oolong, etc
