Wonder Woman (DCCU) Review Thread (RT 93%)

Oh god this is funny, lol.

Remember that letter from a "former WB employee" that called WW a mess and everyone believed it because they agreed with the rant about WB. Good times, good times.

WB insider signed up to their mailing list and thought he knew what was up.

Hell...No

Matt Reeves done gave us the best non-Fury Road blockbuster since The Dark Knight.

this sounds like a pretty good comic book movie. and if anything judging by the content of these reviews she's more suited to take on Man of Steel 2 tbh.

She is, but really, I want WW2 waayyyyyyyyyyy more than I want MoS2 at this point.

If anything, have Patty helm JL2 if she wants, with Diana in the lead role.

Can we all just sit back and appreciate how good it is to be a comic fan right now?

Logan, LEGO Batman, Guardians and now Wonder Woman. Spider-Man Homcoming in July and in November, Thor receives film redemption.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. just had one of the best runs in this entire 2016-2017 television season. Arrow has apparently completely turned things around.

No more fanboy wars, guys. Let's just bask in this.

Real story here is that they learned from the mistakes of the past three films. Sad part is it seems we are only going to get marvel style.

She talked about knowing a person that knew about BvS being shitty since they had insider info, and the same person told her the same thing about Wonder Woman, which she said "broke her effing heart" because she wanted to movie to be good.

Like I said in that thread when it got bumped recently, people took that tiny exhange way out of proportion and made it into something it wasn't, like if she herself was saying the movie sucked or something.

She was saying it. She didn't have to share that tidbit. Nobody made her.

Schmoes/Collider have made that mistake multiple times. Campea's had to apologize for doing that exact same stupid fucking thing at least twice that I can think of.

If you don't trust the "scoop," and you don't even like the scoop, how about you just... sit on it, then.

Especially since that crew's track record on early word/early news is pretty goddamn low.

They've already greenlit Batgirl and GCS. And are already talking about a WW sequel.
I mentioned those in my original post. I'm talking about them deciding to do a character they weren't already. For example, if they could decide to do Birds of Prey in addition to those if the suits feel "female superheroes are in!"

You forgot the gloriousness that was Legion.

But fully agree

Ant-Man is probably in my Top 10 & is one of the more underrated MCU films in my eyes, but let's save the MCU talk for another thread. Here we celebrate the praise that Wonder Woman's getting.
Of course.

It's great news we are not only a getting a good DCEU movie, but we are FINALLY getting a good a female superhero movie.

I'll definitely be watching this one.

This. 2017 has been a fantastic year for comic book fans so far. And don't forget, we just got Injustice 2 not too long ago & MvCI's coming this September.

Wonder Woman is pretty different from the Marvel films. There's some thematic parallels to First Avenger and Thor 1, and it's definitely got a lot more wit and charm in its cast than any other DCEU cast to date, but the production values and directing remind me more of Batman Begins and BvS than they do Marvel.

Wonder Woman 2 will likely be in 2020.

Supposedly Patty Jenkins has been having those conversations and said there'll be news "soon". SDCC is happening in around six or so weeks.

Oh wow, it's actually good! Very good, even!

If it wasn't for the fact we still had Justice League coming, WW would had been be a perfect way to make it a soft reboot of the DCEU as a whole right now.

It's not the Marvel style, it's respecting the source material and not deconstructing the character.

Maybe wonder woman can fight Olympus and asks for Superman's help.

Please save him.

Because it's not really a scoop, it's like a 3 hour long podcast with people just talking about random shit, which that took up maybe ten seconds. All she did was share what a friend told her and people lost their collective minds, and then made it seem like she was the one who had inside info and she was the one who thought it was shit.
