This is the same dude who was in a Pirates thread defending Depp and calling Amber Heard the devil-incarnate. I'm surprised he isn't banned.

he's also gone on record railing against black actresses, and lots of other sketchy shit

i am also shocked he hasn't been perma'd yet

I don't think this being good puts faith in JL or anything though .

It'll just make it more transparent how awful it is compared to this most likely.

Will see though. Hearing how well done WW is after seeing how shoehorned she was in BVS calls more for this being an anomaly project than DCU getting on the right track.

So for those who have seen the movie: How are the action scenes? Is there shaky cam? Taken 3-style quick cuts? Or does it look good?

Although I honestly don't care for Super Hero Movies at all (I know, crazy right?), this getting the reviews it has, and being directed by and starring a woman, makes me REALLY want to see it.

I'd be more confident in Gadot and Jenkins if I knew their maintenance level score.

HOLY FUCKING FUCK ON A FUCK FUCK GFUUFSUFAFUBISAFBASFAI

WOOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOOOOO

Hello? Is this Not's ass?

Yes, I'll hold.

Hello, yes? Not's ass? No? Sorry. How long will-- yes, sure.

*Hold muzak*

Hi! Yeah! Not's ass? Yes, I wanted to maybe ask you something about

GETTING IN THE SEAT

I'd say overall you'll come out positive on the action. A couple of instances of quick cuts, but not enough that it would define it as the style of the action.

from these reviews, this is the most hyped i've been for a super hero since The Dark Knight. i think we may have another masterpiece that reaches the heights of Spider-Man 2 and The Dark Knight.

You can dream my meme! You can dream my meme!

I enjoyed BvS and SS so I already expected to enjoy this film. At least I won't have GAF offended for liking this one.

How about the use of slow-mo though, is it a lot? I'm really not a fan of it.
Too bad that the movie opens on the 15th here in germany.

Anything over $85M domestic gives Patty the highest domestic opening for a female directed film.

I think the highest domestic total for a female directed film (ignoring a few female co-directed animated films) is Alvin And The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, which made around $220M.

I think that record is gone

Oh yeah. During more "indoor" encounters there's a *bit* too much for my tastes. I'm not much of a fan of it either. But honestly it wasn't enough to sully me on the action and I did appreciate the clarity it brought to some of those shots.

People know who WW is. And the film is getting good press. And the box office predictions are riding exponentially. I wouldn't bet the film out.

It's not about betting the film out and it's not part of some "people keep doubting Wonder Woman" cycle, as you implied. It's about understanding the kind of movie that can hit $1 billion.

Also, Cap M hitting 500 million would be a success.

Right, no one said that wouldn't be a success. You said there was no chance of it hitting that number, which is kind of crazy. Cap M hitting $500m is far more likely than WW hitting $1b.

(And obviously, there's also zero chance in hell that Cap M can hit $1b. Both of these movies are the type that will likely max out somewhere between $500m - $700m, give or take, which would likely be considered great.)

Hopefully this will stop all the conspiracy theories about critics having it out for DC.

We all want the same thing, good movies and it seems we finally got one here, thank god.

Critically, I hope it reaches those levels.

Personally, as someone who isn't fond of Raimi's Spider-Man or Nolan's Batman trilogies, I hope the filmmakers have a little more respect for the main character than they did. I freely admit I'm an anomaly as far as those works go, but I really didn't like the Spider-Man or Batman from those movies.

I second this question.

On a scale of John Wick to Taken 3, how smooth is the action?

We memes now

The action is not the high point of the movie. It's full of bad slow mo and non slow mo scenes are only above average. The actions carry no momentum and wire works are clearly visible.
The is little to no camera shake tho if that's what you're asking.

This is great news. My cousins and I usually go to all the superhero movies and I was dreading sitting through another slogging DCEU movie. But these reviews change things. I'm actually looking forward to seeing this now.
