Dragon Ball FighterZ (PC/XB1/PS4, BN/ASW, UE4, early 2018, beta Sum 2017) E3 trailer

it could be a choice in spending meter or not, maybe if you have meter to spare and want to take the shot then you can? makes sense if so. i do wonder if frieza is just screwed if he has no option, free combo on him after golden form would be a high risk

It sounds like an objectively better version of Sol's Dragon Install because while it leaves you vulnerable, it doesn't drain all your meter, AND it gives you the option to spend a bar and make yourself safe.

So good. I might play Freeza just for that reason alone

I think I heard "What's Mahvel?" suggested as the OT Title.

Looks like what I'd expect from Arcsys take on a Marvel style game. Adding some extra control while keeping the chaos that people love about it. Things like resetting to neutral after a character is KO'd is great. Sparking(X-factor) looks to be tied to a burst mechanic, not surprising but I wasn't able to learn enough about it in what I watched, I don't know if I saw it used defensively or if it recharges after it runs out. I also really hope we have control on when we air tech, we probably do since it's standard in their games, but it's hard for me to tell in the videos.

I guess I won't be surprised if all it took was the Arcsys touch to make a Marvel style game I could really get into. I really need to find out more about the mechanics, but either way I'm going to be playing a ton just on it being Dragon Ball.

I'll ask for this again, do we know if the game has some form of finishers/insta kills?
Judging from the trailer and the gameplay video we got later all of the cinematic attacks seems to be level 3 supers so far

Woah the gameplay session really showcases how perfect the game is.

The trailer made it a bit chaotic (which is fine) but there you really got to see greatness !

Just a heads up: this game probably won't control like a traditional fighter with stick inputs and such. It will probably control like Tekken or Extreme Butoden

J-Stars and some of the Gundam VS games actually allow custom soundtracks, partially based off their Anisound special editions (which replace generic music with licensed music from the shows.)

That... actually could happen here, eh? Would be a nice bonus. I also hope we can choose character voices per character. Japanese Cell VS English Frieza, FIGHT.

Hopefully all this hype gets people interested in checking out Guilty Gear while they wait for the summer beta and retail release.
