.hack//G.U. Last Recode (HD remaster, PS4 and PC) coming out

They're already localized games that have a dedicated western fanbase and they're putting them on PC. That's about as close to a western release as you can get without an official announcement.
I missed the GU stuff so I'm super happy. The .hack concepts have never been hotter. It's passed time it came back. Now let's hope for a new game too.

Never played the GU games and never got to finish the first 4. I need them all
The tease about a new Haseo form, could be an issue if it means the addition of new story content that would need additional voice work, but I'm sure they could simply leave those part without voices if they cannot get the original voice actors back.

I still think that there is still a chance it won't be localized since we haven't gotten anything translated from the series since .hack//link, but i truly hope it will be.

This is amazing. I was just looking at eBay prices not long ago, too. I was such a huge fan when these were first announced, but I fell off by the time they were localized.
He's one of those workman actors who does both massive and tiny games. I'm sure Bamco could afford to get him in for as session or two.
Worst comes to worse they leave stuff unvoiced or go JP voice only which would suck, but for a niche product I'll take what I can get.

Yeah. When's the last time a JP game launched with a PC release and didn't come over?
Also BamCo puts out things like SAO and other anime games and Gundam Versus, This seems like an easy bet.

Still can't believe this is happening, I'm so excited to hear one of arena themes again. The soundtrack for GU is great in general, especially the vocal songs. Truly an underappreciated classic.

Still hard to believe we'll get the chance to play HD remasters of the G.U games.
Yesterday, i would not have even thought a remaster of those games was even in the cards.
I wonder how they will handle the transition between games. Will it be seamless: you finish one game and the intro of the next one start?
Or is it gonna be a menu at the start to select which one to play?
It's almost certainly just gonna be a menu when you launch the game.

Oh sure. Dual Audio is best. I say it would suck because I always hate people getting limited options. If they do DA I'm going JP because that's what I always do in DA japanese games.
Same thing but in reverse for me : I always go EN if i have a choice, unless if the voice acting suck.
On-topic, i hope they will add the Returner OVA to the game. Having the trilogy epilogue translated officially would be great.

Realistically .hack fans are in the triple digits. I met a guy in high school who was a fan, felt like I found my soul mate.
Phew! Thought I would have to fight one of the 26 to claim my spot as one of the .hack GU fans.

They might not even have the uncompressed source material since storage was so expensive at the time.

I think I'll be spending more time in the 'desktop' part of the game, reading message boards for keywords and customizing my background. I love that.
