Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy |OT| N.Teresting and N.Tertaining N.Fographics With-N

That's actually from the classic games. Pressing Select from the pause menu was how you quit levels in Crash 1 (and I think it worked in 2 and 3 as well).
Oh okay, didn't remember that. Still pretty stupid IMO, since it's so easy to accidentally hit the touch pad, but whatever. Just gotta be careful I guess.

Went to all the local shops to me and this game is sold out everywhere. Guess this is what I get for wanting to impulse buy popular games instead of planning ahead of time =[

Is this holding up for those that played it back on the PS1? Very, very tempted but do not want to be disappointed with it feeling janky.

Something I have to get use to in Crash 1 now is when you jump on a box on top of a small platform. In the original game, doing so would drift Crash slightly forward and make it easier for him to fall off. So when you jumped on a box located on a tiny platform, you'd have to tap down on the dpad to make sure you didn't fall off.

Now you don't have to do that anymore in the remake.

The extra Aku Aku was always in Crash 1 after a few deaths afaik.

I don't think it ever was.

I really like the upgraded look of Crash in this game. The PS2 sequels and any other post Naughty Dog follow up has had weird designs.

I felt bad because I just decided to pre-order this game on Tuesday when I was at the store. They held a midnight launch because they pulled enough preorders, but I wasn't able to attend because of work.

Went in today before work (I work night shift so this was an hour and a half before close) to pick it up and they knew I was there because they had received so many calls about extra copies today and mine was the only one still waiting to be picked up. They know me by name there, so they were immediately like "here for Crash right?" when I walked in.

Glad to hear this seems to be doing extremely well. Seems like a really good remaster. Can't wait to play when I go home in the morning.

Yeah, I'm very happy with the final product, after not really feeling any of the Crash designs post WoC (which was just PS1 Crash with more polygons).

Just lost all my lives at the last checkpoint of Native Fortress. I was so close to the end but kept getting fucked by jumps. I'm done for the night, it's such a long level I don't feel like going through it again.

It straight up tells you how to defeat some bosses (even the final in the first game). To a new player that would definitely be harder without knowing what to do beforehand.

I kinda feel like Crash 1 is so unintuitive that you need hints for it. The game is already hard enough as shown by reviewers who dont even wanna bother doing their job.

Yeah so I finished Crash 1. I did better than I thought and had over 50 lives at the end (I didn't repeat any levels yet except for the few running ones). Final boss wasn't that easy, took me a few attempts to survive the penultimate phase. Some levels really wrecked me, I rarely have anything good to say about Gamespot reviews, but they were right that they should've smoothed over some of the difficulty spikes.

Over at a friend's, four guys, lotsa drinks, two already asleep but a friend and I won't rest until we finish this game in a sitting! Currently at The High Road, goddamn is this title kicking my ass and making me love it.

12 lives on Road to Nowhere but still no game overs yet, Down to 4 lives though, yeesh.

This is also without any colored gems so maybe that's why it was easier.

Crash 1 done, good game, but not as good as I remember it, I can certainly see why some outlets game this game an above average review score. It was a good first attempt from Naughty Dog at the time.

Time to beat Crash 2!

I *think* I've found the best way to farm 99/infinite lives in Crash 1. The High Road can give you five lives in under two minutes, then you quit out to main menu and refresh. Much faster than killing bats or running through levels for fruit.

Wondered what the fuss about Native Fortress was until I got towards the end. Those jumps are unforgiving.

I need to go out and actually do something productive today, this game is going to eat my weekend for lunch.

I appreciate this remake, but it's making me very thankful that video games aren't like this anymore. Crash 1 is significantly harder than Soulsborne, which is ridiculous. A lot of levels require frame perfect movement, which is Mario Maker levels of frustrating.

That only means ee have become terrible at games lol, games nowadays have to much handholding and i love this remake stayed faithful to the originals in difficulty.

Yeah, that's what I did yesterday for that level, but now I'm on High Road, and I just keep falling off the ropes. These controls, urgh.

These controls are tight. I need to be perfect in everything I do. Jumping on platforms, landing on enemies etc. I almost got my first game over at Boulder Bash. 😭

I had no problem with Native Fortress, but Road to Nowhere is frustrating me beyond belief. More than any souls game did, as a matter of fact.

So many vehicle levels in 3. So many. I remember as a kid actually just wanting more levels where I ran around and jumped on stuff.

I can't even think of 1 standout level in Crash 3, but I can name so many bad ones. Childhood ruined. The boss fights are the best in the series, though.

Fake edit: tiger riding on the Great Wall of China was pretty dope I guess.

Im still baffled by the craze over Road To Nowhere, I didnt find that hard at all, even without using the ropes

I wonder how people having trouble with it will react to High Road
