Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy |OT| N.Teresting and N.Tertaining N.Fographics With-N

i just wanted to say Fuck the person who is responsible for the Gold or better Relics trophy

and fuck Water levels

I'm trying to find a good review for this game. Not something ala gamespot or gamesradar. A review who actually puts in perspective the bad aspects of this game.

Review thread its not at first page, so im kinda scared to put give that one a bump

I always knew Crash 1 was a so-so game, but it's really becoming more apparent in this trilogy. After playing it for a bit, I went on to Crash 2 and it feels so much better.

Also, screw Native Fortress.

This. 100% this.

Dying on gem level meaning you have to quit out and restart takes far too long.
I noticed this too. It wouldn't be a big problem if the loading times weren't so long...

I came across a glitch in Warped that made N. Tropy both invisible and invincible. Might have something to do with getting knocked down from his platform while hitting him, but I wasn't able/motivated enough to replicate it yet.

Have you watched the review by ACG? He does great reviews and his Crash one is no exception.

I was having so much getting every gem and relic in Warped(80% completion) until I unlocked the secret floor.

Another fucking racing level...... WHY.

guy on hog wild has 2 seconds faster than me.

i go on whole hog and the same guy has 2 seconds ahead.

what is this guy's secret??

The only thing I can think of is shorter jump times. He/She probably doesn't hold X for long on each jump but just enough to get over an obstacle.

Long story short it keeps the original gameplay almost to a fault. The art is overall fantastic and very faithful to the source. So what happens is you have a game that looks like it came out in 2017 and plays like it came out in 96.

The load times by themselves aren't long.. It's the amount of load screens we get that infuriates me. Start the game, pick the game, pick a level, finish the level or restart the level. Like what.

Is there a bug with keys in Crash 1? I somehow missed it in Sunset Vista, went back and got it, but now it doesn't show up as collected. I'm guessing the same will happen in the other level, and I'll be stuck at 24/26 gems. :/

Lost City just got me pissed, lol. I completed both the Coco and NBriio bonus sections, which were both a pain in the ass, but a jump at the end took all my lives. It's one of those stair type platforms but I can't get across. I can't get any extra height by running to the right then back left because they shift too quick.

I recall Crash getting difficult, and this remains with the remake... man this game can get frustrating. I feel like you need to memorize sections of levels, and it can still feel cheap. I'm not sure I'm having fun anymore, and may skip to warped (which I think I liked more back in the day).

Edit: I had way more patience for this when I was younger

This. 100% this.

Dying on gem level meaning you have to quit out and restart takes far too long.

It is infuriating that it removes the Quit option from the menu if you press start in the middle of the death animation or even during the respawn animation.

Awful design that I'd hoped they would have gotten rid of.

I WANT TO SKIP THIS DAMN LONG INTRO, WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS.

And this. There is no reason for this to be here as it doesn't even seem to be a Loading screen. There's an actual screen that says Loading after you're finally allowed to hit start.

This game is great and I'm still glad it got made but god damn is there stuff around that that they must know is garbage.

Another annoyance is sitting through the "You Missed XX Boxes" animation (even if you can speed it up) when there was no way of you getting all the boxes.

I actually don't mind the loading screens. Then again I was going in expecting Tropical Freeze length loading screens. The ones in this game are incredibly short in comparison.

So it turns out just saving and reloading resets all the lives, meaning that if you have the green gem by the time you get to Castle Machinery then you're all set to get lots of lives very quickly.

Great OP/thread title! Very nicely done.

This game series holds a special place in my heart, and I am glad to see it getting the love it truly deserves for a new generation to enjoy.

From Twitter.
Accurate

Now someone just needs to overlay You Died over an image of Crash's shoes flying in the air in Road to Nowhere

I lost over 50 lives on the high road! I feel like the turtle hit boxes are off because I went back to the PS1 and I could do it easier.

Man, the slide jump makes such a difference. Crash 2 feels so much better to play because of it.

Wait until you play and get all abilities in Crash 3.

The jump after the slid feels even better and smoother.

Crash 3 is very competent mechanically and holds pretty well by today's standards.

Oh christ, Native Fortress is kicking the shit out of me. It's so long and I just can't make it through without losing all my lives. So frustrating.
