Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy |OT| N.Teresting and N.Tertaining N.Fographics With-N

Currently in road to nowhere in crash 1 (playing crash 1 for the first time). Honestly, crash 1 might be the most unbalanced and cheap death-filled platformer I've ever played. Not even sure if I can finish this POS game.

I know it's a 20 year old game but Naughty Dog totally fucked up the difficulty balancing in Crash 1.

Just want to say I picked it up as I planned and am really enjoying it.

Also my concerns about the vanilla PS4 version were unfounded, looks great and no complaints there.

They're totally patching native fortress right?

Hopefully not as it isn't broken.

"Cheap" how? It's difficult, yes. But it's supposed to be.

Sunset Vista time trial is so diffficult i have failed at least 100 times now
I must have spent at least 6 hours on that today. Worth noting that a "flawless" run would be about 40 seconds clear of the platinum, so you can afford to screw up quite a bit on the vertical sections.

Was doing pretty well and then I got to The High Road and...

Lol.

OMG your are gonna rage in a few levels if you think that's hard.

Games honestly not that tough, everything has a pattern.
The "high" jump is not even coherent! like, I do it 4 times, but when I want to give it direction it fails. I feel I'm losing and it's not my fault.

This is a 90's kids game goddamn it

It's cheap because instead of the difficulty challenging players, it fucks players over and doesn't give them a fair shot even at first try. It basically tells players to try over and over again because that's the only way they will progress. Just look at the amount of people here saying how many times they've died at certain levels.

Jumping physics are messed up too:

The poor jumping physics for a start. The feeling of hitting an invisible wall at the end of a jump or apparently missing your jump entirely but you clip through whatever it is you thought you'd land on.

THIS FUCKING 3 FLAME JUMP!

Was the timing that fucked in the original?
Don't hold x, you want to do small bounces as it's faster. Even with small bounces you need to go a lot earlier (you can slightly overlap the flame as it goes out).

Or just use the background as others have said.

Nah there's nothing in this game that couldn't be passed on your first try (except maybe the final hog on Hog Wild), and Crash goes exactly where you tell him to.

People die a lot because the game is difficult, not because it's unfair.

Post a video/gif.

Us old dudes will walk you through.

Wish they could have pulled the camera back even further for backtracking in a level to get boxes.

Diggin It is such a pain in the ass. I even hit a checkpoint before an electric gate and the camera glitched so i died.

Definitely one of the worst gems in crash 2.

I think it's important to note this isn't like Mario games where you a run full tilt and everything is timed perfect to whip through the level. There are parts where you just have to wait out the pattern.

Being able to look a few jumps ahead in later levels is also a invaluable skill for getting your timing down.

That's because those levels are difficult. Of course people die in certain spots a lot - that's how it is for all games.

Jumping is fine. It's heavy and needs very precise timing, but not broken.

I would pay $40 for Team Racing and Bash. Had more fun with those games than CB 1-3, since they had awesome local co-op

Bash is not as good as everyone remembers.

Unless they keep in the code to unlock everything like CTR had then i aint playing that shit. The singleplayer takes WAAAAY too long.

Have you played the original Rayman?

$15 then. Each of the three games come out to $13.33 each, so $15 for CTR and $15 for Bash makes sense.

The problem there is the engine plus lots of animations and models are shared by the 3 games, whereas making CTR Remastered would be its own effort, so they'd want more than $15 for it. I'd expect $25 minimum.
