Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy |OT| N.Teresting and N.Tertaining N.Fographics With-N

The problem there is the engine plus lots of animations and models are shared by the 3 games, whereas making CTR Remastered would be its own effort, so they'd want more than $15 for it. I'd expect $25 minimum.
Crash Team Racing is so incredible that I would gladly pay 60 dollars (provided they include online multiplayer).

Having played up to beating Ripper Roo in Crash 1, I have to say, what a great remake of these games. A lot of effort has gone in.

I still think the first game is fairly hard, but that feeling of beating a level you've struggled on is top notch. I still rank the first three Crash games as some of my favourite platformers, so I'm completely biased.

I think it's evident that your jumping has to be spot on both in control and timing to make some of those tricky jumps (Native Fortress's three flame jumps near the end definitely stung me).

Up to the second warp room in Crash 3. Playing them back to back reaffirms that 3 is my least favorite. I've never really loved the underwater, jetski, motorcycle or airplane levels. Still great though. I'm looking forward to the Egyptian and future levels

omg I finally beat that bullshit Native Fortress level. Now I don't have to lower my head in shame and can go back to playing Crash 1.

Okay, so not to be smug but I just kinda breezed through The High Road. I died maybe six times, most of which were in the very last segment (between the Bonus pad and the warp exit).

If you're struggling, you're not using the ropes enough. The ropes made this one trivial for me, even more so than they did on Road to Nowhere.

"Not to be smug"

...

"You need to exploit more."

Dude... There's nothing impressive about that, lol.

Played tge first 10 or so levels od crash one.

The quality if this remake is kind of absurd.

And you have to live that it still has that feel of a ps1 game.

Super happy with this.

Just realized I had 3 themes needing to be downloaded, the Coco running from a boulder one is so cute lol. Think I will rock this one.

Haha, yeah, fair call there.

The way I figure, they brought it over from the original game, so if the developers consider it a legitimate way to play, who am I to argue? I'd certainly be using it if I were losing hours and dozens of lives trying to pass the bloody level.

Yeah. The ropes make it super easy. No shit lol.

With the amount of people struggling in the thread I figured it wasn't common enough knowledge *shrug*. There may be people out there so dedicated to fair play that they'll throw away hours of their lives on playing it "straight", but I sure ain't one of them.

Yeah honestly the fact they kept it in says a lot. It wouldn't have been hard to 'fix' it if they considered it broken.

Visually is it as impressive as Rachet and Clank (ps4) was?

I'd say so. There's a very effective AA solution so overall image quality is very clean, which goes a long way.

Man I got my hands on it today and BLEW through the first few levels purely on muscle memory...

This is the most love I have ever seen given to a remake comeback. Everything is so damn lovingly crafted. The music, animations, the gameplay. Its literally as if these 3 Crash games came out in 2017 for the first time as is. I think the graphics are fantastic, as you do well and lose the hud, it starts to look like a cgi animation.

This game is what MCC should have been.

I beat Road to Nowhere/High Road the old fashion way. The turtle positioning is key there, you have to have the turtle lined up by the edge, anything less is guaranteed death. It's tough, High Road wiped me out 20+ lives....the timing is tough and the frustrating part is getting Crash to land at the tip of the turtles ass to get as close to the platform as possible, you have such a small margin to get across.

I never knew about the ropes until the internet, even as a kid I always did it using the turtles and needing the thumbs to get to the right planks.

How triumphant I felt when getting a Gold (not Platinum, just a humble Gold) Relic in Road to Nowhere

just beat the High Road

EXCUSE ME, WAS YOU SAYING SOMETHING?
UH UH, YOU CAN'T TELL ME NOTHING (HAHA)
YOU CAN'T TELL ME NOTHING (YEAH)
UH UH, YOU CAN'T TELL ME NOTHING!!

LET UP THE SUICIDE DOORS
THIS IS MY LIFE HOMIE, YOU DECIDE YOURS!!!!

When you beat the game it unlocks running boots just like crash 3 did, I believe this does not occur in Crash 1 however.
I totally didn't remember that, well looks like I'll be doing the relic runs after going through the all the levels once in Crash 2 & 3. (Crash 1 I'm doing them right after I beat each level).

I'm so sorry. Congrats! Which stages were the hardest to get the box gems for?
Slippery Climb and The Lab by far.

I got the coloured gems first, so all the clear gems were incredibly easy afterwards. Even the bridge levels! Although there were some levels with cheeky hidden boxes.

It doesn't happen in the original game, it's new for this release.

I managed to get the platinum in Fumbling in the Dark, but something tells me this is one of the easier levels to get a plat relic in XD.

I got the platinum trophy for Crash 1 yesterday and have completed most of Crash 2. Looking forward to speedrunning the 2 levels before starting 3!

you are so far behind I hope you dont often play that way (or I can see why its really hard for you), you should be mid air while the flame is still on, easily.

That was just a random gif I found of the jump in question.

I could get to the 3rd no problem but I always got burned. I eventually got past it by the skin of my teeth though.

Having just cleared this a few hours ago with 1 life left till what would have been my first game over.

The ropes?? D:

Had no clue.

Didn't find the turtle setup that bad. It's was timing those damn goats that killed me again and again.

So when you're going for the special gems in the first game, is there no better way to restart when you die than to quit out to the map and restart the level?

After over an hour of constant failure I've finally gotten the platinum relic on The Lab. That is easily the most difficult thing I've ever done in a 3D platformer.

Thanks to you, I finally platinumed Crash 1! When I saw my time was 17 seconds over for Gold in The Lab, I was at a complete loss as to what to do. It was the last stage I had to earn a Gold Relic in.

I now have 15 Platinum Relics and 11 Gold Relics. Good enough for me. I don't think anything gets unlocked if you get all Platinum Relics, right?

Now I can finally put the hard game behind me and enjoy my time with Crash 2 & 3.

That's how I just beat it. I didn't even think of using the ropes until I saw a clip a few posts ago here.
