Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy |OT| N.Teresting and N.Tertaining N.Fographics With-N

100% Crash 2! I had a really good time with it, much better than Crash 1. I'm not sure I'll bother with the time trials though. Maybe if they patch in a restart option or lower the load times I might, but right now it seems like too much hassle. Excited to jump into Warped. I have some very fond memories of playing through it as a kid.

Edit: realised I could restart the time trials do'h. Why isn't that an option in regular levels? Also the load is like nonexistent for time trials, weird when it's so long the rest of the time.

Thanks for the replies, I saw them right after realising myself lol.

You can restart time trials from the pause screen, or just dying, as you won't lose a life. Also, the first time you get a level's relic you'll be kicked back to the warp room, but on subsequent attempts it gives you the option to retry once you've entered your high score name.

You can restart time trials, it's the only time the option to restart is available. it's quick

Got 100% in all the games and platinum trophy in Warped. I'll see if I can platinum 1 and 2 next week tho I assume some relics in 1 can be a bit tricky.

Amusingly enough 1 was the only game where I got 99 lives just playing normally. The bonus rounds for example are really generous with 1-ups.

Getting the gems in Cold Hard Crash and Piston It Away were hell but for all the wrong reasons.

Theyre definitely easier now that bonus rooms count as checkpoints but the ice physics are completely broken in the trilogy compared to the original. You get a tiny bit of momentum and try to slam or change direction and Crash flies into a pit.

The nitro boxes also hop way too high. Like almost as high as a basic jump.

Hmmm...

Just beat Ripper Roo in Crash 2 and Cortex never spoke to me before or after the fight. Is this a glitch or am I just not remembering the original correctly?

It's not a glitch. It seems that they removed the cutscene because the boss portals were a last minute addition and they had already recorded voice acting telling you to use the elevator to fight the boss.

Easiest way to deal with the ice is to slide ''up'' (away from the camera). You halt immediately.

If they ever do a patch they definately should add a text box after beating Roo telling the player about the elevator. I can imagine new players could be a bit confused how to proceed.

Finished Crash 3. About to fight N. Gin in Crash 2. Just completed Heavy Machinery in Crash 1.

Crash 3 is definitely the most fun/casual of the bunch. While Crash 2 starts off great, the later levels truly approach Crash 1 levels of tough. Crash 1 is literally there for nostalgic purposes and to annoy people for fun.

Really happy with this trilogy. I can only wish for the same treatment done for Spyro. I'd love CTR being remade with online but if it's between that or Spyro, bring the dragon over.

Best wishes.

He should have when you went to the next floor.

Yeah, I didn't venture far enough when I got to the next floor, but the Cortex cutscene played for me. I was worried that I may have broke the game and went straight to GAF to make sure if I had to restart the game or something lol. But that would make sense since there was you don't go up the elevator to fight bosses anymore.

That feeling when you finish Snow Biz after spending so many lives due to the awful ice mechanics and find out that you've destroyed 124 out of 125 boxes

FML ;_;

All this game did was remind me how much I hated Crash 1, nostalgia made me think it was so great but the other two are superior by far. Crash 2 being the best of course.

Just finished Road To Nowhere.
Had 4 Game Overs, but it wasn't that much of a problem, after knowing where the enemies are (the hogs).
I even like the segment, where you only have a tiny spot to jump on.

Crash 3 as mentioned many times before suffers a bunch from the gimmick levels. Like, I don't hate them but there are just too much. There are 4 motorcycle levels, they could easily have replaced 1 or 2 with traditional levels. Same thing with Jet Ski tho I think they fit in much better than bike or plane levels. Speaking of plane levels, even tho there are only 2 (+1 special) they could have cut one of them, there is no point in repeating it.

But I totally get why they did it. If you put in time to develop such a radically different style of level, of course you wanna put it in as much as possible.

Wow, do I suck. I lost all of my lives at Native Fortress. I struggled so hard to jump on the metal boxes that by the time I was finally able to do it the 3rd time, I lost my lives in the final stretch. Dang.

I'm pretty sure I lost 5 years of my life from Crash 1, but I'm glad it's finally over with. No way am I going for the Platinum lol.

Crash 2 is great though. I forgot about the giant polar bear level. Holy shit.

God were the ice physics in Crash 2 always this wonky? Getting the red gem was the fucking worst, and I don't remember having much trouble with it in the original.

100% Crash 1 this evening. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be, especially after reading people complaining about the difficulty so much.

I suck at this game.

Native Fortress took me well over an hour. idk what it was about the three fire pit sequence but I could not jump to the ledge.

Made it to Ripper Roo and called it a day.

So just spent about 90 minutes on Lost City to get a colored gem and a gold relic (I'm not patient enough to try to go for platinum relics). Love this game. For some reason I don't get frustrated. Though I'm sure going for platinum runs which would require everything to go nearly perfect would bring frustration though but I'm not attempting that. I just try what I consider to be my best, and usually my first complete run through the level ends up being a gold (I die a lot to get to that point though). One surprisingly ended up being a platinum.

I thought it was just me, so glad to hear this. I was stuck there for an hour too!

I consider myself a good gamer as well, maybe I've just forgotten how hard games used to be.

I replay Crash 1 annually so I'm breezing through this thing so far.

About halfway through at the moment.

Loving the shit out of this remake.
