Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy |OT| N.Teresting and N.Tertaining N.Fographics With-N

So I thought I was pretty cool on my few time trial exploits so far, I was like "yeeeaaaah platinum baby" on a whole two stages.
See when you look up the default time to beat in Crash 1 it shows a bold blue relic only so I figure "yeah that must be super stylised colour choice for Platinum" which is often represented as something of a light blue when stacked alongside bronze, silver and gold.

So I take down the first bridge stage like "yep, done with this", then I look at the overall times....
oh no, OH NO, that's not a overly blue platinum! that's just a stinkin'...cobalt? who the fuck awards cobalt for the third place?! then the actual platinum looks very much like silver just to confuse me more as I desperately go into denial but the numbers don't lie.

So it turns out I done goofed and all of a sudden my idea of getting the platinum trophy in Crash 1 is drifting further and further away.
I just spent an hour trying to do the high road in time trial, when I eventually beat the stage I got...nothing.

I'm just gonna go cry then.

This is an entertaining and heart-breaking story. One of many harsh realities dealt by Crash 1.

Good news is that you only need the Gold Relics for the platinum. Bad news is that you still need Gold Relics for the platinum.

Does anyone have any tips for platinum on Cold Hard Crash (crash 2) ? I thought I had a great run but my time is off by like 20 seconds, very unusual.

Just a heads up in case you don't know, you don't need platinum relics for the platinum trophy. Just gold.

This is true, but even the golds are pretty brutal it seems, took me many a rerun of the lab to finally chip the time down to gold.

Got already 19 crystals in Crash 2, very smooth compared to Crash 1. Also like 18 or 19 clear gems compared to 4 in Crash 1.

Yeah, getting the platinum in the first game is gonna be hell isn't it.

Crash 1 platinum get! Some of the time trials really busted my balls, didn't help I only found out you only needed gold relics after already getting 2/3 of the plat relics. Thankfully I could settle for gold for tough ones like High Road and The Lab. Overall quite a challenging platinum but not too bad with some patience.

Moving on to Crash 2. I'm glad the challenge will ease up a little.

God, fuck Native Fortress! You aren't far enough in to have a huge backlog of lives and some of these jumps are ridiculously tight.

where the hell is the Nitro detonator in Air Crash stage in crash 2?

I searched that level twice and I couldn't find it, did the devs forgot to add it?

Man getting the red special gem on slippery climb is an amazing feeling. I blew it at the very end one one run by jumping out of the last window sill and missing the moving platforms. I was sweating bullets once I made it there again.

Just have the lab and the pitch black room to go. I'm assuming those are easier, but we'll see.

Short answer: They didn't.

Longer answer:
There's a warp room entrance to the stage that you have to find in a different stage.

just bought this game

is crash 1 worth a playthrough? is it as hard and frustrating as some people are making it out to be?

Crash 1 got the best remake remastered treatment of the three. It's actually fine to play, though it still has some Crash 1 ass Crash 1 things in it, but you don't have to worry about the save system or dying when getting the clear gems.

Took me 500 attempts at getting the gold relic on high road. Never want to see that level's face again.
But I have to for the clear crystal because I missed the 5 boxes at the beginning of my first playthrough.

Unlocking the ability to run in crash 2 completely changes how these levels are played.

You can get so much distance with the slide jump spin its ridiculous. Just a lot more enjoyable and rewarding than crash 1 time relics.

you can get lots of lives on the bee level on crash 3 by sppinning into all the bees that come out of the nest. life everytime :D

Yeah i did this to get the 99 lives trophy

This game really seems to have taken off with the casual crowd.

I'm seeing Crash tweets and Facebook posts from people I didn't even know played video games.

Is there really that much latent Crash nostalgia in our society?

Hell yea, Crash was my Mario 64 as I didnt own an N64

This game brings me to a sad realization

PlayStation All-Stars could've happened after Sony and Acti had already partnered for Crash...not before

Game would've got a massive sales boost

Wonder if some people bought this collection, because of Uncharted 4, where you play Crash Bandicoot for a moment :)

So I just did Ruination as a Plat run in Crash 2, and it took the soul out of me for the night, no more. I started taking hits at the end and just bulldozed through but it was a solid run with a few mistakes.

I'm still stumped on Cold Hard Crash if anyone has any tips, I simply don't know how to shave off the amount of time it ask.

Wow hardcore!

Last stage of the first game here.

Crash 2 should have locked Time Trials until you get the sprinting ability. Seriously. Why would they allow you to try the trials if you can't sprint? The first game conditions you into trying time trials as soon as you beat the stage, because there is no sprint. By adding sprinting to Crash 2, Vicarious Visions should have locked time trials until you get the ability, just like how it is in Crash 3.

Bad design. Someone should have known that it would cause confusion and frustration. I just tried over and over the first stage of Crash 2 to get the old. I went all Mirror's Edge on the level by sliding and jumping through all the goddamn level.

AFAIK slidespinning is basically as fast as sprint and probably the main reason why it was included in 2 and not 1.

My girlfriend encountered a bizarre bug while playing one of those castle village stages of Crash 3 today. I think it was on the second set of stages. When she left the Bonus section I noticed the sky was blue instead of being the usual sunset color. The backgrounds were like a poor Photoshop job, and even stranger was the fact that crash became invincible...

No enemy could hit him. It would be pretty cool if it wasn’t for the sound that began crackling and the for the exit that just didn’t appear. She was so frustrated.

Throwing crash into the pit didn’t do anything. The only solution was to quit the game and start over.

I really hate crusher blocks that hurt you by simply coming into contact with them, rather tham actually crushing you
Also I think Coco's ponytail has a hurtbox
Edit: And I finally got Snow Biz' box gem after half an hour of dying in that hidden crusher section, I'm going to despise Cold Hard Crash's one, that's for sure

Fuck Slippery Climb, fuck it to hell and back. Hate those falls where you gotta time it just right. I just want to be done with this stage and never see it again.

Road to Nowhere is impossible for me. I haven't played Crash in years and I just simply can't get passed this level. I've figured out you can jump on the rope and basically walk your way there... But I'm still fucking up.

I used to be so good at this game, being an adult is frustrating.

Just take your time. If you let your panic control you and rush you will probably slip and fall. Jump and stop on the planks, you will have enough time to adjust and jump again before they fall.

Just keep practising the rope walking. You'll fall off a lot, but the skill will come in handy
for the next bridge level
