He's in the game too (kinda). Go to Satori mountain at the right time of day and you'll find a mystical deer god by a beautiful pond with a tree.I had a sad when I saw he got an Executive Producer credit in Breath of the Wild.
RIP Iwata-san. So long, and thanks for all the games.
Do we know if Iwata was involved in Odyssey as well? Would be nice if he just gets honorably mentioned for all Switch games until the next console releases.
Star Fox Zero I believe.Where is that from?
He was one of the few gaming personalities that everyone felt after he passed away.
He was really passionate and had a lot of charisma. Died too young too![]()

He greeted me today in these credits.

What game is that?
after finding out he was sick I assumed they didn't want to show him in his current state. I assume he looked even worse than the photo in the OP.
Shigesato Itoi said:"When I'm parting with a friend, regardless of the circumstances, I find it best to just say, 'See you later.' We'll meet again. After all, we're friends. That's right - nothing unusual about it. I'll see you later.
"You went on a trip far, far away, even though it was planned for many years from now. You wore your best outfit and said 'Sorry for the short notice,' though you didn't say it out loud. You always put yourself last, after you'd finished helping everyone else. You were so generous as a friend that this trip might be your very first selfish act.
"I still can't grasp what's happened. It feels like I could still get a light-hearted e-mail asking me out to lunch at any moment - after you've made sure lunch wouldn't disrupt my schedule, of course. You can invite me out whenever you want. I'll invite you, too. So for now, let's plan on meeting again. You can call me up whenever you like, and I'll give you a call, too. I still have a lot to talk to you about, and if I come up with any particularly good ideas, I'll let you know.
"So let's meet again. No - I suppose we're already meeting. Right here, right now."
There have been signs of the developers being affected. The BotW team recently mentioned it (as it happened during the development). Miyamoto and Ishihara from TPC have also both talked about Iwata several times since then.
RIP.
He caught a lot of flack during his time as CEO, but the second that we lost him, we knew we'd lost someone really special in the industry. I hope we all consider that when talking about the work that people do.
ill have to look this up. thanks
When he passed away, there were moments wed come up with an idea which wed be excited to talk to Iwata about, Hidemaro Fujibayashi, the games director, told the New Yorker. Then wed remember he was no longer here. Miyamoto told me it was the same for him. Hed come up with an idea at the weekend and would feel excited to speak to Iwata about it on Monday, only to remember. The sadness runs deep. This is approaching spiritual talk, but we had the sense that he was watching over our work. That became a source of motivation, a drive for us to improve and be better.
Isn't he the reason for smash bros? He'll always be a god for that.
He was the one who encouraged Sakurai to convince Nintendo to let them use their characters for it.Isn't he the reason for smash bros? He'll always be a god for that.
