Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite Characters and Stages Roster |DT2| oh dear...

I think because it's playable there. Who knows, we may get a surprise reveal there too but I would rather it be shown off at EVO.

Fair enough. I can see if it is going to be D23 as playable with the other Marvel games. That said, I would like to still stand by my previous statement of how EVO and D23 are running at the same time and how on the schedules, there was no indicator of there being any panels on MvC:I or any other games (or if it was on there, I missed where that was stated) meanwhile we do see on EVO's schedule that Capcom will have a panel (or at the very least, will be talked about at EVO in a panel).

Don't get me wrong: If it turns out that (for some really bizarre reason) that D23 reveals MvC:I information rather than EVO, I won't complain (but I will question why they would go with a location that has a very partial focus on the game rather than at the place where you have FG enthusiasts that are expecting to get some information this weekend). If they reveal it at the same time though, I wouldn't see a problem there either. I will wonder though just how it will be showcased between EVO and SDCC since those are basically back to back rather than happening at the same time (to which if that had happened, that really would be the $64,000 question: Which would Marvel and Capcom favor if the two events happened at the same time? Not to mention that would have pissed off a good chunk of people if they were scheduled at the exact same weekend)

With the amount of stuff that CAN be shown off for Marvel (Gameplay reveals for previously seen characters, Infinity Stone demonstrations, story / rival tidbits, a new match video from "High level players", announcements of Tie-in materials, a tease of another one of the season pass characters, etc), you'd think they'd have a little something at every event approaching before release.

The only reason I have any doubt is because it's Capcom.

I actually want to see Gamora in action.

I'm still hoping for her to end up as Marvel's Captain Commando, allowing the rest of the Guardians to get representation in the game through her. I'll keep this hope until being proven horribly, horribly wrong, lol.

I hope we get a Piccolo announcement @ Evo.

I'm hoping they do announcements in pairs. With Trunks already being teased, seeing him alongside Piccolo wouldn't be bad. (Though I'd expect him to appear alongside someone like 17).

I think it's more "You gotta get them to buy the game before you push DLC"
Yeah, pushing DLC season characters now is like saying "Buy our incomplete game and pay even more to get what is missing".

SFV did same shit "Here our full price game with a shitty roster size, please buy season pass or grind for months".

Marvel's probably gonna want Star-Lord as DLC later, so the most I'd expect is a Drax assist.

Gamora being a summon-based character wouldn't really fit her personality/characterization. If any Marvel character were to take up the Captain Commando mantle it'd probably be Black Bolt or Mr. Fantastic.

The chances of Mr. Fantastic at this point are slim-to-none, so I'd go with Medusa summoning the other members of the Royal Family.

Gamora will no doubt be an acrobatic character with swords, guns, knives, and bigger guns.

I expect her to be closer to Cable than to Captain Commando.

Doom will totally be DLC, guys. Without a shadow of a doubt. No chance he won't be in. Not at all.

What do you guys think will happen after the next F4 reboot movie bombs? Will Fox finally listen to reason and try to sell what little value the licence has back to Marvel?

That's not how would likely work from my understanding. Fox has the rights, but they're still licensed from Marvel. All that would happen is Fox either doesn't make use of the rights, in which case they automatically revert back to Marvel (I believe after 7 years), or Fox gives up on the rights and they go back to Marvel early.

The only way Fox is making money from Marvel for F4 is if Marvel wants them so badly they pay to get the rights back early. I just don't see that happening given the state of the property right now... unless Marvel wants F4 in Phase 4 with Galactus as the big bad guy.

Trunks and Mech-Suit/Capsule Corps tech Bulma please. You need to keep the Androids together and announced 17 and 18 at the same time.

I think the best likely outcome with FF4 is that they bomb again with Fox and revert back to Marvel who folds them into the MCU just in time for all the original guys to retire, so you can phase out the Avengers and replace them with an up and coming Fantastic Four.

The bigger question is if Fox can keep making money on X-Men movies, since Inhumans looks like a garbage fire Marvel will be looking to bring the mutants back at some point to keep the MCU going.

After the success of Spider-Man homecoming, I think fox will try to work out a deal with marvel for fantastic 4 appearing in the MCU + solo films.

The license is literally worthless as it is for fox. Selling back to marvel, fox loses and marvel wins. If they do a Spidey-like deal, everyone wins, including the fans. It's a no brainer.

Seems like a solid deal all around. Marvel Studios makes the F4 relevant again, Fox gets the profits from the solo movies, & Marvel can use the likes of Doctor Doom, Silver Surfer, Kl'rt/Super-Skrull, & Galactus in other MCU films.

I expect her to be closer to Cable than to Captain Commando.

Could also throw in Mantis, Baby Groot, Yondu, or even Nebula chasing after her. It'd be fun to have a new assist-infused character that isn't exactly pleasantly working alongside every character that pops out of their moveset, but is even in direct confrontation with a few of them. MVC2 Jill and Frank West were pretty solid example of such a thing.

It'd also be a nice way to make another Gun X Sword character a bit fresher. There's armies of those, especially within this series. But it is more likely she turns out closer to Cable or even Deadpool. But I'll hope against that until the last second.

It'd be nice to see team / series-encompassing characters that aren't leaders.

Yup, right with you on that Bulma. Androids being together is great, but I could see them being split up for fighter introductions to focus on, say, the Piccolo / 17 mini Rivalry, and the Krillin / 18 Combat Couple angles.

Groot's already with Rocket, and the likes of Yondu & Nebula have potential as their own characters.

So does this mean I possibly have a chance of seeing a "Marvel's The X-Men" film series in my lifetime?

Because seeing the classic First Class team in movies created by people who don't (completely) disregard the original lore is definitely something I want to live to see.

There's some new footage from the Playstation Underground guys here. Obviously they're not high level players, but a few of them manage to pull off some creative stuff. I think the game really does look fun now that we're seeing direct feed matches, and I don't regret preordering it (minus paying $51 for it when it was $40 last week, Amazon Prime preorder refund aside).

If you had a preorder before it hit $40 it should reflect the $40 price now.

Direct feed footage PogChamp.

Like/dislike ratio and comments are a dumpster fire as expected.

That's why I said Baby Groot, which isn't repped with Rocket yet. And even if they make Yondu or Neb later, they could rep them now, and have them fully playable later. Especially if they had story mode models already made, that could be used for flavor already.

Heck, could even have MCU looks for one, Comic for the other. There's loads of potential ways.

but i was told capcom was hiding direct capture footage

Yeah, I talked to their support and they said that I'd be refunded the difference when the game ships. Is that true? I've never preordered anything off there before.

You should be. But i'd follow up with them when the game gets closer just to make sure.

You could argue they kinda are when this is like the first direct feed gameplay we've gotten. Which is well after E3 and CEO along with being on a playstation channel and not even on the official pages.

Matches like FChamp vs Justin Wong should've been the sort of stuff we saw via direct feed.

That's like thinking that after Fan4stic failed, Fox would have listened to reason.
Hell knows that it was seen as one of the worst hero films that has recently came out and what happened after that? Fox said to themselves "Well, 4th's time is the charm, right?"
and decided to make a sequel to the film instead.

Honestly, you'd think that if cuts had to be made, they could have at least salvaged Doom and Deadpool at least, right? You can at least argue that in a world where X-Men characters aren't seen in the comics as much as they used to, Deadpool and Doom are still seen as fairly relevant.

And it would be a pretty good argument too. Honestly, if they had just shown off the gameplay and not a teaser for the story mode (and not released the story mode in the way it was handled), at least there would have been a different tone to what everyone has with the game. Even those who went to E3 and played the gameplay demo questioned why the hell Capcom didn't just release the versus as a demo too and not the story mode if the versus build looks "better" in comparison.

Shin Shoryuken looks tight.

He was channeling some Satsui No Hado with that LVL3.

Should've just given him some Evil Ryu tools in a Marvel game but nah they gotta let him be like that forever.

Here is the GIF if anyone want it.

That actually make sense why Ryu got Evil Ryu costume (via preorder)

Game looked quite nice in the video. It's really just those few horrible faces that unfortunately capcom made sure everyone knew was in the game.

I still can't get past how awful the image quality in-game is. The lifebar looks so crisp, and the stage and model quality look terrible by comparison. Even if the gameplay is interesting, it makes me not want to watch it. It all looks like post processing crap, so it's totally avoidable.

It looks a lot better in that gameplay video. They probably showed it a little too undercooked earlier this year because it was a really nice surprise especially on that close up.

I wonder if any other moves got upgraded since December.

It's a big if it's an upgraded animation for level 3 or the animation only triggered during certain requirement. I wouldn't deny that I would be happy if we see some moves getting some kind of upgrades.

Strider's animal hyper need to be fixed since start-up camera seems weird.
