Vatican Detectives 2

This is playing it as straight as it can considering the weak writing, visuals and over-all presentation of the show. It has a strange allure to it in the way you might be enthralled by finding a B-movie in a garage sale and you watch it to completion.

I know it isn't good. I know it'll be forgettable. But somehow the awkward writing and music are endearing. The horrible OP is like one of the worst combinations of choir and rock that I've ever heard. Looks like somebody did a mash-up and never considered if they worked. The mysteries are solved in a very mundane fashion and the direction of the show isn't doing much with the murders to give it an oomph.

Very by the books. By the.... bible.

There are like 50 Fathers in that church they're investigating and I can't keep a single one of them straight lol.

Made in Abyss 01 & 02

I love what they've done with the music and sound in this so far. It really accentuates the mystery of the setting, which is beautifully drawn/animated!

Same voice actress for Regu as used for Killua! I picked up on that immediately, lol!

I think I'll keep at it, interesting premise and great setup for Riko's character arc.

Made in Abyss 2 was twenty minutes of solid worldbuilding and lovely art/music, plus about two seconds that I really could've done without. Onto the "don't recommend this to anyone unless you're SURE of their tolerance levels" pile it goes.

It was weird... that's some pretty extreme torture, and then she goes on as if it doesn't even bother her I guess? It's not the sort of thing that turns me off from a series. But it's fine, I get it if people are bothered.

It was established in the 1st episode as a thing that happens, and the montage establishes that it's still happening, and it least it's not happening out in public. But it's definitely a weird punishment and hopefully that'll be the last we see of it.

BLack Clover looks so good, and Im glad Yuno will get Haruka Nanase voice actor and hopefully voice.

Gamers 1 - well that second half turned it around for me. And being a person who also is totally non competitive and into games for story I did really relate to the MC. Curious to see where this goes given its not slapstick comedy like Frag.

Sakura Quest: 6

They focus on some more personal issues quick. Not sure what's up with Shiori, clearly she has some connection to the house but wonder to what extent, the owner doesn't care but she does enough to even lie to everyone. Then there is Maki, acting has been a sore spot for her but the attitude and running away was getting a little grating. Lashing out at Yoshino seemed a bit much as well, however saying Maki would do it without asking her was a little careless. Though Maki reveals why she's in such a mood, seeing her junior making strides above her can be a demoralizing thing.

Lol the Tokyo Ghoul live action looks better than the anime.

Although I am setting my expectations low since its a live action, but the latest trailer looked quite good.

AoT one is hilarious. The other way didn't really work as well, but that first was funny as hell.

Personally I prefer the second Eromanga Sensei one, particularly for the eromanga sensei mask dancing part and everything after, but both are great.

Chi's Sweet Adventure continues to be a joy 39 episodes in, and basically everything I want out of the Chi series. The sweet and adventure in the title are accurate, and the 3D looks great. I don't miss the 2D look at all.
In fact I'd say Chi is actually cuter in 3D
. And I've watched the OP a lot. Like, a lot a lot.

I'm also liking Princess Precure. Maybe not as much as Heartcatch yet, but I'm only 14 episodes in. It's pretty good.

Also finally got around to watching Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie. I dunno, I think I need to watch it again. Felt kinda light for a GiTS movie. Also, I wish they'd lay off the recreation of scenes and shots from the Oshii movies. Don't want 'em.

Code Geass: Akito the Exiled, OVA 1 - Current watching this right now. Shame that TV anime doesn't get to work with the same type of Budget that OVAs do because the CGI Knightmare Frames are actually pretty damn good here.

More or less confirms that Funimation will be dubbing it then. I see CR is now resorting to securing rights ahead of time to beat back against Amazon and Netflix.

So I've been out of the anime game for a bit and I started to watch Eromanga Sensei

What the fuck is this shit? It's like the most stereotype anime I've ever seen.

Did a computer make this?

No. The writer of Oreimo.
Oh god it all makes sense.

The show just keeps on fucking going.

There isn't even an attempt at trying to make it anything other than fan service.

Its the Rothko of anime. Sure it looks simple but when you really look and experience it you are just left with pure bewilderment.

People watching Eromanga and then later on complaining about it never ceases to amuse me lol

Why would people complain about it? Just finished episode 7 of it and it's still pretty good for me.

Less blatant and nonsensical fanservice than expected, but that's a plus in my eyes.

No. The writer of Oreimo.

That explains it. Oreimo was pretty good too. I'd honestly put it on the exact same level of quality and style. Enjoyable and addicting but forgettable outside of the amazing trolling quality.

I can only be glad the "punishment" scene was for a brief/passing moment of the show. It seems to go for a comedic tone but there's a multitude of ways to do better than that.

You know, if the architect of that wants to kill people he sure did a good job.

The whole town seems designed to weed people out.

A lot of its architecture is questionable from a safety point of view but to a degree I can still manage to appreciate how good it looks.

It's possible that the waterfall path was not something people use conventionally but just them taking it for kicks.

Wow, Altair anime basically stitched together scenes from the fist two chapters in the first episode, no wonder it felt disjointed.

Virgin Bahamut - Episode 15

Good show is good. Dragon things are dragon. Angel Meganeko is cute. Azazel is.... wait who is Azazel? Nowthatsanameihaventheardinalongtime.gif

So glad Lucifer appeared again. Sakurai's voice is so good. <3

Gundam Thunderbolt - Episode 8 (End?)

Good action. Good direction. Wait what the fuck is even going on? Turns out I forgot how ep7 ended, so this was REALLY confusing for the most part. Anyway, I would say that unlike the first season, this second season was a whole lot of fucking nothing. They introduced new characters, a new situation, but did FUCK ALL and ended on the cliffhanger that feels more like the beginning of a story than the end of one. Weird. Production values were still great but... yeah. Weird. Whatever.

So I'm just checking out Sakurada Reset episode 1 and

what the hell that ability doesn't make sense at fucking ALL!

If her rules are that she has to "save" before she can "reset", and the reset affects her too, how the fuck does she even know how this works (and that she has an ability in the first place) when she goddamn forgets all about it happening once it happened.

THIS DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE AND BREAKS MY HEAD

and I really want to like it 'cause it seems interesting.

Well...I caved and signed up for Hidive.com as it has a whole bunch of simulcasts I had no other (legal) way of trying. Plus it was a free trial and a way for me to finally see Legend of the Galactic heroes.

I had in the past said I wouldn't in part due to no apps. But I figured a free trial would allow me to sample these other shows at least. I actually found casting from my PC to my Nvidia Shield TV works pretty well. Video is actually better than expected. Though having to go to my PC to control video is awkward.

Love and Lies 1 - Ripping that hope away at the last minute was just awful.

Princess Principal 1 - Alright. Liked the setting and all. It made me think of Gosick, but that I couldn't stand and bailed after one episode.

Vatican Kiseki Chosakan 1 - Was pretty bored. An awful lot of uninteresting dialog. Think I'm done.

Made in Abyss 1 - I did really like this. Really enjoyed the look of it.
