lol, what's the equivalent of Leicester in the French league and when will they win the title?
Educate yourself. For instance, Montpellier won the title in 2012, for the first time in their history.

I think PSG can get a shot at truly challenging it if they get a good keeper and a more capable coach than Emery comes along and gets the best out of the squad. It's very unlikely they win it right now, even if you take Neymar into account.PSG could win CL. It's definitely not that unlikely as some of you want to paint it.
Other than that: Fuck FFP.
They can fuck right off.Who does Barca get now?
Dybala?
Going by what I read, I think Coutinho is open to a move to Barca, but doesn't want to force a move because he's feeling fine at Liverpool. Démbelé has openly stated he'd love to play for Barca, so I think that move is inevitable in a few years when they come knocking on Dortmund's door.Dembele always seemed the more likely buy for Barca, IMO. Coutinho will probably leave next summer if he wants to but it doesn't look like he wants to go or they want to sell this summer.
The "shitty League" Like some of you like to Call it had done better in this year champions'league than the mighty premier League, whose teams spends millions of pounds to buy every decent Players that Plays in the ligue 1 every summer

I know right?
Like Hazard and Kanté aren't coming from there and Arsenal isn't just a Ligue 1 factory.
If the Ligue 1 had the same spending power as the Premiere league most of the french team would easily beat the english one just off the strength of their youth system.
Agreed but what I saw this year from the youth national teams of England was pretty great. Very successful.
There's just one problem: They have to actually play at their clubs.
Lol at people who belittle the Ligue1, can't wait for Paris or Monaco to won the Champions league.

Going to play in a pointless league is the worst part of it
Modern football sucks.
Neymar going to play out his prime in a sub-par league. Yay modern football.
Can someone explain this to me because I've never understood it: Barcelona is the one who gets the $253 million, right? Not the player? Barcelona didn't make Neymar a great player, he already was one, why do they get the huge windfall from it?
Why is this a thing? From a quick Google, Neymar's actual salary is only 10 million Euro, so about 5% of his transfer fee.
Is there ever a point where a footballer gets free agency?
a) Neymar has a work contract with Barcelona that needs to be respected. The contract rescission does not tend to have a set value, which allows the club to negotiate. Sometimes they set a value for the contract rescission, which in this case it's the 220 M
b) Barcelona has the "sports rights" of Neymar, which means that they will only transfer those rights (to the Federation in which he will pay) if a team pays a big sum (usually the negotiated transfer fee)
I believe in Spain all players have a release clause. I could be wrong.
We could all debate it in the Footy thread
Why does there have to be something other than money when someone is making employment decisions?

Monaco just got completely raided and Emery has shown time and again he has no idea what he's doing in the Champions League. Neymar ain't gonna change that.Lol at people who belittle the Ligue1, can't wait for Paris or Monaco to won the Champions league.
As a Liverpool fan this makes me extremely uneasy. I mean I know Coutinho will go eventually, I'm more worried about the utter shite we will inevitably replace him with. Liverpool do not have a good track record of replacing their star players recently.
Torres - Carroll
Alonso - Aquilani
Mascherano - Paulsen
Suarez - Balotelli
Lol at people who belittle the Ligue1, can't wait for Paris or Monaco to won the Champions league.
You're going to be waiting a while my friend.Lol at people who belittle the Ligue1, can't wait for Paris or Monaco to won the Champions league.
Lets just call it what it is: Ligue 1 teams are basically just feeder teams for the Premier League.Like Hazard and Kanté aren't coming from there and Arsenal isn't just a Ligue 1 factory.
If the Ligue 1 had the same spending power as the Premiere league most of the french team would easily beat the english one just off the strength of their youth system.

4x less bad than Torres at Chelsea at least.Does this mean he'll be twice as good as Pogba was for United last season?
Falcao is doing great though?
21 goals in 29 matches last season in ligue 1 and 7 goals in 10 matches in the Champions League
Neymar was the true MVP during Barca's last CL run. Barca dun' goofed.
Transfer fees and agent fees are getting more insane each year. Some thing needs to be done because it's unsustainable.
And fuck Qatar. Happy to spend this amount on neymar while can't even provine liveable working conditions for those slaves building the stadiums.
Yup. Getting harder each season to actually watch it.Modern football sucks.
Messi will only play on that level for 3-4 years, so it's not exactly a huge amount of time where he could also learn more from him and grow further to establish his own status. Those numbers are crazy - as a Barca fan its sucks to see him goal but i can understand why he doesnt wanna stay in Messis shadow forever. And the amount of money he is earning is crazy.
Damn.
There aren't that many players that are moving without any monetary driving force. It's always gonna be about money first and foremost.Ligue 1 is just not a big league. This move is 100% because of money.
Good riddance and thanks for the 222m euros.
It's always an interesting topic, because barely any players is gonna return that amount of money with his influence both during the games and outside as marketing object. That doesn't even include his wages, PSG is ultimately spending nearly half a billion dollars for one player.
Financial Fair Play was pointless from the start and the whole procedure was an even bigger joke when they softened the rules.https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jul/31/psg-confident-deal-barcelona-neymar-plan-unveiling
Expected to be announced on Wednesday!
Wrong ? Right ? Financial Fair Play completely made pointless?
This does not even including his wages what are 30+ million a year....
He still wasted precious time at United & Chelsea when he needed to get as much time on the pitch as possible to get back in form. Such a shame :/ Hopefully Monaco will bounce back after losing that many players.Falcao is doing great though?
21 goals in 29 matches last season in ligue 1 and 7 goals in 10 matches in the Champions League.
You got no clue about the Bundesliga.I would compare it to Bundesliga. In Europe you get Bayern always at the top and once every 3-4 years a Dortmund team that ends up selling all the players to Bayern. PSG has built a good team even before Neymar. If they keep bringing money on the table they could be constantly among the top 10 in Europe with Monaco and Lyon popping up from time to time.
There isn't, but it's still pretty sad seeing so many talented players going to China for example, easily destroying alot of their future career potential only for money. Why does there have to be something other than money when someone is making employment decisions?
Dortmund is not gonna sell this season, unless Barca really shells out the majority of the Neymar money.French reports were saying Liverpool nuked a £90 millionbid today for Coutinho from Barca today but Liverpool reporters saying a second bid never came in.
Dembele always seemed the more likely buy for Barca, IMO. Coutinho will probably leave next summer if he wants to but it doesn't look like he wants to go or they want to sell this summer.
They're saying the truth though.Lol at people who belittle the Ligue1, can't wait for Paris or Monaco to won the Champions league.
You know Qatar Gov has nothing to do with the PSG right? that's like blaming UK's gov because the Red Sox would spend such amount trying to win the world series while they can't provide proper services for the disabled.
And they don't have the psg license iirc 😂Konami gonna have to redo the PES18 cover
I could have sworn PSG signed Alexis? Aren't they sort of a big money team that spends a lot but has never won the CL?

Isn't QSI owned by Sheikh Tamim.
European soccer has gotten so stupid. It blows my mind how sports in Europe are the Republican dream while they tend to be more "socialized" here in North America.
I don't blame Neymar for leaving. I wouldn't want to spent my time with tax evasion criminals or uncivilized floppers either.
