North Korea launches missile that passes over Japan

How can anyone downplay another country firing missile over another? Would it upset you if your neighbor did target practice in your backyard? Ridiculous.

My Twitter timeline has people claiming that people could hear the missile passing over their bedrooms (as it's still very early morning in Japan, most people would still be home at this hour).

This is fucking scary.

No one is going to start a fucking war over this. People saying that are stupid. People love thier comfortable life no one is going to rush and do shit to escalate anything.

Uh... wars have started over less.

And please don't patronise people and start spouting "clever" posts like you're in an Aaron Sorkin show. You're posting on a video game forum.

The panic crew in in full force I see.

I'm not holding my breath but maybe this'll finally get China to step the fuck up an do something about this. Last thing they want is for the regime to fall and get a bunch of refugees pouring into other country.

3 missiles? I guess this is the launch threatened for Guam but instead Kim picked another destination. I wonder how far will these fly. He wants to hit close to what?

The latest sanctions put them under existential pressure. The only response these lunatics know is to escalate even more.

It's problematic. It's not easy to intercept an ICBM. Missile defense systems like the ones required to kill a North Korean ICBM are not battle tested and even scheduled, official tests have failed before.

If Japan or South Korea try to destroy an ICBM and fail, it'd tell Lil Kim that they can strike any of those countries right away. Which he probably won't, because he's not a suicidal maniac, but it would only embolden him from then on.

I watch too many movies because i was fully expecting it to be shot out of the sky by some mds or some kind of military jet fighter.

Any clarification on the number of missiles launched?
3 is the latest number being thrown around it seems.

This is fucking scary. Though at least it seems the initial danger is gone. And also at the very least it wasn't flying over Tokyo, since the as bad as any nuke is, that would be one of the most damaging areas in the world to hit given how populated the Tokyo metro area is and how critical it is to the world economy

Is there something NK and GAF that just brings out the most ridiculously uninformed opinions? You can't even google has a missile flown over Japan by NK before for 30 seconds?

IKR. I asked that people here calmed down a bit and got dogpiled. It's worth remembering this the next time NK test fires one of its missiles.

NK fires multiple missiles at once all the time, idk why that part in particular is catching people's attention

Missile warnings on the highway signs, that's new.

We still have the same tools available as yesterday:

Diplomacy
Sanctions
Chinese pressure
Catastrophic military and humanitarian disaster

What if NK chooses option 4 for us though?

Because this is getting closer to that than I ever wanted to see. Kim is veering towards lunacy here. China needs to step in right now or options 1-3 are going to lose viability very quickly.

If you were woke up next to your wife, with your kids in the other room to a loud alarm (overrides default alarm volume) and all tv stations are displaying the emergency broadcasting warning, how the fuck would you feel.

Would it be asinine to ask a medical question on GAF? You're right, I'm sorry. All of GAF are just a bunch of 7-11 clerks who play video games -- there's no one here who knows jack shit about anything outside of gaming.

C'mon bruh. No need to be so reductionist. And really, your post wasn't helpful in any way.

This is the silliest argument. Yes, asking for medical advice on a gaming forum is ridiculous. You can get general speculation what the issue may be, but you'll need to get professional advice.

I asked earlier an didn't get an answer: is this a pre announced NK missile test, or did it come completely without warning?

Should we be surprised that they had the balls to go over Japan. I mean, their missiles have failed before, what if it hit Japanese ground?

Wouldn’t that cross the line towards the end of their regime?

Interesting insight, but also worrying.
