Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

Not everything shows in the map right away. It opens up as you progress and compete different activities.

They do show up in the director, and at first I saw only one but soon after exploring they were popping up too fast to do them all

Sounds perfect to me, thanks! I've mostly stayed on media blackout leading up to this, so a little confused to how it all worked now, but definitely seems like a huge improvement, so excited to see it for myself later on today.

I haven't actually re-done them yet, but it seems they pop back up in place of bounties. I remember seeing some from an NPC, can't remember which, 2 were available, another couple said they were already on the map.

Do they randomly appear or are they in set locations that you just have to find? I didn't notice when I was playing last night.

Wait ya can’t do them again? So what do you do for patrols?

They appeared for me after completing parts of the story mission. Mild spoiler:
for example when I completed Titans main missions and could move onto the next planet a few adventures popped up for me
However after I completed the adventures they disappeared from the map for me.

You can redo them. Just head back to the field Commander in the area.

Wasn't aware of this, I guess once you hit level 20 they show back up? I haven't had the option to re-play them yet.

Is there anything equivalent to dead ghosts to collect? I don't imagine it was all that popular, but I always enjoyed searching for them.

What's the reason the PC release is still 47 days away? The Beta seemed to include all the options a decent PC port would need.

One thing I'm a little annoyed at is that story/bounty progress seems to be buried in the director. Was hoping it would be the same as in destiny 1 where you can track these in the ghost.

Maybe that comes later... but right now you need to go into director, then map, then hold L2 to see mission status and progress. Not a big deal but a little annoying that it's not quickly accessible...

just starts it and probably notifies everyone in the area of the event

Didn't start it for me, rather just put a timer on my screen to show me when it starts.

Haven't seen dead ghosts but if you look at the map there are icons that look like a ghost. These are scannable objects.

i really don't like that they made the Shotguns Heavy guns, i understand that it's because of how overpowered they were in PvP, but that affects PvE as well

Actual fun stuff. No more ghost scanning while you fend off waves of enemies, which was, essentially, all of D1's story missions.

It really is dramatically different than the original. It has story beats, characters, emotion, tons of hidden secrets to discover... and I'm only on the third mission.

I do not want to read this type of stuff! Stop! :D I WILL NOT buy this game!!

Hit level 20, time for a nap!

I am kind've confused as to why leveling up happens so fast? I didn't finish the story, did two strikes, no multi, barely explored the worlds... Yet I'm at max level already? Seems like it could've been slowed down a ton... Especially considering every weapon you get you replace almost immediately on the next drop anyway. Just odd how fast this is all happening, I don't recall Destiny 1 having such a fast leveling system, but maybe I'm wrong?

Either way, so far loving the game!

Wish they would announce that its coming out earlier but i doubt that

Same, like I could understand if the Beta wasn't quite there. But the performance looked stellar on a lot of peoples machines plus all the graphics options and keybinding options etc etc were all there.

Cynical part of me thinks they're trying to get people to double dip.

My guess is that they need to take extra time to balance the game for PC, because the PvE missions in the beta were astoundingly easy with a mouse.
Also, to get suckers like me who bought both copies.

Well that sounds rather good then. Maybe I'm gonna have to bother with it after all. But I'll wait for the One X launch for sure.

Story missions don't really feel fun when playing them a second time, better spend your time on Patrol or Strikes to be honest.

But first time around they are fun though?

it's prob like a check in feature

That is just the problem with Destiny. I wish they would separate PVP and PVE but there are good reasons for them not to do it.

However... When was using a shotgun ever a good idea in PVE?

I ordered the collectors edition of the strategy guide.

I know I have a problem but it looks really damn good. It is only 23.99 on Amazon, 39.99 at Best Buy...

I veered a bit off the path in the EDZ last night and the enemies were significantly tougher. I was being one-shotted like nobody's business.
Then, the enemies swarmed against each other, right as a public event triggered. It was mass chaos and I couldnt stay alive for more than a few seconds, lol.
There was also a high value target roaming around the area. There's some really good challenge out there in patrol!

So what is the shader situation now? I've heard that
each armour component can have a different shader applied but applying a shader uses it up so you can't store shaders and mix-and-match.
Is it like this?

Gothalion already has 7 Exotic guns.

Why does Bungie refuse to make their rarest guns....rare.

This was one of my biggest frustrations with D1.

Release console version looks to be just as easy as PC Beta was. Both versions have tweaked enemy HP values so enemies die a lot faster now when compared to PS4 beta.

To be fair, he's probably already been playing for 20+ hours. In most games, you'd be finished and unlocked everything by that point. It's just the manic pace that people play this game at that skews that sort of thing.

But first time around they are fun though?

Hmmm, some are, some aren't. I know it sounds like a meaningless answer, but I enjoyed maybe 4/5 missions and found the rest was really boring.

The missions taking place on specific places, aka not Patrol zones, are quite good, but there are only 3/4... There rest is fun if you combine story missions with exploration, so don't rush them.

I would say I don't really understand people saying there is a Haloesque scale here, as I don't feel it (except for the 2 last missions). Most felt boring and repetitive, but I think it's okay for Destiny as story missions aren't where the game shines.

One thing has disappointed me already if I'm not wrong... Can you lose shaders/transmat effects? It seems removing one from an item deletes it instead of just putting it in your inventory.
Seems ridiculous you lose shaders/transmat effects forever seemingly?
