Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

By any chance are all of the items you're talking about maybe using a zone-specific shader and being acquired in that zone? :P

The Crucible has unique ones as well.

So all gear I pick up in the EDZ has that green shader applied automatically? And the lame blue one on Titan?

What can I do if all my preoder bonus stuff is installed and doesn't show up in game? I've restored the license and done all the steps but nothing works. I've also completed the campaign.

I'm still a bit unclear on how adventures work, and it's bugging me that I don't understand it.

During the campaign I would complete all the adventures on the planet because they offered gear and upgrade points. After that they disappeared off the map completely. This morning I noticed that some popped back up and also the EDZ planet rep vendor had an option to replay some of them.

Do these just re-set daily, or are always available as a means for something to do when bored or to gain rep coins/tokens...?

You need to be level 20 to get that stuff, and it gets delivered by different NPCs. If you're level 20 you should jump around and talk to different vendors.

Haven't had much time to play. Only got to level 7. Work all day, going to shoot my AR, and then seeing IT tonight when really I just want to progress.

It is really good so far. I like the adventures much more than the old patrols.

So for the ever verse how do I get bright or whatever it is called? I just hit level 20 and only reached Nessus so far in the story for reference.

So, I gave about 20 odd EDZ tokens to Devrin last night - I think a reputation level levelled up and it looks like a legendary engram became available? Do I have to be max level to take advantage of reputation currency?

Yes, go back to him at 20. You might want to save your faction rep turn ins until you level your power up a bit as well.

You won't be able to accept them until level 20, also these engrams will scale power level to you so it's in your best interest to be a higher power level when accepting them.

Me... I just opened them when I could.

Do we know the target light level for the raid yet? I need to know how much work I have to do.

I am enjoying the story so far. I just got the mission to go to.
IO
. It is really easy to get side tracked though. I am hoping to finish the campaign this weekend. Also, hitting level 20 was great since I was hording so much stuff from the planets I was on.

Not really a fan of the whole shader one time use thing. I like to switch it up.

Subclasses can unlock as early as lvls 7 and 14. My friend got both of his at those levels.
Right, I thought I had already fixed that but apparently not! Thank you for the catch.

Lol yeah

You are free to replace them, I mean, if you want to go spending shaders on blues lol.

Just enjoy the ugly gear before the legendary cosmetic endgame begins man XD

You definitely can't just redo them like immediately after beating one, but they seem to have some kind of reset. Dunno if Daily or otherwise. They do still give rewards and someone who tags along through to completion with on one will get rewards even if they didn't have that adventure available on their map (cool)
Cool thanks. Also does anyone else have the well rested bonus on? I have it but for some reason my friend doesn't. How did I even get it?
You get it at the beginning of each new week, and it gives you bonus XP for the first three levels (Bright Engrams post-20) you earn that week. I should add this to the tips post as well lol.

When did he start to play? I think the weekly reset took place on Wednesday at 5am even though normally it will be Tuesday.

I haven't had an issue crashing on my pro until I opened up the patrol quest from Cayde in the gulch at EDZ. Within 3 minutes of fast traveling there my pro crashes. I've tried 3 times.

I'm thinking 270-280 since there is a quest line that recommends 260 for it.

Nightfalls unlock at 230 though so it could be closer to that. I would hope Bungie would do a launch update tomorrow and give some details on where people should be to at least be able to access the raid.

Hey DGAF, I hopped off the Destiny train before Rise of Iron and I'm looking to get back in once the PC release hits but I've got some questions that will determine when I pick up the game (day 1 or post expansion) I appreciate any answers.

  1. How bad is the resource (spin metal etc) grind?
  2. How's the postgame (Nightfall/strikes/dailies)?
  3. How much content is in the base game? Like how many planets/patrol zones, missions, strikes, etc. compared to Destiny 1
  4. Does the bounty board return and if so are the PVE/PVP tasks a pain in the ass?
  5. How does progression work once you're max level? Same as D1?
  6. Is the pre-order exotic good? (going the PC route so I can still pre-order)
  7. Is the PS4 only content vital or totally ok not getting to experience?

My plan going forward:

  • Continue and finish campaign while at the same time do public events to gain access to other two subclasses.
  • Strikes/Patrols/Adventures/Lost Sectors
It still hits me that, unlike Destiny 1, I have SO MUCH to do after the campaign. Basically saving exploring and multiplayer PVE until after the campaign.

Man I'm loving that sword you get after doing the story mission--the one that is angled low and behind your back.

This is my go to power weapon.

You're the best man

Reading about some of these exotic quests has me excited. Need to level and grind faster but you know, real life responsibilities are shit.

Do you get more reputation for turning in the tokens in larger groups? I realized that I had a bunch of EDZ tokens at my first turn-in and I was able to turn in a group of 5 at least.

I haven't had an issue crashing on my pro until I opened up the patrol quest from Cayde in the gulch at EDZ. Within 3 minutes of fast traveling there my pro crashes. I've tried 3 times.

Took me an hour to get through the first mission without crashes and then as soon as the second starts I can't even stumble down the rubble without the system hard locking.

I've contacted Sony and they said they won't do anything until I re-initialize the console. Only problem with that is I've got about 2TB worth of digital games and running the Initialization process will wipe everything. They don't seem to care about bandwidth caps, what you may have already tried, how many people have already tried what they recommend with no better results, or the fact that this exact issue was present in the Beta.

Some people are saying a new PRO has solved this issue, and other people have tried that and still had no luck.

Personally I've never had a problem with any of the other games people are claiming are related to this issue. Tomb Raider, Diablo 3, Fallout 3, all work fine for my system.

Bungie's only response right now is that they're "Looking into the issue" and that's about 3 days old with no updates.

TLDR... Sony don't give a fuck and Bungie ain't talking for now.

So what are these meditation missions? Can only do them in a fireteam as well?
These are what errybody talking about how easy the Campaign was are looking for, but I don't know the details yet. Ikora is the relevant NPC but so far she just told me of their existence. I haven't beaten the campaign so you may have to do that to access it.

  1. Literally does not exist in any form anymore.
    How's the postgame (Nightfall/strikes/dailies)?
    Dunno yet

I dunno, lots, in terms of raw numbers it would probably be misleading to match up (still 4 open world zones, I think 5 strikes) but everything is much denser. There is stuff that didn't have an equivalent in D1, while at the same time stuff that was in D1 but didn't matter is relevant here. All the environments are much bigger as well

edit: Feels more like Launch destiny + TTK already in terms of breadth
Does the bounty board return and if so are the PVE/PVP tasks a pain in the ass?
    Dunno this yet
How does progression work once you max level? Same as D1?
(Mostly) the same as ROI-era D1, which is to say nothing like launch D1. We also don't know anything about the impact of the raid and other endgame stuff like Trials on progression.
Is the pre-order exotic good? (going the PC route so I can still pre-order)
Looks like fun, you can still acquire it in Dec. if you didn't preorder.
Is the PS4 only content vital or totally ok not getting to experience?
Dunno this one yet either. I'm sure it's not vital.

I think it's just a convenience thing, don't think it totals up more or anything. But yeah you can turn in massive stacks all at once

I'm pretty sure mods are equivalents of WoW enchants. You can always override installed mod with a new one but it will delete the old mod.

No, you can't remove them, at least with a rare mod it is just replaced and you lose the original. They are consumables that you acquire in large quantities.

And I can answer why it isn't clear and why it's being downplayed at the same time I think...

a) Legendary mods aren't like, something I can even make the choice to have yet
b) Most people don't yet have full loadouts they like yet that they are sure they want to mess around with modding
c) Rare mods at least don't have that much impact at all (all the buffs are slight), except changing element which is self-explanatory

so it's just not a big part of the game for me yet. You say "especially for the long-term" like we're supposed to fully grasp the long-term now, the game legit came out yesterday

Seems to be lots of confusion about the system right now. I'm assuming they're one use items that are "overwritten" by new mods.

It does look like getting a perfect mod build is the endgame. I like the sound of that since I like that I'll have a good version of a gun/armour that becomes "better", rather than celebrating that I got a cool legendary only to immediately realise that the perks are trash so it just goes in the trash pile.

I think I'll be jumping on the heroic events ASAP. They seem like an easy and fun way to get some good loot/XP.
I'd hate to be the noob that inevitably kills the event boss before all the L20's can do the heroic activation though. I think the *slow clap* emote will see some heavy use.

Wow...

Welp... i'm surprised the shader freakout has happened before any mod freakout... especially after all the "no more random stats/perks on drops!" reaction. They just replaced that with something new. Something you can alter, which is a plus, but it's all going to come down to how you get the rarest mods, and if they will never add them to the bright engrams. And you can still get a different drop of the same gun with a better mod than a previous copy of the same gun... so things have not completely changed. A step in a better direction, sure.

If Bright Engrams remain blue mods and cosmetics only, they really held back and could have made this MUCH worst... and I personally have a hard time believing they won't go that route eventually...

On day 1, when everyone was freaking out over mods in the Bright Engrams, I never imagined they were one-time-use just like the shaders...

I turned in like 20+ EDZ tokens at once cuz I didn't know what they were for originally and instantly maxed it in one shot.

Me... I just opened them when I could.

I got about 100 coins in a day so I got the levels fast, also, DISMANTLE ALL BLUES once you're 20 and have a set loadout since weapon parts now work toward leveling up on the weapons vendor in the farm.

Every 10 Tokens at the moment fill Half the Rep bar for me

Either it stays like this meaning 20 Tokens Roughly for a Rankn Up Package or if Power Level surpasses certain point it triggers for more amount to Rank Up (probably, guesstimating here)
