Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

Was reading a leveling guide on Reddit and apparently it's advisable to just grind public events until your level 20 in the EDZ and then do the story so the blues that drop for you help break past 270?

Then once you do the story you should be able to jump straight into the side quests and exotic missions, and all the weeklies and be nearly raid ready.

I'm level 8 already and I just got to the second planet so I might just grind it out for a few hours until I hit the cap and then pick the story back up.

Wait really? The blues could help get you to 270??
 
So, I dunno if I imagined this, but is it possible to remove mods before you dismantle gear? I'm not that far in and so far it doesn't look like it's possible but I swear I heard it in here earlier. :D
 
I don't know why but I'm not feeling the Titan like I was in D1. Not sure what it is. I've tried all 3 sub classes too. I know I don't really like the shoulder charge change.

Guess I'll try my second favorite class Hunter and see if I like it more.
 
Yo, midnight talon (i think that's what it's called) shader on the eververse gear set for Titans is so fresh, so clean. Metallic grey and gold accents with those embellishments, lord!

No, you can't pull mods from gear once they're slotted as far as I know.

Well I've been wanting to level my lock, I'm going to try this method. Hopefully there are people in the EDZ to do PE's. I swear half the time I'm there doing them alone.

So far void is the only sub class i’m enjoying. Really disappointed in Sunbreaker, so i’ll need to give Arc another try.
 
I just realized, I've been hurting my progression by scrapping all blues that I get even if they're higher than my current equipped legendary.

I may be dumb.
 
I keep getting a bug where when I travel to the tower from "not orbit" when I arrive st the tower it's a black screen but there's audio.

Also-huge thing for me-
Cayde's chest finder consumable
+
Planet specific Ghost with resource locator

Just travel around doing patrols and all of sudden you're rolling in tokens.
 
The regular strikes, are no joke the first time you do them. I've done 2 (no spoilers) all 3 players level 20 with decent power levels but we were just randoms and it took multiple attempts on each boss (5 attempts for 1, 2 for the other) they require considerably more coordination. Also makes sense as to why there is no heroic level ones, there doesn't need to be. The normals are brutal lol
 
I've just hit 258, about 30hrs game time so far but I'm back at work tomorrow so I won't get to play much until Wednesday.

Any leak on required raid power yet?
 
A door in what seems to be the final story mission just shut and cut me off from my co-op partner forever.

Quitting and rejoining the team fixed it.
 
I wasn't really feeling the sniper rifles in this game but man I just unlocked the MIDA and it's so good.

Really miss my Red Death though.

280 seems really high. You would have to get VERY lucky with your powered engrams to hit that (Unlike me who got multiple items for the same damned slot) and even then. I feel like 270 is a closer number. I've worked my butt off since launch and I'm 269. Spent hours farming engrams got a lot of exotics. Saved my marks and weapon parts for when I got to 260.

i meant like is there an in-game thing where it says "so and so wants to do nightfall join up" or can you put out a calling for people to join up for a group?

edit: oh shit yeah forgot about discord. fuck. that's probably going to be the place for lfgs not this thread like the first game huh.
 
I'm about to hit 260. Do I keep on doing the same grind method to 265?

Can someone post me the most thorough leveling guide?

Dang yeah man always check the blues haha. No shame in having half your gear be blues while you're climbing the power levels!

Once it's fully functional, you can invite players to your fireteam to play. Communication can be done via here, GAF Discord or a discord set up for your clan specifically

ok thanks. was just worried if i stick in a small clan of friends i wouldn't be able to group up as much but it seems that won't be the case
 
So I'm still pretty early in the game (level 14, power 140), and I just got a legendary engram from my clan doing work all day (yay!). It requires level 20, and says power level 204, but when would be the ideal time to take it from Hawthorne? ...would it be when I hit 20, or do I wait until 260 or something? I'm still a little fuzzy on the proper time to do things for the best loot.

I think I just assumed that the system just internally reads your progression and rolls you with what's appropriate.

Until I read everything here...
