He said that....but then there was the but. He basically took the same stance as boogie.

He said tons of people have accidentally blurted raciat words before.

He gives his opinion towards the end.

Says PDP is wrong for saying the N-word but doesnt think he is racist

"This show is a conversation so I pass the question off to you viewers..."

*Next episode proceeds to agree with all the ones that agreed with his initial video and tell the others they're wrong*
still complaining about the media reporting on felix over the anti-semetic comments, he's more worried about the ads and the dmca

"do i think Felix is racist? No. Do I think he should have said it? no"

fuck this clown

Philip DeFranco can't acknowledge PDP is a racist? More worried about Youtube and war against traditional media?

Fine.
I said that yall don't need faith to be a good person, but I guess I am promoting religion.

Alright, I am out.
Always the same thing...bring up faith, people always bringing it down.
Just trying to have a conversion about disconnected youths and how online promotes casual racism since the youths don't interact with their community in real life...

Edit: It is my wrong for saying some of yall need Jesus.

I get what you're saying bud, I do. In my experience (more than half my life) religious people are just as bad though. Religion can set positive morals for many, but as in any situation, education begins in the home. Religion doesn't always make a shitty person better, I've seen my fair share of scumbags within the church.

I think people are pushing back because religion really doesn't matter, I'm not anti-religion by any means, but if people are being brought up a certain way and exposed to certain things, they're going to behave how they like regardless.

DeFranco is just like Boogie and all these other clowns where they're more worried about their videos being taken down than actually spending time to attack the fuckers like JonTron and PDP that are putting their videos in danger in the first place.

I really don't get it. Why are these people worried about videos being taken down? Just don't be racist or hateful. If no one else can talk like that in their work place then neither should they. Why do they want a free pass?

These people get paid way too much and it's gotten to their head. A lot of them make more money than the game creators themselves, and they have the power to change someone's life with one video whether for good or worse, and they can't handle that.

They care because they think they're going to be targeted next. Yet they don't have shit to say with Anita Sarkeesian is having her videos mass reported by man babies.

People of "faith" were the number one reason LGBTQ were treated like second class citizens in this country. Religion has been behind many of the most vile acts performed against mankind. You don't have to be religious to be a good person and being religious doesn't make you a a good person.

You know there are a lot of racist religious people? and churches tend to drive young people towards homophobia, right? Right? Faith doesn't mean you are a good person, faith can in fact drive people to be horrible people. I mean there's a fairly large terrorist organisation in the US that grew from religion.

Why are people so quick to say he isn't racist?

Like...is there something I'm missing? Do tons of non-racist white people have the n-word as a part of their regular vocabulary?

Because look at the like to dislike ratio in that video. It would be reversed had he said the opposite.

Only thing I can think of is that they also use that language in private and don't want to consider that they themselves might be racist.

It sure is hard to be a racist for some, you must wear a t-shirt with a swastica and say out loud that hates Black people so the n-word turns to be racist

Because people who are "mildly-racist" think to themselves, "well I'm not as bad as Hilter, or the KKK, or those guys marching in Charlottesville, so I must be ok" after all, those are the real racists right?

He is a massive star in the industry. What's LOL about it?

It makes the industry look pathetic tbh

Pretty disappointing

How many times are people going to say "Pewdiepie should learn from this and grow as a person" before they realizing this keeps happening and he's not learning from any of his mistakes

At some point enough is enough

The guy is damn near 30.

This is feeling eerily similar to how Trump used "locker room talk" at the tender age of 59.

The industry and it's culture is pretty pathetic to be quite honest.

I think so too. They are in a position where millions of eyes are watching them. There should be no excuses.

I guess it's Naiveté? Someone like him won't even have a chance at learning and growing unless he actually loses everything because of this. I'm pretty sure even if his channel is shut down he'll just take the money and run.

137 fucking page for PewDiePie! LOL!!

Are you next?

I am a white dude who has grown up in an extremely white community and I have NEVER heard anyone use the N word accidentally, in anger or otherwise

I don't know why this has become a common argument like its an everyday thing

Two things you need to know about modern racism:

1) It hides behind the auspices of jokes and trolling and "telling it like it is" in an effort to have plausible deniability

2) It hates being called racist

He is a massive star in the industry. What's LOL about it?

People discussing racist words vs racist intents

the effect that a sincere apology can have on an accidental slip up

the issue of fence sitting

and asking for suggestions of other youtubers and personalities

etc

but people will see what they want to see: 100+ pages of sjw outrage on neogaf.com

It's crazy. You have a bunch of people who are so adamant in their defense of this YouTube celebrity that they're willing to throw white people as a whole under the bus to protect him.

Trumps treasonous 38 year old child is "a good kid with good intentions". Apparently if you're white your a kid from 1-65 and then you go straight into a "grandparent from a different time", that way, you never have to actually take any responsibility for your words and actions.

Just want to echo this. I grew up in a wealthy, overwhelmingly white suburb in the midwest and this is not a thing.

Some of y'all need Jesus in your life.

With the internet making fun of religion and how science and technology facts>faith and belief, this generation is so full of apathy.
You can accept hard cold knowledge while acknowledging that faith is something else that allows humans to continue to put their heart and belief into it.

Growing up in a religious household allows me to connect with people and showing empathy to them, and being respectful to other and treating them fairly.
Sure, you don't need religion to be a good person.
But it helps due to the routine teaching and the everyday community you are always interacting with.

However, the internet and technology have disconnected us in real life.
Most of us rarely go to Sunday Church or religious events, we stay at home.
We don't even interact with other humans unless they are our family and co-workers. Even if we do interact, we stare at our cellphone most of the time.
Watching Netflix, HBO, NFL, playing games on console/pc and just simply enjoying the digital lifestyle.
So many of ours youths just go online to troll and being respectful to people by creating endless racist memes.

I mean....okay?

I have seen people 100% seriously take that position

For a lot of people being called a racist is worse than being one or doing something that seems like it is. There is a reason that some people that actually are say "I'm not a racist!" or say " I'm not racist, but..." .

lol you guys are always surprising me

No! 137 pages for how to deal with the very real problem of racism in our society.

Yep the fact that people say "well that's a common phrase said by other people in Pubg so PDP might've just let it slip out" shows that this is worth discussing and condemning. It's an immensely gross part of gaming culture that it gets thrown around so liberally. PDP as one of the biggest gaming celebrities and a grown ass man should learn that as should a lot of gamers.

Not surprised there are a lot of people (wrongly) defending this as not being racist and acting confused.

Wouldn't be surprised if quite a few of them grew up being sheltered on racial issues and were weaned on a study diet of screaming "f**" and other horrible shit into their xbox mics.

He's the biggest media personality on the internet

I don't really see why that matters, what are you gonna say about him that there should be that many pages? its not like anything he says is very insightful lol. it seems like 100 pages of people saying "he is a racist", "he isn't a racist", "look at those people that don't wanna call him a racist". As someone who is heavily involved in politics it just seems so silly that of all the issues in the world people are spending so much time on this. Seems just like those people who worry about violence in movies and games, or sexuality, they exaggerate the influence on society and freak out when there are better things to do. Though now I've started to do the same thing in wasting my time on talking about him so... make of that what you will xD

For a lot of white people, being called a racist is just as, if not more inflammatory than calling a black person the n word, if only because it doing so serves to completely strip away any authority, integrity or possible standing they would have in a conversation. "He's just a racist, nothing he says matters."

It is the only word that has the same power and bite that the n word has for black people.

Definitely seems that way. Like a bunch of people are resistive to calling PDP out because...maybe it means they have to do some self-examination themselves. Calling someone out is all fun and games until it suddenly means looking at yourself in the mirror. Until it means suddenly being uncomfortable.

The "but who hasn't said racist shit...." posts are quite eye-opening. No guys, that's not a normal thing. Some of us were raised better.

There is a gross lack of perspective for anyone who thinks these words are similar or have a similar impact. Like, your history teachers and parents failed all of you.

I mean, a 137 pages for the most popular youtuber on the planet. Yes.

It's news, regardless of whether or not you care.

I am often surprised by how often I hear my white or my asian friends use "nigga" in passive conversation.

You on a gaming forum. End of discussion.

There's always more important things to talk about than gaming.
