Listen, he should obviously apologize, no doubt. Can anyone here honestly say they've never said anything in a moment of anger that they immediately regretted and didn't truly mean? I watched the clip. It was clear he instantly regretted it and said "I didn't mean that". If this is a common occurrence with him I take it back, but is slipping up once in the heat of the moment enough to warrant destroying someone? This is coming from a guy that worked with a bunch of outright racists who said nigger constantly until I couldn't take it anymore and told all of them never to say that around me again. This pitchfork mob mentality is getting to be a bit much.

Come on bud. Not from the burner.

Oh yeah sometimes the N word just slips out when I stub my toe. Yep that's perfectly normal for someone who doesn't use the word regularly. Im not a racist guys

You know you done fucked up right? You know that right?

For all the (especially white) people who try to rationalise it are also people who've used "nigga" in their language. They don't want to feel guilty for the word being in their speaking vocabulary.

These are the people who say "words are just words" (Faze Banks, famous gaming Youtuber):

He deleted all these tweets where he said "nigga" yesterday.

Asshole will probably get his ass kicked by someone soon.

Yup. This is his mental gymnastics trying to find and justify a "both sides" excuse.

He is going deeper and deeper. Only a matter of time before he says some truly fucked up shit too.

You are implying he hasn't already. For me, he passed that line with he JonTron stuff and this.

The fuck? Who is responsible for this mass smear?

Racists who cannot bear that one of their idols was attacked.

Steam should do something, but they wont.

Every major figure in the industry should speak on this shit.

If we don't start calling a racist a racist and letting then bare consequence for their actions, this will keep growing ans growing.

It has been for years now, maybe now we can see some industry heads speak out on it.

Real conversation my black ass...

When you try to normalize this shit, you've chosen a side. Fuck him

Agreed. Boogie is trash.

Why are there so many cowardly Reddit radicalized edgelord diet racists? They like to pop up ever now and then and explain why racism ins't a thing and people should get over it.

He's says it again during that same stream and also says in response "I know noone watching this gives a shit".

Now look in the mirror and ask yourself why your going out of your way to defend such a person?

I've never used a racial slur in the heat of anger. You don't accidentally use the N-word.

Destroying someone? What are you talking about dude.

Yup. It's why I've definitely pulled back my interaction with this hobby. I don't participate in any other gaming forum but this one, I don't listen to any gaming podcasts anymore and I've stopped watching most YT and Twitch streams besides big conferences (Apple, Blizzard, etc).

Happened to me a while back. Used to be the guy that bought games on day one, read the gaming news websites, watch E3 streams with my friends, go to E3 and get excited about it, talk about it openly with friends. Then this whole youtube gamer shtick came along and all I hear or see about current video games is Gamergate, CS:GO bs, cringy memes and youtube gamers. That coupled with seeing how mainstream video games is getting too corny with ads and corp money pumping it. Slowly took steps away from this and just got casually involved with video games like here on neogaf and reading about indie titles and stuff.

Do you yell racial slurs when you get angry?

THIS IS NOT HIS FIRST RODEO

http://gizmodo.com/pewdiepie-is-still-doing-his-dumb-nazi-shtick-1793165336

I have worked in a lot of different fields of work throughout my life such as landscaping, manufacturing, warehouse, retail, portrait sales, packaging food, pizza delivery and more. And if I ever called someone a " fucking n****r" I would have been fired at any of these jobs and rightfully so. PewDiePie or whatever he calls himself, has millions of viewers to his stream and profits heavily from these streams so therefor he is in a position of influence and should act accordingly, and for him to even use that word in any context at all should have consequences just like it would for anyone else who used that word on the job.

Is this the first time PDP has done some obviously racist shit while streaming/on video?

No.

So no, it's not some random slip up, and if your worried about the mob mentality coming your way, maybe do some basic research before you throw out a comment attempting to offer defense to a racist.

I've said plenty of things in anger that I've immediately regretted. A racial slur isn't one of them. Things like that don't slip out unless they're in your regular vocabulary.

You are telling me you are surprised Dunkey is a dick? Just to quote the recent Waypoint article about his video in which he goes in on game criticism:

https://waypoint.vice.com/en_us/art...lems-long-before-dunkey-made-a-video-about-it

Yup that guy is probably totally on the up and up.

The guy's entire sticht is doing audio black face with choice photos for his thumbnails. I imagine he has to go through his videos and cut out quite a few instances of the n-word

I mean, you're not, but i'll ask you the same question I've asked everyone else who came to this thread with this mindset.

How many times should he be allowed to say racial slurs on stream in front of millions before it's a problem? Because this is like the 5th time. Hell, it's the second time THIS MONTH.

When does it stop being a slip and start being emblematic of a larger issue?

It was clear he instantly regretted it and said "I didn't mean that".

Yeah, he instantly regretted it by literally stopping the game, telling everyone to quiet down, take off his shitty headphones and look dead straight into the camera and formally apologise for what he said.....oh wait....He didn't. He just brushed it off like what he did was nothing wrong. a mere inconvenience. He probably "regretted" it because he didn't realise he was on air.

This isn't the first time he's done something like this. He can't get away with the "heat of the moment" argument when he's a repeat offender.

This is what I was looking for. I didn't realize he said it more than once and seemed not to regret it by saying no one watching cares. At the end of the day though, do you really think this outrage is going to change him or anything at all? I know everyone thinks the "you're giving it more power than it deserves" is a cop out, but it's true. That's also why I refuse to say "n-word" imo it's childish and only strengthening the power of an outdated stupid racist slur.

Here's a link to Boogie's speech about tolerating bigots:

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/174149200?t=32m51s

"If you were a straight white man, you had to learn to tolerate the African Americans who moved into your neighborhood...but along with that came the fact that you would also be tolerated...everyone would be tolerated, even people who were wrong, even people who were bigoted"

The equating of tolerating bigotry with tolerating being a human who isn't white really is some boogie-level shit.
Cause racists and being black are totally comparable.

Well done gaming "centrists"!

You played yourselves.

Post on you're real account racist.

Like fucking clockwork, another user playing "the poor PDP is the victim" angle. Fuck off.

Also, can't wait for the 2017 youtube compilation video featuring lots of seconds of their racist, piece of shit star, with #1 number of subscribers, proud speaker of the n-word. That should look PRETTY GOOD for the company's public image.

Isn't "nigga" a word the white youth is bombarded within Hip Hop daily? I'm not using it and i'm not in the "hood" scene, but i think theres still a difference how you use this word, or am i wrong?

It already has.

Also if you think the n-word is outdated in usage, tone or potency, you're either white, clueless, or both.

Maybe the outrage isn't going to do anything, but even so, what's the big deal if people are just talking about it on a forum? It's not like folks are talking about going to the guys home and beating him up.

you should tell all the people still using it to demean black people that it's outdated
