Face ID probably doesn't work for people with a darker shade.

I believe the camera uses depth rather than color to determine facial structure, so the color of your skin should not be a non-factor. This is just based on my understanding of the keybote info though, so take it for what it is.

To announce the future of the smart phone they spend the large part on Animoji. What about this camera shows the future? Edge to edge has been done. FaceID has been done before, but I'm sure Apple will be leagues above the competition on this part. But still. And that at 999. I have no idea what makes this a futuristic phone, worthy of that price tag.

Did they get completely blinde sided by Samsung and the S8? But refused to change their marketing approach and presentation?

At this point I'm more interested in the 8. Maybe I'll change my mind when I see and use the 8 in person. But I honestly don't get it. And I'm a bit sad, I was super excited to have my mind blown by Apple and the X.

Outside of their comical 4k HDR invention, I thought this was the best lineup they've had in years. I'm the opposite of a fanboy and I'm going for the X.

Usually they can get a product out in time. They failed this time. Absolute failure to wait 45+ days to get the phone. And that is if you can get it. Try 3 weeks after, so you are near DECMEBER before people can get it.

I'm mad because as a dark-skinned black person, it's important to be able to sell Face ID to someone like me because most of the time, that shit won't work. Snapchat has the hardest time trying to find my face in natural lighting. You can't expect me to believe this will be better without showing me.
