what in the world...

Dash canceled aerials + no lower dash limit. Morrigan can do it too, and FChamp just chained NINE heavies against a standing opponent with her in flight mode. Morrigan also has Sentinel-style jump loops off of an instant overhead. What a monster she is going to be.

All of the air dash characters are going to be able to do this.

My friend also sent me the picture for you.

I think I saw Green and Yellow color before, was it in TvC?

Very cool. Thank you both very much!

Yeah, Zero had a generic green color in TvC. Either it's a repeat of that or it's a character reference that might make more sense if we see the model. If I were to venture a guess at the character, my money is on Harpuia from MMZ.

latest

The fourth color is most likely the MMZ color from MvC3 coming back again. I'm not 100% because of how bright the purple is. It might be a reference to Elpizo from MMZ2.

That looks pretty similar to the Air hit -> Barrel throw stuff that Bum was doing with Haggar yesterday. Doing moves before you hit the ground seems to let the entire move play out, and with generous hitstun, allow loops and combos.

It really does feel like a lot of the SteWpidd of Mahvell is getting more evenly distributed with these systems and gems. It's pretty cool seeing character that would have been too heavy or slow to do this kind of stuff before, able to get in on the fun now, too.

I'm guessing in the Morrigan intro video that her dp being with kick was a typo???

Those videos are pretty good btw. Capcom UK has been doing a good job with this since SFV.

If the OT isnt titled "open world fighting game" or something similar I will be very disapointed in Enzo

This thought has had me pretty down on some parts of the game lately. They can add as much new content as they want but there are some parts of the game that, if they thought were issues, they would've fixed during development.

I could rattle off examples all day but I think most of you know what I mean. We're obviously never getting Japanese VO, they're probably never fixing the select screen, I doubt they'll ever have both P1/P2 have rematch/character select options, we'll always only have a single spoken win quote, I don't even think we're ever getting more than 4 colors to be honest with you. Some of this stuff just isn't getting fixed, look at SFV for evidence of that.

I gotta say....Capcom actually suprisingly has fixed a lot of "non-priority" issues in SFV that I did not expect them to do. Shadows, added stage transistions, better CFN menus, ect. I gotta say I totally get what you're saying, but I gotta say don't give up hope completely. They really suprised and excited me with a lot of those adjustments in SFV that I did not expect, those things really are important to the overall experience.

Oh god some type of lightning loops are still in. Finding them in FChamp's stream now. Dunno if they were confirmed to be in before this.

EDIT : Maybe not? When I turned it on it seemed like they were happening, but now I'm not so sure. Maybe only with time stone?

Because he's not Zero.

I think it'll take some top / noticeable player to really DO stuff with X, for people to jump on his hype train. He actually has a nice army of moves, and the special cancels into specials should make him almost as fun to play (but maybe more approachable) as that red coat wearing demon-slaying guy, but no one cares yet.
Part of the appeal of X is that he isn't Zero, to be honest.

I'll admit, I am not good at fighting games, but I look at X and think he's going to be able to do something dirty. He basically has short projectile rekkas and can mix it up which of his special weapons he cancels into. Just because you started with a Boomerang Cutter doesn't mean your second shot has to be one. His ability to cancel his Charge Shot into stuff might also be good.

So far my newbish plan for a team is "X and someone newbie friendly." Captain America, Iron Man, maybe. The tutorial vids for Captain America and Iron Man make them seem fairly approachable. Morrigan and Thor are also possible, but... Morrigan does not look like a secondary character. You learn her well, or you pick someone else. X is the character I want to learn well.

In the gameplay videos I've seen of X, I'm beginning to wonder if people just forget that he has Rising Fire. Down, down, punch. Even the tutorial vid kind of glazes over it. I just can't help but think that move is an excellent move to bust out when you tag in X and the enemy is in the air. Tags put you next to the enemy horizontally, so why not send a fireball straight up as soon as you enter? Heck with a Time Surge, I could see that be a simple infinite.

So why don't people use it all that much?

The tutorial vid is more for beginners. It even skips going over Ryu's Shoryuken lol

Was already known to be in. Though the scaling on it is awful from what we've seen in past demos, not sure what it's like in the retail build...I assume the same.

Still a great way to start up a reset/tag situation.

As someone who likes cheap shit...I'm liking the potential for X.

The stage transitions were shown when the game was officially shown problem was all those months of development they never added anymore until the game was out so I can't really give them credit for that.

That being said they might do the other stuff as Dlc sadly

Gotcha, well good that they're scaled. They were just way too powerful in UMvC3.

And holy shit Champ is going nuts with Dorm already. That moving ground spikes move is insane, and even more insane that it gives him the time to charge up another spell while using it.

Watching the fchamp stream and I can't get over how good this game looks to play. He and whoever he's playing with seem to be getting used to the counter switch mechanics and the back and forth is so sick.

I'm so glad Nova is back in this. Not being really MCU affiliated he seemed like he might be on the chopping block but he's an awesome character. Deserves a spot even on the reduced roster.

Man, Ghost's Rider's supers are so powerful now with the tag system. The spinning chain super pretty much takes up the entire screen for mix ups, and I'm sure the bike could be used for amazing pressure, especially with the full projectile armor, although I haven't seen it being used in that way really yet.

Ghost Rider in general is really seeming strong in this game. The fact that his partner can pick up off his chain hits so easily is sick. And he has some changes to himself as well that help him solo. Crazy how different he may play thanks to the gameplay changes. I loved him a lot in UMvC3, hype af to get my hands on him in Infinite.

Is anyone gonna stream some matches tonight? I can only watch so much training.

Watch Champ's stream. They're running matches now. It's good shit.

I wish the level 3 supers were way more creative. Thanos for example shouldn't just be punching somebody. He could throw a planet or so many others things.

How's the scaling when doing stuff like that?

Because if doing dash cancelled stuff outweighs some of the combos into supers we saw yesterday, looool

It's weird because some of the new ones look awesome, (Thor, X, Ultron), and some of them just look lame (I like the ending of Thanos' but yeah the just straight up punches at the beginning are dumb for someone like him). Also on top of that, some of the level 3's have been downgraded (Ryu, Chun, Dante, Arthur). Some new ones are cool, some are bad, some returning ones are great/better, some are actually worse. It's just not as consistent across the board as UMvC3.

This Champ stream.....my god. This game is ludicrous. Absolute insanity. In the best way. the amount of options are.....INFINITE. It is going to be absurd watching this game develop. I don't even know how commentators are going to be able to keep up.

I want to reach through my screen and slap the dipshits asking for tier lists right now.

Any combo that links a lot of heavies is going to be top tier damage because you are minimizing scaling.

LoL, I agree to the first part. Growign up, I'd always play Zero in games, and my brother Megaman, so we really got to personalize in each character. I never really picked him up much in MVC however, though I did enjoy him in TvC.

Anywho, I agree with X lookin' like he'll be doin' people dirty. The Boomerang cutter looks like wonderful utility, Ice hits give solid time to do MORE, and as you say, he can mix between them on a whim. This makes him sound like an excellent Lab character, but everyone focusing on the more evil and "badass" types first, so...

X does seem like the poste rboy for a beginner's intermediate character, so your observation sounds good to me. Being able to carry him with someone easier, while learning his specialization, should work. And semi-thankfully, his armor boost doesn't look like it makes him that much more confusing, it just makes what you've already learned better.

This particular design team just isn't up to Capcom's traditionally high standards. They do some good work at points, and you can see the beginnings of awesome things, but they're not solid.

Hopefully, the DLC characters show obvious improvements, as time goes on. If Jedah is an example of a late-process character, we should be in better hands.
