I kind of miss Verbinski's look. The filming style looks low-budget compared to his big sweeping shots and wider angles. I'll see it either way.
 
I didn't know Gore wasn't directing. Or at least forgot.

Yeah it does look kinda generic. Ian McShane will be awesome though.
Barbosa has 2 peg legs? :lol

Not a fan of Penelope Cruz either...
 
The writing looks less witty. Jack Sparrow's lines are not as funny as they should be, especially since he was talking throughout the whole trailer.

Also, from the other thread, I hope they don't spam the audiences with a ton of quick cuts with no pacing whatsoever. It ruined Prince of Persia and Sorcerer's Apprentice.
 
i don't understand why they've taken the one notorious pirate who was from a working-class westcountry background and stripped him of his westcountry/pirate accent.

looks like they've reduced him to "monster of the week" too.
 
Does Barbosa have a peg leg now? He looks really rough, I wonder if that's the result of him coming back to life? Would be an additional reason why he wants to go to the Fountain. Looks fun and feels more like Curse, being a standalone film and not part of some epic.

P.S. Yay to no Orlando Bloom.

From what I've heard he took a pardon and became a privateer. Basically he's a pirate, but he works for the King and promises to only attack other country's ships. He also has a peg leg now. I wonder how he got that injury.

I agree. But honestly, if you liked the second, you'd probably like the third one too. Seems to me that most people who hate the second hate the third, I rarely see any middle ground on that.

At the end of the third one, Jack has a map to the Fountain of Youth, so it's definitely a continuation.

i had no clue what was going on in 3, i need to rewatch it, it was just all over the place

Yes, I loved it but I don't read internet opinions before watching/playing something :lol
 
Meh. But then again, I've never really cared for these movies. I remember it took me like 10 attempts to finish watching the second so that I could watch the third.

That's not bad, considering two and three are pretty crappy.
 
First was decent, second felt overlong but occasionally had its moments, third was a bloated, needlessly convoluted mess.
 
First was good.

Second was a good lead up but ultimately fails as a movie because of the cliffhanger ending which lead to the

Third......which was absolute garbage.

i've just read so many bad things about it plus the fact that it's soooo loooong have made me lose interest. i have it on my dvr, though.

The final battle is a tad dragging.
Personally I watch it in two parts.
 
It looks good, kind of looks like if you took a trilogy of games and made a spin off story, but that is what the series needs right now. The main trilogy is done, now they can make stories in the extended universe.

Most teasers lately have been getting longer and longer. Really seems like teasers are just an excuse to put out quick and badly put together trailers recently.
