No Orlando Bloom? Check. No Keira Knightley? Check. Ian Mc-fucking-Shane!? Alright, I never thought I'd say this, but I am so on board for this.

Pretty limp trailer but the cast means this will automatically be better than the last two films, although some of Depp's line readings were a bit naff.

Was that Barbossa with the two wooden legs?

Looks ok. Penelope Cruz already adds wayy more class than knightly. You know, I remember going to see the first in the theater not really expecting much and came away severely impressed. I'll never forget that introduction of Jack riding in on a sinking boat.

Then they ran the damn series into the ground.

meh.. it looks kind of generic and uninspired

needs more keith richards

I think Keith's a bit too burnt out from all those years of drugs & booze to be good enough to be in front of the camera for more than an hour or two at a time, thus preventing any real performance from him. Yes, it'd be great to see him in a larger role, but alas, one can only be Keith Richards for so long before even God says "Holy shit, you're still alive? How?" Then the Devil looks at God & says "It wasn't me, even I have my limits."

Looks awesome... FU*KIN IAN McSHANE!!!

And why does P. Cruz always play the hot headed Spaniard??
I love it! This one looks like it's going to be a lot of fun. Seems more like in the spirit of the first Pirates movie. I've actually enjoyed all the Pirates movies.

Keira Knightly's a cutie, but I'll take a voluptuous Penelope Cruz any day of the week. Mmmm..

Looks like it's getting back to the roots of Pirates #1, which is awesome. 2 and especially 3 suffered from needlessly confusing plotlines.

Anyone think Bloom is going to show up in the third movie and get Sparrow out of some jam that he wouldn't be able to get out of otherwise? I think so.

Simple really.

Yep. I think all 3 are great but that's the order I would go in.

I always figured that they would use the Fountain of Youth to "resurrect" Bloom

ow stop with the stoning, I'm just saying!

For whatever reason, to me, Ian McShane looks like a 100% CGI character in this gif.

With hideous CGI Jeff Bridges avatars in this thread; no.

I'm kind of hoping this is good just because I like Ian McShane; but I ought to know better than to expect anything from a movie based on an amusement park ride. :lol

Looks like a lot of fun. Like Ive been saying all along, there is no way this one isn't the best since the original.

Orlando was in the damn trailer, only for second but he's there....

That's a new actor called Samuel Claflin. He's playing a character called 'Phillip'. I guess he's the new Will in the series to Gemma Ward's new Elizabeth.

Pretty much.

3 had a certain epic feel to it. No that doesn't make it a good movie by any measure, but the scale in this trailer being drawn back so far makes it look underwhelming and not even close to exciting looking.

It looks almost boring.

Looks like great fun. Less srs bsns and such than the other sequels (which I still love, don't get me wrong). Do want. I'm not bothered by the smaller scale because the core of Pirates has always been characters like Jack Sparrow and Barbossa. Epic action is just icing.

Eh, I'd say it looks tighter if anything, and hopefully better paced. I don't really think these movies need to feel "epic," it can still be a good action/adventure flick on a smaller scale.

Why is no Bloom a good thing? I thought he was fine in the movies...
So did I. Still, it might be refreshing to see Captain Jack interact with a different crowd (not to forget Barbossa) this time.

I liked him myself, thought he had a good character. I did like the story in 2 and 3, despite the convoluted scripting.

Looks like a huge improvement over AWE, although that's not saying much. I'm worried that it might be a bit bland, none of the shots in the trailer really stood out to me.
