Got to Target 6:15 local time, #11 in line. Now about 25 people. Seems like a few are scalpers

So it's 930 AM where I live (outside of Cleveland) and the Best Buy I went to had no one waiting in line. I was like, uh... what the hell. Not even any cars in front of the store, workers park on the side. Very weird, so I went to the Walmart across the street and they were sold out. Back to Best Buy I guess.
Cause they handed out all their tickets hours ago.

lol

Went to the toysrus I planned on going to. Construction on the road made me miss it by ... 1 person

Now I’m online at another toysrus and got my ticket. Now I’m waiting. Toysrus really come through ❤️😭

It won't. Any games that had slowdown in the actual SNES release will have slowdown on this, and it is more or less intentional.

Ah, it's actually kinda cool if it's intentional to stay true to the original release. I would have still liked a setting to have it run butter smooth, (but Im happy that I'm back on the snes, and still trying to beat my personal best on ghouls'n'ghosts!)

Once I get it set up properly and get some proper time with it I know I'm going to love it.

Well my walmart.com preorder I made on 8/22 has now been charged to my cc so I assume that's a good sign. Did anyone who received the backorder email have their card charged?

They might have given out tickets. My boyfriend was standing in line with a bunch of people and they gave them all tickets and said they had until 1pm to pick them up.

Wow, you guys were right. I walked up to the front door with 2 others and they gave us tickets and said we had till 1 PM to come get it, this is kickass. I'm going to the take care of a few things rather than wait in line for 20 minutes, this is awesome. Oh, and I got ticket 16.

My Walmart isn't selling theirs until 8 MST, limiting it to one per customer.

I've got a SNES with all the games on the SNES classic, so I'm getting one for my son a Christmas present.

Target also did 1 per customer for those wondering. Manager at the store I went to explicitly made sure we all knew that.

These dudes were in line at best buy and went to their car pulled out 5-6 stacked them on the roof then took a picture with everyone in the background in line not exactly knowing if we were to get one.

Might have been one of biggest scumbag moves ive ever seen. Taking my fking picture was one thing......kind of lucky I don't get aggressive for stuff but man I would have backed anyone else up that started something.

Got one in the trunk, one preordered at Best Buy to pick up, one arriving at the house and a Target ticket in my hand. Generally, myself and my friends are covered.

Did you cancel your Amazon preorder?

Can't, it shipped already. This is to cover if it gets damaged in shipping from the UK. Best case I know people in town who might not be able to get them since they work all day. They can have this one at cost if they don't get it themselves.

Someone in line at the Target next to me was saying a 24 hour Walmart ran out last night and she offered the guy in front of her $160 for the last console. Seems a little silly when the Target I went to only went through half of their 48 copies.

Was able to get one.

Quick question: Can the usb on an Xbox One power this? Was thinking of sending the HDMI through it and having it powered off of it if possible.

Yay/nay?

My Xbox One powered my NES Mini through the USB slot so I assume the SNES one is the same? I haven't got mine yet so can't test for sure but I'm gonna assume it's hopefully the same.

The Xbox didn't even need to be powered on.

Kinda funny in a way, them working together like that. :P

Still have a few hours until my wife can pick up my SNES Mini, I'm actually a bit excited for it despite having played 90% of the games many many times over already. I love my NES, it's why I started playing games to begin with, but the SNES was where Nintendo stuff started getting really 'meaty' experience wise, not sure how else to word it haha.

Mission accomplished! 5th in line at Walmart and was able to get the SNES at 6:05am
The purchase process was a simple in-and-out.

Set it up along with my NES Classic.

Now if you excuse me, I'm going back to bed.

EDIT: Got the Walmart.com order still coming Wednesday, so I'll see about possibly selling it here.

Just canceled my amazon order after walking into Target and bought two.

Amazon should be saying something or updating orders. Complete bullshit.

Not the greatest first impression.

Ive only tried Super ghouls'n'ghosts, but there times when the game slows down massively when there's a lot of action on screen.

The cables are also really short. I'm going to have to find a solution that doesn't have me Sat a couple of feet from my 50 inch TV.
Dat accuracy

Lol. I didn't expect the slow down to cross over.

Will try again with different screen settings to see if it changes anything.

Changing screen settings isn't gonna change anything. It is working as intended. These aren't ports to new hardware or something. It is an emulator successfully emulating a game.

I wasn't really expecting to get one, so I didn't bother going out. Hearing about the number of units some stores have, I'm kind of tempted to run out just to check.

There's a Walmart, Target, and BestBuy across the street from my work, so has anyone had any luck in Northern Virginia? Particularly in Fairfax?

Missed them at Target, didn't feel like sitting in my car at Best Buy for an hour. Meh. I'll just take Reggie's word that there will be enough supply or I'll just not get one like what happened with the NES classic.

"We're sorry, demand exceeded supply and we were figuring out how to tell you guys. Unfortunately we has to cancel your orders, here's a $5 promotional credit. Don't hate us, Thank you for being a loyal customer."

I remember from back in the day that the slowdown in SNES games, particularly early ones, was prevalent enough to be a bullet often fired in Sega vs Nintendo fanboy wars. Blast processing and all that lol

im waiting at mississauga heart land best buy. 21 out of 100 so far. not many people in line, if you hurry you might be able to walk in and buy one.

overall a much better launch.

Safe to say I underestimated how many people would be at target this morning I'm LA. That's on me haha. Probably 60ish people in line. Likely not getting one.

That would be swell if I didn’t get my order in the very minute they went up. The pre-order from them wasn’t done right anyway. A lot of people were confused by it and it didn’t even look legit. I guess it wasn’t.

Glad to hear people are having success getting their consoles. I went to Walmart at 10 to wait for it, we were 4th in line. Our Walmart got 24 of them. By 11:30 there were about 40 people in line, so some had to be turned away. But It seems Nintendo made good on their promise to bring more stock, its nowhere near as stupid as the NES classic.

Now to wait for my EU order from Amazon. Wont be here until the 17th.

Also.. 10 year old me could get all the way to the pirate ship without breaking armour. 36 year old me can't even get gold armour. I'm amazed how good I used to be at this. This game is so hard.

It won't. The object of (Most) emulation is accurate portrayal of a game on the hardware. It's the same reason StarFox (2) runs at like 15fps. Sure, that chip could run it faster, but it's emulating the hardware.

Edit: Boss just called out and we have a projector in the back... I guess I know what I'm doing for lunch.

My walmart order being backordered wouldn't be the end of the world, but I just want to actually know I'm getting one. I don't want this wishy washy nonsense of maybe it will ship if stock happens.
Hopefully the launch numbers are also a good sign for subsequent shipments to keep stock going over the next few months.

I just wanna play some soupy tendos, man.

I'm gutted, I missed out on all the pre orders but thought I'd be able to pop into Argos first thing and pick one up. No dice though, they were completely out of stock and not sure when they are coming back in.

I've tried Smyths and Toys R US also but the same story.

I'm based in the UK,

Played Super Mario RPG for a couple of hours. This is the life. As someone that managed to get a NES Classic, I'm definitely going to get a ton more mileage out of this. :)

I never owned a SNES as a kid, so there are quite a few games that I have never played before, like FFVI. Playing them for the first time with a SNES controller just feels right.

Managed to score one at Target. Amazon is so freaking lame, good thing those store inventory trackers worked.

Bring on the inevitable N64 Mini!

Got mine at Target this morning. The store had 52 in total. I heard from people in line that the Walmart across the street that opened an hour earlier only had 16.

got mine and my uk one shipped as well. walmart sold out but I was #12 in line and they had 82.

I have no interest in playing it anytime soon but glad to get it.
