Thank you! For that rewind feature. My first time playing mega man x and I had no idea how to deal with chill penguin, and I went in with 3/4 health. I died pretty soon after :(. Then it kicked me out to the level select screen and I was about to close my SNES and probably not give MMX another go in awhile.

Then I saw the rewind feature, clicked it. Dropped me back in the boss fight. I had to do one more rewind but I nailed it on my 3rd try.

I'm going to get shot, but Kirby's Dream Course is the elusive "bad game" on this thing.

I've played it in the past and never got in with it, and tried again just now. Level 1 was fine, but then level 2 things went to crap and then I fell off the edge. It and I just don't get on, and I hate it.

I think it's the kind of game that's boring alone but super fun with friends

KDC is one of my fave games on the thing lol. Spent tons of time on this when I was younger with my brother - and by choice (wasn't a situation where I didn't have anything else to play as often happened given how expensive snes games where - I didn't even own it, I borrowed it from my cousin who had plenty of snes games - he had loads of american rpg imports, but KDC was often what I wanted to play).

Yeah the best part of Dream Course is the 2 player which i imagine is why they included it.

Competing with another person for points and getting in the way is better than playing golf with kirby powers.

When the program comes out, the link method should be the usb cable that came in the box that you're using for power.

Ohhh wow very cool! It's almost like Nintendo wanted us to push this thing further with how easy and accessible they made it. Honestly confused they didn't make it harder in order to profit more from future Virtual Console releases.

For Chill Penguin,
when he is using his slide attack wall jump to avoid it.

Holding dash while wall jumping effects your jump arc and let's you avoid more attacks.

For his ice penguins, you can destroy them and shoot him while he's forming them.

For his jump attack dash under him

This is a new additional 48 bytes ahead of standard headers that is purely for ROMs on here, though.

But you're right, there's no reason to fret, it's not going to be so tricky that everyone gives up.
Unless the hidden message in the NAND

Enjoy this Mini,
Disconnect from the present, and
Go back to the nineties.

Wasn't meant to be a nod to the inevitable hackers, but actually a cocky chest thump "You ain't hackin' this shit!". (Which has clearly already been done with the addition of 3rd party emulators lol)

Fucking amazing.

Oh thanks for the tips. I just jumped on the wall until he moved away and attacked. I’ll play the level again and try things your way as well.

We were 2 persons and then on actual day time 29th we were 3 persons. Some walmart sold us extras so it was cool.

I am not bragging but I once bought 400+ Ipads all on my own and I felt proud and it was a very nice paycheck. So 23 is not very much but each store was still very limited in supplies and there were always a good number of people waiting for them.
Check out Ella Bands over hea.

On the US/EU consoles I don't think there are a single bad game in the lot. F-Zero is a little slight and Star Fox is super dated at this point (Star Fox 64 is basically a straight remake of Star Fox, but with a good framerate and more meat on the bones) -- but the other 19 are unqualified recommendations IMHO. If you have a Japanese console I'd also skip Super Soccer, which is a pretty weak launch-ish title.

The one thing I'd say about your plan is that you have three action platformers (Metroid, Castlevania, and Mega Man). You might benefit from mixing it up a bit if you're eventually going through all the games. :)

Yeah, as I said earlier, I really hope people aren't so focused on adding more games that they miss the fact that there are absolutely spectacular games on here already.

Rewind feature???

Played Super Metroid first. Surprised at how much I still remembered, but also died three times. Definitely suck worse now too, and finished at 3:58, which is 1:40 away from my best time. Also noticed some slowdowns, which I don't remember on SNES at all.

Then I played Mega Man X, and while I do remember some slowdowns on the original console, it's significantly worse on the Classic. I also got to the hadouken capsule and totally forgot that I needed to keep dying and doing the jump three times... even left the level the first time thinking I'd missed something else.

Already ordered extension cables but wireless would be nice. Kinda pricey though. Will probably end up getting the pro version later since I do want one for the switch in general.

i made a call to Nintendo customer support for sommit with my 2DS XL and they have a robo-message playing saying "customer service representatives are not able to sell the Super NES Classic"

those poor CSR's must be getting earfuls, lol

So wait...there's the old 8bitdo SN30, then there's the SN30 Pro with added sticks, and now there's an SN30 2.4G with a weird dark gray color scheme coming out in Dec?

I like the look of the original SN30 pictured above. Is it still being produced? Do I have to buy the controller and receiver separately?

The buttons on this feel much better than on the SNES Classic Controller. The buttons on the SNES Mini controllers have a better feel to them when pressing them, they aren't as soft/mushy.

Apart from that, only the plastic materials used for it look a bit different (colour-wise).

Snes30 and sfc30 controllers from 8bitdo paired with their retro recievers for the nes classic updated to the newest firmware that gives compatibility with the snes classic. I tried it out and I can't notice any lag. To go back to the home screen takes a tap of the down direction and select. It's amazing.
I’m using it too. It’s great. Just ordered my 2nd retro receiver.

Man, that sounds not like it's as easy as with the NES classic. :/ I really hope they can make it work.

It took months for the NES mini software mod to be as reliable as it is now.

SNES one should hopefully be quicker given a lot of the work is already done (as it's the same board), but there are no doubt differences in the software that they'll have to work on.

The Super NES Classic Edition sports a "rewind" feature that lets you revert a game to the state it was in a few seconds before. The feature isn't exactly easy to use, though. First, you have to hit reset on the system itself to go to the system menu, then tap down to the Suspend Point and tap X to enter a rewind menu (you can also choose to rewind from previously saved Suspend Points). There, you can choose to go back up to roughly 40 or 50 seconds—the exact length seems to vary depending on the complexity of the inputs and game scenes. The L and R buttons can jump back and forth through the rewind menu at 10-second intervals, but more accuracy than that requires letting the recording play out in real time. Once you've chosen the point to resume, though, it takes only a second to jump right back into the gameplay from that moment.

Shamelessly stolen from Arstechnica's review.

Its a SNES pad fest yes. The pad comes with a receiver. Important note for the newly announced SN30 2.4G is its not bluetooth but runs on wifi and will work with SNES mini only. I have one on order but not out till december :(

Played the following yesterday:

Street Fighter II
Mario Kart*
Super Mario World
Contra III*
Super Castlevania*
Super Ghouls n' Ghosts
Super Metroid*

Never played the titles with asterisk before. In LOVE with Super Metroid and Super Castlevania! Going to finish all the titles in the upcoming weeks; what a collection!

The cords are definitely short but I have extension cords from NES Classic days.

20+ years of patience finally paid off!
