Yeah, i took your post as agreeing with my sentiment of "who cares if it was an automatic, a semi automatic, a legal automatic, an illegal automatic - it was a gun."
The issue is with guns. Had the guy been wielding a legal SMG and firing into a crowd of people, the number of casualties would maybe have been lower, but it would still be an immense tragedy.
The the caliber and fire rate of the gun - imho - is a factor that has very little relevancy here.

That's not correct. From several sources it keeps being stated that the gunfire lasted at least 10 minutes.

It's unfortunate but that's what happens when things like that become a common occurence.
We have brown people terrorizing different countries every two weeks or so in Europe for some time and they barely make the news now if the death toll isn't high enough. Not even thinking about some counter measures.

Hopefully at least America can sort their gun laws.
