Mass shooting at the Mandalay Bay Las Vegas; 58 dead, 500+ injured.

Waking up to this news is utterly chilling. On top of the damage the hurricane season has caused there is now what is already being called the worst mass shooting. I have no words that could ever express how horrid this all is. At this point I can only hope those that are injured do not join the dead.
 
Posted in here earlier, but wanted to express my shock at this.

Woke up this morning and heard about a shooter being killed but at that point there were no numbers/fatalities confirmed.

Check back and see the death toll rising massively.

Really awful stuff :(

Was labeling the ex of the woman they were looking for as the shooter instead of the guy she was currently with. The ex has a lot of anti-Trump activity on Facebook so they were pushing that as the motivation so essentially linking country music fans as the type that would support Trump and him going after them. One of two guys that were not the shooter that were being spread around. The other was a sex offender with the same name as the shooter but he was younger.
 
Just woke up, how very sickening. My heart goes out to all the families. RIP to all the victims who passed on. No where is safe. :(

Well I guess that's a possible motive.
 
And still, Trump will continue tweeting more about NFL or "fake news" this week despite what happened in Las Vegas. Priorities, right?
But if he does, I hope people (especially GOP or republicans) won't be all "oh, he's new at this" bullshit.

I've been playing Danganronpa (throw a high school class together at the apocalypse and have them kill each other for sport) almost the entire night and though "well, at least when I go to bed I won't have to be as miserable when I check the news."

But this... just... ugh. Real life always manages to be worse than fiction, unfortunately.

And, uh, I'll assume Trump meant "deepest sympathies."

Yes, this one is particularly tragic. No one is disputing that. However, the focus on that one point about fully automatics, how the shooter possibly obtained one or modified it to be one, etc. will keep people in the mindset of kicking the can down the road for banning other classes of firearms which (despite justifications for owing them like for home defense) are more commonly used for mass shootings and are vastly easier to obtain in this country, which is the main reason why we have so many mass shootings — 1 avg/day this year per that earlier tweet.
 
Already broke a mass shooting record from just last year. I don't have much else to say. Nothing is going to change in an RRR government, because those cowards couldn't even respond to children being killed.

No, you are correct. They also cost tens of thousands if you can find one.

It is far more likely he modified his gun or used grey market parts to approximate automatic fire.

Yes but its legal to own a ak47 and legal to own the full auto part. Just illegal to install it..

And the bump fire which has already been mentioned is only not full auto fire on a technicality.

You don't need fully automatic AR to do this kind damage. Semi automatic does just fine and is even preferred for maximum accuracy per shot.

Weapon bans and restrictions should be made at caliber and weapon type level, not just by if it's full or semi automatic.

I said it on the previous page but I wasn't talking about gun control, but some of the unneeded sarcastic remarks going on. All they do is agitate people and cause arguments. People do care about was has gone on here, look at the death count and injured.

These types of guns should be banned. What normal citizen need full automatic rifles? You don't need it. Please don't attack me for my opinion.

RIP to victims. That is a lot of families grieving.

And sadly nothing will change on the gun issue even as more and more people die in larger and larger mass shootings.

Yeah or you can google as I did and find a site that takes a credit card and sends you a mod that's legal including a handy link to an NRA page that you show to any frustrated cop.
