Destiny 2 |OT2| Leviathan Wakes (Spoiler Tag ALL Raid Discussion)

I should know this already but concerning mods if you put say a "Class abilities recharge faster when using a Void subclass" mod on both your Helmet and Chest pieces do they stack?

They do but even then are extremely lackluster. 2 class ability mods on dodge makes it go from 25 seconds to 19.

They do, but there are diminishing returns.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8rqsf3SVII

Kinda embarrassed that this whole time I thought the "Class abilities.." mods were all inclusive concerning a subclass's grenade, melee, and utility (I thought they gave an improvement to all those just not as big as say a specific grenade or melee mod) but in reality it's just the utility.

So, I guess without going for anything super specific the best option would be one mod each for grenade, melee, class, and recovery improvements.

It doesn't sound like a lot on paper but in gameplay it could make a difference in life or death especially with Rifts and Barricades.

Yeah, it could once or twice in certain situations. Personally I'd just like to see more noticeable differences when using mods.

I remember grinding to get pocket infinity. Took forever to get the quest and by time i got them they had both been nerfed. Didn't get the vex until year 3.

The nerfs were unnecessary. The game needed op guns like that. They shouldn't have been allowed in pvp. Bungies refusal to keep them separate was an issue since day 1 even back then.

And the first thing you'd see is a new wave of complaints saying those who had them deserved to enjoy the effects in both pvp and pve. When the vex was nerfed that was exactly the argument presented quite frequently over on the subreddit.

I'll join, can be 304 Warlock or 305 Hunter

Thanks for your guidance and patience, Grave.

Even though I'm familiar enough with Calus that I understood the mechanics and what to look out to, it's still really insightful to see how a good leader guides the team to better play and understanding.

Sorry I couldn't do better.

Not trying to be an asshole here, but if you join a GAF Raid, don't get mad at others who are learning

Just cause you want a smooth easy run, sometimes helping guiding others, your fellow GAFfers pays off in the long run

Its a poor showing that you dip cause people need to learn some of the finer intricacies of the Raid mechanics

As the proverb goes "Feed a man a fish, he will be not hungry that day, teach a man to fish, they will never go hungry again"
So use that, make new friends, in the long run, those guys will remember you and help you when you might need something

I stayed and taught, we might not have beaten Calus and gotten Phat Lewt and all that jazz, I'm proud 3 GAFfers are now more experienced at that encounter and just slight adjustments in weapon loadout and call out department, but every try we progressed

We started where no one knew how to do call out properly to reaching skull phase constantly within say a Hour

Thats huge fucking progress
A GAFfer learned how to be the "Home Team" and cover his "side" and 2 particular areas of interest

You can't join and within 15-30 minutes just bounce cause you think the group can't perform

Please don't do that to other GAFfers

I understand if it was a few hours and you were thinking this was a Raid crew that knew the ins and outs and still wiping, that stress I know

Pay it Forward at least, you never know who becomes your buddy in the long run

I’m about to start my 3rd character and I’m dreading it. I know I have the solo mission but after that, what’s the fastest way to hit level 20?

I nearly reached 20 just doing the campaign again, then did events. You level up quick from them. But question...did I not have to do the campaign again? Can I do raid and such without completing main missions if I hit 20?

I'm about to start my 3rd character and I'm dreading it. I know I have the solo mission but after that, what's the fastest way to hit level 20?

During my first playthrough, once I hit Level 16 I ran four strikes in a row which took me all the way to Level 20.

For what it's worth I think strikes unlock at Level 12 or so.

Want to do an opposite way?

Try GraveRobberX's Public Event and Chest farm EDZ only

Just keep opening chest in Starting EDZ area.
Like just meet Devrim, don't even start the 3rd mission to meet Hawthorne
Also send a Sparrow over, it will help a little
Keep doing public events, keep murdering everything like a homicidal Guardian

You'll keep getting drops

Do all 3 Lost Sectors, every 15 minutes or so
XP, Loot, glimmer
Repeat

I know boring, but don't have to do it in 1 go

Just keep going, you'll hit 20, PL 200+
Then you can fucking steamroll through main campaign, bypass everything where respawn is restricted

I did that, beat campaign in 3.5 hours 1 sitting. I was PL 270+ lol

Once your 20 send a weapon set or best Weapon for each category to new guy, you just jumped a fuckton of PL and you blue will be -10 current PL, Purple -5 your PL

Then do your Milestones and keep going up the ladder of PL

Thanks everyone. It’s so annoying having to do it 3x but it’ll feel good once it’s over.

Buy a couple Fireteam Medallions from Eververse and do some Public Event grinding for a couple of hours. I got my alt character to max level in a couple of hours. I was getting something like 3000+ XP from heroic public events.

I got my Titan to 296 within a week thanks to some weapons I moved over from my Hunter, EDZ tokens and the Call to Arms quest you can get fairly early. I also bought some Exotics from Xur to help boost my light.

I’ll try that. Thanks Grace! Will the fire team XPZ Boost work on my new lo level character?

Considering you still gotta do strikes, patrol and crucible matches to unlock access to the NF, call to arms, etc...

Is it really worth it to farm to 20?

I just brute-forced the campaign, do the required strikes/patrols, and end the campaign at level 19/20 naturally.

The campaigns are easy anyway, having a high PL doesn't make it that much faster... I think? You shave off like 20% of a normal mission run?

I got my Warlock to level 300 in 15 hours. 10 hours for campaign + strikes/etc. 5 hours for milestones.

Sorry to be a pain, all. I need to remove self from that raid list ^ This much time passed I won't be able to get much of the raid in, so you'd better go in with someone with more time.

Do the story mode and public events. As long as you make it to level 16 To meet the requirements of the last few levels you will hit level 20 when you beat the game from Zavala hooking you up.

Well that comes with the campaign, those things you have to do
But if your overleveled all Loot gotten has to match your PL

So if your overleveled, and start campaign, once your asked to do the requirements asked
Strikes will drop blues up to 265,i f you do it rught
Same for Lost Sectors
Patrol is just for Tokens, but getting Heroic PTEs done you will get good Rare Loot to slot in, which will get quickly replaced

My thing also gets you a hoard of tokens in the process so, you can hit 260 and just drop token packages per 20 tokens and earn Legendary Gear for said Alt

I know it's sounds crazy, like getting the cart before the horse, but this cart come buffed up in "carbon fiber", that Horse will be running but your cart will be light yet strengthful
(I got stop with these apologies)

Also im Grave, not Grace >=[

Unlike D1 this game forces campaign completion since Tower and Milestones will be mostly locked behind it until then.

Besides completing campaign automatically bumps you to 20 and you’ll finish it at around 17 if rushing so blitz through campaign is probably easiest way. You’ll need to be 11 for Io and 15 for the final part so it might require a bit of Public Event grinding to catch up.

Applause. Whole heartedly agree with these sentiments.

Yeah, that way gets more tokens, true.

Mine is basically:
- rush through story
- clear milestones that give legendary rewards, but don't claim them
- complete story ; reach level 20
- transfer all the best weapons
- go do some a few PTEs to drop higher PL armor
- reach PL of approximately 240-250 from overpowered weapons and mediocre armor
- cash in some tokens to get your PL to 270+
- cash in on the legendary rewards/story engram
- do milestones
- cash in on powerful engrams
- pray to RNGie that the drops give you a balanced loadout
- hit 290-300

Destiny 2: Coldheart vs. Sweet Business vs. Merciless & More - Calus Damage Comparison

Coldheart doesn't actually have a huge edge on the field.
Snipers are actually pretty good.
Auto Rifles are shockingly cromulent.

I'll still go Coldheart/Cluster Rocket because I have them at high light and like rockets for majors, but ARs are fun so I'll be using those more.

Coldheart is fun to use though

Ghostbusters, streams crossing, buzzing sound going off, fucking laser light show and battle with the boss
Almost Big Trouble in Little China battle

Thought that was a super interesting video. Coldheart is a lot of fun to use, but since I typically stay in the Throne room as my role, I like the double assault rifle + Merciless loadout.
