Gran Turismo Sport vs Forza Motorsport 7 comparison with the Corvette C7

why does forza look so choppy? keep and eye on the distant tree lines in both games, especially around corners. GTS looks smooth as you'd expect from a 60fps game, but forza looks jerky as hell. was the footage captured at 30fps?

Now let's do a wet track comparison... oh wait we can't. ;)

On a more serious note, I'm not a blind Forza defender, I agree that it could look better, but we should remember about a few things:
- Forza will support more cars during the race
- Forza now has dynamic weather and time of day, we haven't seen any weather footage from GTS (not counting night races)
- Forza has more tracks and a shitload more cars in the game (to be fair they've reused a lot of assets but it's still a lot of content)
- Forza Motorsport games always offer steady 60fps and the new game is exactly the same, steady framerate even on the oldest XONE models

You also forgot Forza has Microtransactions / Loot Boxes. :)

Sorry couldn't resist that one. Forza still looks really good, no doubt about it but the Car Models and lighting in GT really are something else.

The footage has clear framedrops at some points. It says it was recorded on PC at max settings, so I'm guessing that it's recorded on a PC that can't really handle max settings. It's definitely not like that on console obviously.

I would be interested in GTSport if it had a tradtional single player mode, but it doesn't look like it does unfortunately. I looks indeed look visually great though.

On topic, after resetting a few times I got a decent ToD. Picture here, not photo mode just a screen grab:

Lighting in Forza 7 just looks so flat and unnatural.

I thought this garbage was confined to its own padded cell, aka the racing graphics face-off thread.

Its nice to have a bunch good looking and fun racing games dropping. The arguments over which is prettier, and which has the best looking track-side trees are missing the point that Project Cars 2, Forza 7 and GT Sport all look pretty fantastic. If you genuinely love racing games surely thats the takeaway? The pissing match over which makes for the prettier photos is silly.

This thread went exactly where I thought it would, the fanboy knives are out.

Let's be honest ... it's not a very good comparison video, and you can't really make a judgement based on it.

Theres no even place to discussion.

Your grammar and spelling are mangled, but clearly, there is a place to discuss a comparison between the two games. This thread is one of those places.

Thread is already embarassing from the first page. Good job.

Both games look great. Racing genre in general delivered some incredible hits this year.

I have seen both games in an LG OLED 65". Forza looks better. Theres no even place to discussion.

I'm simply responding to your comment about people really wanting GTS to look better. If that were the case, then why would someone use footage of the game in an incomplete state? Wouldn't you want to show it in the best possible conditions?

Agreed....the sounds are phenomenal in GTS. Never really been a fan the Forza sounds, kinda arcadey to me.

You know what these cars actually sound like right?
GTS sounds are better than 5 or 6, but engine sounds in particular are still weak.

Pc footage. The pc version has severe performance problems.

Lighting IRL looks so flat and unnatural, I wish God would turn up the saturation dial.

How do you jump to saturation differences when people are talking about lighting? There's a big difference in lighting even if the games would run in B/W.

Other than Forza's plastic cars, I've always found the GT games to over embellish the tracks and environments.

Like I've got news for you, tracks IRL look boring too.

Lol how does a series that comes out annually (if you count FH) look better than a game in a series where the last iteration was 4 years ago?!?

Sony needs to shake up Polyphony for real.

Appreciate the other videos from Forza the users have posted. In all of the 'day time' videos though, the lighting looks incredibly flat and dull. It seems like they put most of their focus on rendering the dusky-rainy environments as well as they could and copy pasted last year's code for the rest.

Tell me more....

Exactly what I said. I do not think any other racing game matches PD's lighting engine. Therefore, I do not think anyone should be surprised when gamers, behind whatever game they personally like most can still say PD's lighting is the best.

I grew up right at the Nurburgring and I think I'm qualified to make the assessment that GTS' GT3 cars do not sound weak.

Does polyphony still do ALL their car modeling in house? It's evident that they have a lot of love for their games, but maybe they bite off more than they should. I'm sad this one isn't a proper GT7 but I'm sure it will still be a blast.

Or maybe the PC used here is capable, but the PC port is shit and has performance issues like mentioned in several PC reviews that has resulted in low scores in those reviews.

Where I live it's definitely not flat lighting when the sun is out.

Oh wow, GT looks so much better in every aspect, as a casual fan I feel I've been betrayed by people saying Forza Motorsport "took the racing sim crown" these past years. Blind belief makes the whole world blind, as my teacher used to say.
I'll definitely be looking to pick up GT Sport in 3 years once its apparent there wont be microtransaction, a GT 7 and the price has massively dropped.

I was under the impression that Forza always beat GT in graphics. Quite the difference to the contrary there.

No, that's gameplay. GT has always been good looking, and Forza has always looked ok. Forza has been more fun to play for years though.

Lol. So without playing it, and going off a YouTube graphics comparison video, you've made your assessment of both games and decided which is better?
