Forza bringing a knife to a gun fight.
GT is next-level graphical fidelity and PD are best in business at it.

K.O. win for GT Sport here. Not only lighting, but also track detail.
The king is back?
I've been worried about this, but at least one person said they noticed nary a drop during the beta.
The king never left.
WOW! The way Forza 7 reacts to the road, the vibration and up and down movement of the road and the car, and how the car reacts to it is LIGHT-YEARS beyond GT in this video. It's very visceral looking and adds another layer of depth and connectivity to the experience. It feels connected to the road.... almost real. Very, very impressive!
GT almost seems to hover along with not much real movement , so it comes off as disconnected and stale to me. Clearly missing this aspect by comparison. Graphics do look better albeit too dark (in this video) but I will say, Forza 7 looks markedly better on my PC rig, but I'm assuming this is Xbox??. On my PC, I feel like the graphics definitely are as good as GT shown here, with not as good lighting (obviously, GT shines there). I have no framerate issues either. But on a good rig, nobody will be disappointed in the graphics in F7, trust me. They are fantastic. So it's more about the driving and realism to me, and I have no doubt Forza will win out on that, having played so may GT games for countless hours over the years, I'm seeing the same thing here as in all of those.
I will also add, the left to right movement and the sliding, etc, is also much better in Forza, and more realistic. GT seems very tame, neutral and lacking here. GT still has a looong way to go to get w/ the big boy PC sims (not counting Forza in those btw, but Forza is clearly better here than GT) in terms of physics (in particular, suspension, tire and road physics)... and it needs to be more raw, more visceral. You can tell by watching both side by side this and the other things I mentioned, this very obvious difference, but please also note the "sense of speed" these little things that make driving not only feel and look better, but also add to that sense of speed as well. Just look at them both, on the left it looks slow vs the right, looks fast, despite actually being the same. All of this better pulls you into the experience for that adrenaline rush.
To be clear, my impression is one of clinical staleness w/ GT. Very clean, very sterile and calm. Nothing like racing should be. I will reserve further judgment until release, out of respect, but my early impressions are "more of the same, w/ prettier graphics". But one can hope.
Edit: this is PC Forza? wow, this guy's rig SUCKS. that is not a very good representation as to what it actually looks like w/ all the graphics maxed at >100fps
I'll step out from here, as I'm not trying to pee in anyone's cheerios... whatever one likes the most, is up to them. Just dropping my 2 cents for my opinion on what I'm seeing and I don't want to get into an argument over opinions. I'm sure mine stinks as much as everyone elses.![]()
I would rather have dynamic weather and day night cycles. One reason why I chose Driveclub over Forza 6. It takes away from other resource to implement these features. Static time of day and no weather is less of a technical feat IMO, when other racers have dynamic features. I guess Im not as impressed with GTS as others due to this fact. That Forza rain gif looks better IMO. From a pure technical standpoint.
Edit:
I code GPU drivers which is another reason why I find Forza more technically impressive. Doesnt mean I know everything or trying to downplay your firsthand information from PD, please dont take it that way.
Microsofts only game and its bested by a game that isnt even finished.
Oh well, X had a good run. Hopefully they just make their next box a mini gaming PC.

No one caring about the frametimes being all fucked up in the Forza 7 footage makes me feel like an alien.
Forza 7 runs as fluid as GTS on Xbox hardware. What ever the shit is causing the awful frame issues in he Forza 7 footage isn't remotely representative of the game running on anything other than this one guys PC. It's fucked up.
And no one else even seems to have noticed.

Is that the only retort you have when shown proof that GT looks better/more life like?
Where is the proof? Where is the rain?
I'm not the biggest fan of Forza hands either and have criticized them in the past. However, they are much better than the GTS ones.
Those F1 hands are nice though.
Love that sense of speed that's depicted in the F7 video. That shaky cam doing work. Can't see why people don't like it.

So your answer is yes... lol, rain has NOTHING to do with the pic you originally quoted. But it looks like its the only way you can bring GTS down... oh and your supposed "crushed blacks".
I'm surprised this thread lasted so long. Actually no I'm notThe purpose of that video, and this thread, is to make Forza look bad and GT look good. Any effort for logic here is wasted.
Don't be so blind and look again the quoted gif that was in the post i quoted![]()
Im getting this vibe as well. Shame that lighting outweighs everything else. Even if Forza scores higher and is the better racer, graphics will be the focal point of Forza vs GT arguements. The purpose of that video, and this thread, is to make Forza look bad and GT look good. Not sound, not physics implementation, not dynamic weather, not day night transition and probably not content. A lot of which GT is missing the mark.

The guy you originally quoted was saying that cars don't look to actually be in the environment in Forza 7, and they do look to be in the environment in GTS... very likely due to GT's much superior lighting tech.
Really? I thought we were talking about the two racers in general as the thread progressed. I am still speaking on graphics and touching on other aspects. It doesnt say graphical comparison in the thread title - granted the OP opened talking about it. If a mod tells me to correct my direction, Ill do it. Until then, Ill continue to contribute to the thread. This thread is comparing GT and Forza visually speaking, save those other arguments for some other thread.
I'm enjoying Forza 7, but car models in this game are VERY lacking compared to PCARS2. They almost look cartoon like in some areas. Especially under body components and calipers. Strictly speaking on car models, the only thing Forza has is higher resolution textures for the race car sponsors. That's about it.
You know what's strange, that nobody is talking about how great GTS's IQ is, the lack of aliasing. In GT5 and GT6 you could see some jaggies on cars, dashboard and the enviro....In forza 7, you can definitely see some jaggies on XBONEX footage, but GTS has superb Anti-Aliasing on PRO. It's really impressive..From GTplanet:

Still, where were you last gen when GT had the edge on the bolded? There were excuses given even then.....I will however extrapolate on the last point "content"....I think there is enough content in GTS and they're changing things up with a new direction. I think quality more than quantity is their motif on this one, it even applies to their online racing strategy with FIA and online racing in GTS overall.....There's also nothing stopping PD from pumping more SP content and cars for GTS till PS5...I don't see a new GT after GTS this generation...and so GTS will serve as a platform for lots of racing content and improvements to what's there on day one.
I think it's inevitable that we see weather in GTS, there were already hooks in the beta's menu....Where was I? I playing GT6 because I thought it was a better racer graphically and gameplay wise.
You are right! GT6 has all of the highlighted which is why I liked it a lot. The sound was a bit of a drab, but the dynamic days and weather were on point. Like I stated, thats why I like Driveclub over Forza 6. The weather, amazing graphics and gameplay were top notch. This is why I am disappointed on the omission of this for GTS when all racers now have this. Why did you assume that I didnt play or like GT6?
I am focused on more than just lighting. Granted the sound has been improved because they have the Forza sound guy. The car models look great, but for me, as I stated, I like the weather system and cycles. I think that adds more to gameplay.
why cant you just use one full stop?I think it's inevitable that we see weather in GTS, there were already hooks in the beta's menu....
He said they look in GT on a gif at not in the same lighting conditions. Not same conditions = useless comparative.
Not for me. Thankfully GTS isn't missing the mark in physics and gameplay.Im getting this vibe as well. Shame that lighting outweighs everything else. Even if Forza scores higher and is the better racer, graphics will be the focal point of Forza vs GT arguements.

Yeah and I have asked you to show me a single gif from any Forza setting that can outshine a GT one and look more realistic several times now but for some reason you fail to do so or reply to me directly.
But sure keep calling my thoughts on how realistic these games look useless, asking me to provide impossible request while also ignoring my pretty easy ones. Its not that almost every person in this thread seems to agree that GT looks more realistic and did so long before those gif came up.
But I guess only the rain matters...
Not for me. Thankfully GTS isn't missing the mark in physics and gameplay.
