Does hacking the console and installing new games keep the save of the game already played, or is everything deleted ?
My save states from Super Castlevania are still there, so I don't think so. It works great.

Imma start modding some games with their Italian translations on my BF's Snes, gonna give it to him for christmas
...and i'm gonna get KI on mine asap![]()
It includes down+select to reset when you install, yeah.
Sure. They just picked a shitty golf game and didn't put Kirby's Dreamland 3 on there. Was anyone asking for 2 Kirby games?
I'm getting some "Access to ActRaiser 2.zip denied" error. Any idea what that is? I don't even think I have an ActRaiser 2 ROM lolOkay guys. If you want to get on this, here is an early pre-release compile that functions fully. (I'm hosting it on my webspace so you don't have to look in shady places or anything, I think I am pretty trusted here.)
Here's a quick rundown.
1) With the SNES Mini attached to your PC via USB, hold reset, turn the Mini on, wait a few seconds, then release reset. The light will not be on.
2) Go to Kernel, Dump Kernel. Install the driver if prompted. DO NOT lose this file, ever.
3) Go to Kernel, Flash Custom Kernel. Your SNES Mini is now haxed.
3a) Optional, but recommended if you aren't doing too many games. Go to Settings, Pages/Folders Structure and pick Disable.
4) From now on, simply use the Add Games button, pick your SNES ROM, fill out the details, assign some box art..
5) And when you're done, hit the Sync button bottom right.
6) Now turn the SNES off, wait a moment, then turn it back on without holding reset. The light will come on, your new games will appear.
What doesn't work right now?
Illusion of Gaia
Terranigma
Dragon Quest III
Star Ocean
Tales of Phantasia
Street Fighter Alpha 2
Far East Eden of Zero
Great Circus Caper
Top Gear 3000
Dragon Ball Z Hyper Dimension
What games exhibit problems?
Treasure of the Rudras (hi-res text is blurry)
Seiken Densetsu 3 (hi-res components are blurry)
Uniracers (opponent always drawn in center of screen)
Smash Tennis (screen stretches outside of the confines of the TV)
Earthworm Jim 2 (audio issues)
Krusty's Super Fun House (graphics corruptions)
Air Strike Force (no shadow, garbled graphics at briefing, blurry hi-res text)
Both are fine.
make sure not to ruin the whole point of this by swapping 60Hz with 50Hz relics.
Goddamn, why wouldn't Terranigma and Illusion of Gaia work?
As 2 games that'll never likely get a rerelease, I really want to play the on SNES classic.
Sure. They just picked a shitty golf game and didn't put Kirby's Dreamland 3 on there.
but is terranigma a lost cause? Or can we expect it to run later?
edit : and the other games that don't work too?

Dream Course is a dope game y'all are crazy.
Well, I tried to transfer my save and I'm getting somewhere. Perhaps someone smarter than me can help out. Any help would be much appreciated![]()
Does this work with hacked ROMs ? Like fan translated games?
I want to play Bahamut Lagoon and Ys 5 and many other Japanese games that have been translated over the years that I missed .
I am so playing old games tonight!
At a glance, the hash file is obviously not going to match your save file, so the emulator assumes it's corrupted and deletes it. The easiest think to try is to delete the hash file and hope the emulator just recreates it when it loads it, but that'd be far too convenient for us.
Let me try and see what kind of hash it is, I have to download a hex editor to this computer first.

you can take them for the sd or micro sd card of a 3DS if you have bought some snes VC games for example
Wait, are my current saves on the SNES Classic going to be corrupted if I add games?
Yep - almost anything that doesnt work natively will run that way, so dont freak out too much people. And I guess Retroarch/Snes9x will come over soon.

never because it makes no sense to do one unless you only want 10 games on it.
Anyone try Super Boss Gaiden yet? (That Super Famicom x Playstation CD homebrew game)
And is there a way to play Treasure of the Rudras with normal quality text? What's this hi-res text thing?
nes mini 30 games
super nes mini 20 games (ok, +1)
N64 10 games
I personnaly think we will get a game boy mini next year. Or maybe just a new batch of Nes and Snes mini...
super nintendo supports a 512x448 resolution (seiken densetsu 3's character select screen for example), it can also switch to this mode mid scanline which means that text boxes in rpg's can be of a higher resolution then the rest of the screen.

How blurry does it look? Better to wait for a fix?
Will it be easier to mod the console or the ROM itself? This was one of the first games I really wanted to try, so it's a bummer that it's not working properly.

BTW has anyone else noticed frame skipping issues? SMW obviously runs at around 59fps which results in a small stutter every second or so.
Load up the second level, run right, and look at the ground.
Heh, Screwattack had that exact same problem.
Scroll up.
If you're willing to deal with folders, there's pretty much no limit beyond the 300 something MB of writable memory. I've selected 96 games and that brings me to 200, but bear in mind this space is shared with savestates and such, so leave some of it free.
Here's an extreme example on the Mini NES:

Thank you so much for this, I might actually not wait for the official release and proceed to at least put Chrono Trigger in it tonight. (Because I'm an impatient fool, hah!)
Is the Custom Kernel something that will be updated upon the official release or will it stay the same? If it changes, is it something usually easy to update?
