A Reset user wants to run against Trump in 2020. His platform is nightmare fuel.

https://www.resetera.com/threads/us...-been-exhausting.72238/page-111#post-13475800
Not if Democrats hold the presidency, Senate, and House in 2020 and recognize that they're losing control of one or both chambers of Congress in 2022 anyway...

I can finally run for POTUS in 2020, so when I win, I'll be looking to do four things in the two years of control that I have:

1. Admit DC, PR, and Guam as states
2. Pack...er, I mean expand the federal courts, including SCOTUS
3. Blanket amnesty for illegal immigrants and aggressive immigration quotas
4. Massive infrastructure bill

If he even gets to the Primaries, I hope Trump utterly annihilates him.

NEW STATES

it is so pathetic that Dems are hoping for new states to be added rather than pursuing actually popular policies. anti-war platform? fuck that. medicare for all? finance reform? Pelosi has stated that everything will be watered down or rejected entirely with Pay As You Go. "how are you going to pay for that?"

so we will add new states! cos that's easy to do! certainly more realistic than pursuing any genuinely popular policies.

really shows you how entrenched they are in the status quo.

Bwahaha that NPC article on Kotaku. I had never heard of this before now but it is hillarious. How can Kotaku be so dense to the fact that they are doing the opposite of what they intend. I think we can officially call the majority of Resetera posters NPCs.

Hahahahahaha

Holy shit, I love it. It's so accurate, I can't believe it took this long for the comparison to be made. NPC is the perfect description for people who don't apply any critical thought, filter only through a political lens, and just regurgitate the garbage they hear on their TV and the internet as so-called "opinions". No one who matters on NeoGAF does this.

Also, I don't regularly read Kotaku (or any other gaming publications, for that matter), but could the author's agenda be any more transparent?

About a month ago, a meme along those lines took root on 4chan and among anti-progressive online communities.

Part crackpot social theory and part elementary school insult, the NPC meme originated from a deeply comical medley of bogus physics and stupid religion found on the messaging board 4Chan.

The two-year-old 4Chan post, despite its laughable premise, fueled a meme last month that has some scary implications.

"How to tell when someone is an NPC," wrote anti-SJW alt-right journalist Ian Miles Cheong on Twitter last month.

"What makes this marginal, stale meme built on edgelord logic worth half a thought is what the idea of an NPC speaks to."

"That this has resonated even as widely as it has is funny, but also a little scary."

Is this supposed to be journalism or...? She's blatantly telling the reader what to think. Like, how does any self-respecting person read this and not get pissed off at being told what opinion to have?

She appeared to be having an epiphany in her closing arguments but then I realised that she probably lacks the self-awareness to apply her advice to herself with the use of the term "alt-right":

It's one thing to claim that a person's strongly-held views are informed by nothing at all, but entirely another to imply that they're completely on auto-pilot. That is dehumanization, a way of reconceiving your enemies as objects, pawns, strawmen, tools. At best, dismissing large swaths of people you disagree with this way betrays a lack of empathy for people whose experiences differ from yours, and an unwillingness to consider that if a vast number of people happen to agree over something, it may be good to examine why; at best, it is a great utility for spreading bogus conspiracy theories.

But who among us can say they've never mashed "A" as a some expository NPC rambled on, wishing all the while they had the option to silence them or worse?

Do NPCs have a capacity for self-awareness?

In all seriousness, there are a lot of people who don't actually have the capacity to think. Sure they are aware of their surroundings and are sentient, but they lack an inner monologue to bounce ideas around in their heads, one study I saw referenced said something like 30% of people lack all forms of inner monologue. So if they are given a thought that aligns with their world view that is reality to them.

Id imagine this plays into Dunning Kruger, where dumb people think they know everything because all they know about a subject is all they are capable of knowing about it until something new comes along to confirm their biases. Intelligent people have that little doubt in the back of their mind nagging them that they don't know enough yet.

Resetera moderator weighs in on politics.
If you didn't believe there was bias against conservatives before, here's direct proof there is bias at a moderation level.
I am pretty sure that they would openly say that their position is decidedly anti-conservativism, so that is hardly surprising. I would even say it is OK, what is not OK is to let this bias inform bans for pretty marginal things.

Is this supposed to be journalism or...? She's blatantly telling the reader what to think. Like, how does any self-respecting person read this and not get pissed off at being told what opinion to have?
It's an editorial, aka an opinion piece. I think it is hyperbolic, but having "an agenda" in an editorial is absolutely fine.

I don't normally visit Kotaku either, but decided to read the article. Looks as if they have new buzzwords in "anti-progressive" and "anti-SJW".
I have not heard those particular terms used before. Kotaku has really gone downhill. I used to visit the site multiple times per day between 2009 and 2012. It was my go-to site for gaming news. How times have changed.

I love it when they pretend to be tough and talk about militias and revolution

It's not like Saints Row where you can run down the street bashing cunths with a purple dildo. These NPCs (thank you Kotaku) have no sense of reality.

Poor WillytheBikeGuy. They kept his thread open, but banned him simply because he is pro Trump. He posted two videos.

piPqQFD_d.jpg

And here's the line that got him banned.

And here's the reason.

QyKiFUP_d.jpg

I totally get why you guys like watching this shit now.

WillietheBikeGuy, if you're listening, I completely agree with you. They are normal people. And to make this clear, most of us are the Jack's, the Dale's, and Veronica's of this world, and not the Harry's. We are normal people.

I knew that ban would pop up here. He was not banned for supporting Trump. He was banned for making a thread in bad faith and then proceeding to troll in said thread. You can support whoever you want so long as you don't break any rules in the process. But you don't get to intentionally troll for reactions and make bait posts without getting reported. Which is what happened there.

That being said I have no doubt they will be harsh on him given his posting history. This is not the first time the guy has trolled like this.

So anything remotely pro Trump in any way is automatically considered 'bait' and 'trolling'.

Era is an embarrassment, their mods are an embarrassment, and your continually carrying water for them is an embarrassment.

No its considered trolling because its trolling. His thread and comments in that thread are clearly designed to illicit a reaction. He is baiting people into responding to him. You can't do that. Doesn't matter who you support. And like I said this is not the first time that he has done this.

Also I know for a fact he was previously banned for a week for his comments on the subject of transgender individuals. So he is likely to be banned for longer than a week or maybe even permed. So when the ban message talks about his posting history or his history of behavior it is referring to that.

How is it that liberals are the ones always accused of playing the "victim card" when you guys constantly think that anyone and everyone is trying to shut you down solely due to your political beliefs. It blows my mind.

The guy made a bait thread and filled it with bait posts. And he has done it before. He broke the rules. Its not like I am saying the mods have never banned someone for supporting the GOP or the userbase has never reported someone for supporting Trump before. I know its happened, but here they had a perfectly good reason to ban the guy. And his history of doing it played apart in that.

Your continued defense to the site is admirable, even if it is ultimately futile and rather pitiful.

Also there is a shit ton of irony in what you just stated. He was "baiting" people into responding? You can't "bait" people on ResetEra? Man, who are the people that that has shown time and again the fallacy of that statement? It is on the tip of my tongue...

He was being intentionally antagonistic and disingenuous. His line about rapists and normal people was a dead giveaway. He just couldn't help himself apparently.

You cannot openly post you are a Republican or an Conservative, hell, even a moderate there without a pile on and some made up ban reason, regardless of this person in question. Stop the theatrics, you know that is the truth, come on. Let's have at least some common ground here on this.

There are posts calling all GOP/Conservatives/Republicans or whatever you want to call them, "scum" to the point of stripping agency and dehumanizing with zero action. The other way around, straight perm'ed. You know it, I know it, most people applying actual common sense knows it.

The place is an extremist cesspool, not something you want to go to bat for, at all.

People do that here too? I have seen idk how many ridiculous generalizations about liberals and Dems on here. There was no action against those either. Making sweeping generalizations about either political party is not exclusive to Era. It happens fucking everywhere.

I will not disagree, the difference is, you can express it and not receive a ban for the status quo. Now if you get too personal, and attack people directly, you will either get "thread banned", warned or the like. Not insta-sniped for "wrong think in the community". Both sides here are allowed a voice to debate.

While it is off topic community community technically and kind of shilling my own thread. I wanted to point something out.

I find it funny that twitter banned so many conservative accounts yet when a man is caught on film violently assaulting a woman over a difference of beliefs and then later calls himself a hero. Twitter does nothing. So violence against women is okay if falls in line with your own political ideology? What sort of hypocrisy is this?

Here's a link to my thread. https://www.neogaf.com/threads/toro...r-declares-himself-a-hero-on-twitter.1466624/

edit: So apparently it's just fucking okay to be on twitter after assaulting women and advocating violence towards them.

That thread already exists.

I know you are the RE PR guy here, but man the gymnastics you have to pull in their defense is astounding. I applaud your dedication and hope it pays off with a Gold (or reinstatement).

Dude, he got banned for posting a link to a rally. Which they then even kept open for discussion on it

You have people openly calling for assassinations of people and getting no bans or 3 day bans.

Hell, in that same thread, someone posts (maybe he can have his next rally in Austin and see if history repeats itself). Which is of course a reference to Kennedy being assassinated.

You can't even make that up. And, I get posting anything possibly pro-Trump is "trolling" there, but that is only because they have allowed their forum to go so far left and stamped out anything right and even at times moderate to make it so.

When you are more okay with assassination posts than conservative posts, you have gone too far.

Trump supporter for posting pro-Trump video and comments gets banned (duration pending).

Moderator of REEEE supporting the murders of white babies and generally white genocide, still a mod!

https://www.resetera.com/threads/fr...-hang-white-people.71646/page-6#post-13234030

Can you notice the hypocrisy there, or you are just going to re-state that we should believe you and not our own eyes?

Holy fuck.

"The lyrics don't target all babies. Just white ones. The lyrics are also sung by a black man.

Now why, in right-wing resurgence 2018, Nazis marching in the streets 2018, online interconnectivity 2018, would a black man make pointed rhetoric towards specifically white people?"

In response to a guy saying he can't relate to people who talk about killing babies.

How is that not like trending all over Twitter right now. That is amazingly assinine. I want to see Yoshi and Nobody defend that one. Holy fuck.

(Though I will break with the initial post and not say that the moderator was advocating killing them. But, he was advocating a black rapper to rap about it because the babies were white and he is black. Which is pretty fucking horrid of a take also.)

I don't support what that mod said so not sure why you are throwing that at me to be honest. I have admitted many times now that Era has many MANY flaws.
