If you read the waypoint review you know.

White straight male character, who is an asshole, who does things like slave trading and is not punished for it. Basically they are upset that they have no SJW role model they can push their agenda with.

Waypoint doesn't review games, they review for IdPol ideology and tropes.

It's a pathetic rag.

When did the bar get so low? You poor soul.
when people accepted games like Anthem and still support it,when people buy games like MK11 with mobile mtx, when people accepted MTX in general and lie to themselves that it can be earned in game.
PS:I was sarcastic,but you didn't get that

Its not only waypoint. Its Gamespot, Eurogamer. Just look at the freelancer who reviewed the game alone. it is slant and so on.

It's obviously spreading. We have seen this for some time. Hence why I pay no mind anymore to those that bring up social issues in a fictional story.

We hould not still theey have too much power with metacritc being in parts of contracts etc. They need to die out quick and publishers and developers need to stop kissing their hairy asses.

No, I guess that went right over my head. I would have to disagree that all games with MTX are instantly bad. I think MK11 is still a fantastic game...with some monetization issues. Anthem...well...yea anthem sucks and has monetization issues.

The age of the streaming Internet, they definitely need to shift away with putting so much weight in such low hanging fruit of entry "reviewers".

If there's one thing I've seen regress in quality the past decade overall, that is game reviewers.

When you have people outright not knowing a mechanic of respawning your bike, it's clear just hand any person a controller and say, "review". There is no quality control for that job anymore.

That's not just this game, I've seen these fuck ups more and more for almost every game out there now

I'm gonna hold off on this for now. I'm sure it will get a decent sale / price drop over next few months, at which time I will reconsider with more feedback available. Honestly, I'm not shocked that the metascore isn't in the 8's or 9's because there never seemed to be much hype until very recently. But I still can't shake the suspicion that the game is being docked for reasons I would find preposterous when reviewing a game of this sort.

There has been zero hype. Absolutely none. Only optimism that it would surprise and turn out good. It seems that the game has got no redeeming or distinctive qualities to make an impact in a world where games such as God of War or Horizon exist.

I think i prefer crackdown 3 that game also got mediocre reviews.
but at least that game was just classic fun .Esp if you used the gamepass.
This game seems like it is just painfully mediocre at 60 dollars Yikes.

Spot on mate. Horizon apart from the story was a 10/10 game for me. God of War though in the other hand, all of it was 10/10 and waiting eagerly for the sequel. The thing with Days Gone is that it's another zombie setting game and another open world game in a generation that is full of both. Being a Sony exclusive might save its butt from flopping at the end

I have not played Horizon, but I hear very different opinions about the story. Some seem to really dig it, others not so much.

Wow, Micro$oft really did moneyhat these reviewers to give Days Gone those terrible scores. Gone are the Days of corporate honesty, and honestly my dear, I don't give a damn.

ok am gonna make a final comment here. personally I have mainly played on playstation since ps1. well I bought ps1 when ps2 came out and ps2 when ps3 came out and so on. tho this generation has been the worst in Sony''s history if you look at it from an objective games variety + review scores point of view.

Days Gone is the point where people are getting tired of Sony copying ubisoft game design and adding their own cinematic take on stories. I think thats enough. they really forced it. god of war became a cinematic third person game. fine, we have the last of us, fine, we have uncharted, eh, fine, we have that new sucker punch game. fine. I mean you gotta start making something else at this point no?

you made a studio of 50-130 people make a game they are incapable of making because you want all of your studios to make AAA games that have A TON OF WORK into cinema features and story. which is why this came out the way it did.

your studios can't fucking all do the same shit. they can't all make the same genre. the same game design. this is what happens. not everyone can do the same thing.

This game has looked mediocre since it was first announced. The gimmick has been having a lot of zombies on the screen. That was done years ago with dead rising. Nothing else about this game looks good

I feel bad for Bend, they can't quite break from B tier. With no handheld in sight i they might get canned
On the other side DaysGone might be profitable enough to justify Sony keeping them around, for all we know the studio works on a modest budget compared to other 1st party.

Another example why this game got bad ratings

Yeah I wonder where this comes from. Mabye from the TV series that this game was highly inspired by

With the success of RE2, god of war, and the upcoming TLOU2, we are due for a remergence of tightly designed, well paced, linear to semi linear single player games. Open world games are destined to crash, even tho it may not seem like it yet, cause their sales are still solid. But their bloat, poor pacing, gaas, repetition and time commitment are inherent to their design. All of which, a substantial amount of gamers are getting fatigue from. Games shouldnt be work. I think just a few years ago, a title like days gone wouldve had a good reception, now things are really turning sour for the genre. Even the reception of RDR2 amongst gamers (not critics) is pointing towards some big changes happening.

they were told to make this by Sony. 1000% sure. I would bet money on it

this game started development in 2013. the year TLOU came out.

I just finished playing Days Gone and I can confidently say it's worth the MSRP price of just $59.99 so go now and buy it in GameStop stores near you to receive your day one edition bonuses..

ACG liked it pretty well (story and world).

This is one of the only sources that I actually listen to. I like his style and honesty. He did call the game a "wait for sale" so I think that pretty much aligns with other reviews except he is far more positive than what is being thrown around here. Don't know why reviewers feel compelled to trash a game and then give it a 5 or 6... trash a 1-3 maybe a 4.

I know some people here were defending the game left and right. I think the general populace can sense when a game is off from trailers and videos. Just like we can for movies. Now this game did have many trolls but also had many people on their high horses blindly defending the game too. This game just never could pull itself together from initial reveal in my eyes. I will probably eventually play it but I will do like ACG... maybe wait for a deep discount.

FYI he did say World War Z is a buy. I haven't followed that game but it is interesting to see the contrast of 2 zombie games released in the same timeline.

This is amazing. For once we're seeing the Sony fanboys defend something like Xbox fanboys defend something and its absolutely incredible to watch. I'll get this in a couple months. Still on Division 2 on my Xbox One X.

Dude, you are a broken record, and this will not be your final comment here because you just can't help yourself.
