Well, I've been lurking and posting on GAF over for over 12 years now and the golden days of internet forums are definitely over, but that doesn't mean people can't have decent discussion here. But for fast paced boards like ResetERA it's a race to the bottom as far as disseminating and discussing news goes.

In the current climate I'd say that the "scoops" are more of a negative thing anyway.
Imagine Nintendo Directs, E3 presentations and those State of Play presentations that Sony do without ANY leaks in the build up?
As secretive as the Death Stranding reveal was, the release date and pre-order details were leaked 24 hours beforehand and that kind of does take the shine off any announcements.
E3 is usually particularly bad, where every surprise is "spoiled" beforehand and then people whinge and moan because there were no big surprises.

I'm okay with a discussion forum that is more of a community instead of a news-forum. While the "golden days of internet forums" are behind us, you'll notice the forums still remaining from that time period are the ones that have a close-knit community, not the ones that've managed to keep up on all the news-posting. Almost as a rule, the websites and forums that were built upon fast dissemination of info are short-lived and do not often result in a tightly-knit community. Do you expect the internet to lament when N4G finally bites the dust, for instance?
I don't need "leaks". That well was poisoned long ago. I'll just take game information and decide for myself. Adam Orth was a saint and a mad prophet and he helped "red pill" (to steal a ideological/political term) a lot of gamers to what the gaming corporations were up to.

Imagine being a Conservative knowing that you only had a 3.5% chance of winning the election, because the other 86% of the population will only vote left-wing no matter what?

We see the exact same trends with the American election. U.S elections are determined by demographics, not party platforms.
Me personally speaking, I hate both parties right now. I will probably vote Conservative just because they're the only ones who are not turbo SJW/identity politics but the beliefs are still nearly all the same.

How do you separate politics and Resetera? That was how the website was founded.
They inject their own political bias in moderation which has lead to right-wing/centrist voices being censored, but extreme left leaning ones being allowed to flourish.

Not all enbies identify as trans (since many aren't transitioning from one thing or another, they just are), I don't anyways despite HRT, I just cisn't.
