I'll never understand people who campaign for someone to get fired. I guess it's the only way they have to hurt someone distant who they have never meet. The term 'hate speech' was supposed to refer to those kind of things (I don't know why it has come to mean "anything said by someone I don't like").
If I suspect someone committed a crime, I'd ask for justice (which means due process, including a trial). If I have a personal stake and the justice system fails to reach the result I want, there are ways to fight the system. But the idea of going straight to the person to do physical or psychological damage (such as getting them fired) would not even cross my mind.

When someone who is actually successful in their chosen field steps up and makes an accusation I'll give them some credit because they will have something to lose.
This latest round of "victims" however... not so much.
And no, making an accusation on Twitter/social media is not a high-risk strategy because the way the culture is right now stacks the deck so hard against the accused there is never any blowback. People will join in the condemnation without knowing for sure because publicly standing against it will put them in the mob's crosshairs too. Its a climate of fear.
Another tell for me about how messed up things are is when the people close to the accused instantly capitulate and cut-ties the second the allegations are made. So, we're supposed to believe that they have flip-flopped from being completely oblivious to a position of certainty of guilt almost instantaneously? Really?
Was this an "open secret" all along? Were they enabling/hand-waving it off until it became a public embarrassment to them? Or were they honestly blind-sided by it all? Whichever way you slice it, this is not a good look for them...
But of course, so long as they cower before the mob, and spout the appropriate verbiage, meh... no questions get asked. Which you'd kinda think SHOULD be asked if these allegations were being considered in good faith.
