It's not a walking sim. There are way too many mechanics and too much gameplay involvement for it to be a walking sim; it's a mix of hiking and survival with problem solving. There is also challenge, death and penalties involved, two things which walking sims don't have. I can understand people not liking it as it's definitely not for everyone. Also saying those who don't like it "don't get it" is bullshit, it's not a matter of getting it or not. It's just a style of game that some people will enjoy, others may grow to enjoy and many will find boring. It's cryptic, pretentious and weird with some cringeworthy dialogue and terminology. But for those who like it, such as me, it's compelling and unique.
I don't get why people are so hostile towards it on here. If you don't like it fair enough, a lot of people don't and won't. But hey, it's a rare opportunity these days for a game designer to have complete freedom to make something completely different with a AAA budget.
Also those ragging on performance. Seriously? Those minor drops are during cutscenes and not gameplay. They won't effect your experience. The game looks incredible.
