I still never played the first game. I watched gameplay videos and it very much didn't look like it was for me. I may go and give it a try. But if it's a slow game without a lot of action that requires you to always be on the ball and balancing your character, then I know for certain I'm going to hate it. The question is, is my perception of the game wrong. I don't like slow plodding games or resource management games.

Seems like all reviews are in now minus magazines

For those looking to platinum the game,

1. It has no missable trophies

2. For difficulty, you only have to do 30 to 40 missions on difficulties casual or harder( personally will play the game on normal).

3. Its a 70 to 100hr platinum( depending on how you play the game, I will be taking my time so will probably take me a lot longer)

4. It has 2 online trophies and they don't seem difficult at all.

Apparently the game let's you skip action sequences/bosses if you fail them. Funny thing is that it doesn't just say "skip this part" but rather "pretend you won", which sounds like it's mocking the player for being a mega pussy. Bless you Kojima.

"Imaginary victories" :goog_relieved:
Reminds me of Doom 1 and 2 on Psone when you use cheat codes 😆

This looks really good. Never played the first one though and don't really fancy playing them both as that's probably 100+ hours. Any chance I'll just be able to watch the included recap and crack on with a reasonably good idea on what is going on?

I watched the digital foundry review and the game looks amazing. John was very highly praising the gameplay and seems like it really did completely improve in every way compared to the first game. Huge W. Might have to pick this one up asap.

According to my DS1 save I clocked up 168 hours and I still could play more. Cant wait to lose myself in this.

Good stuff. Gamespot is a piece of garbage.

Well, still is. This is not first party doing btw, so IDK what are you fucking doing. Lets keep this fanboy attitude out of the review thread please.

It's a Playstation exclusive though LOL!!!

Sony itself considers this game first-party. lol

Sony have completly funded the game and xDev, their first-party studio who work supporting external developers, have work in the game.

Plus it's running on an engine created by Sony's 1st party team.

I think that Death Stranding as a series cannot be considered Sony exclusive any more.
Timed exclusive yes, and we can also safely assume that without Sony we wouldn't have it, considering they provided the engine and enormous support.
But it's not an exclusive imo.

So when talking about Death Stranding, we shouldn't consider Sony or Playstation at all? Just act like it's on Xbox Game Pass? What are we saying here?

The game wouldnt exist if it wasnt for Sony and GG Decima engine, but I agree. This is a Kojima multiplatform franchise but thankfully Andrew House set Kojima up with a favour before he left. Props to Sony for that!

But what about this game? Why act like this game is a day one multiplatform game? Why even create this new way of thinking?

The story was quite layered and complicated, so a simple 1-minute summary will not do justice.

I'd suggest watching a longer summary video on YT for the first game.

P.S. You can finish the first game in 40-50 hours if you beeline the main story.

I watched a 1hr30 recap the other day loads I'd completely forgot or didn't even realise first time.round many years ago.

Crazy story. But very good.

Yes, it's currently a console exclusive to the PS5. I imagine for at least 6 months?

I don't know if I am interested in the game, but this song is cool. Anyone know the name of the song, let me know.

Found the song.

I kinda glad I paid more to play early. Can't wait to see how they pieced together those musical scores.

Let's leave the crazy talk out of the review thread please. Those people are mental.

Karak Karak

Do they added enough gadgets and shit to unlock for people who deliver on foot without bothering with veichles and stuff?

You know new legs, arms, skateboards, i don't know, gliders? Etc.

Or they just focused on the other 2 things?

What?
When did i say its on GP?
Death Stranding as a series is no longer PS Exclusive. You can play the first game pretty much everywhere.

We also heard some months ago that IP rights were transferred to Kojima from Sony.
We knew there was some kind of deal between them for a specific amount of games and time and we also know they funded the first game to a degree that made the 1st party studios of Sony complain for the double standards.

Second game is an exclusive, at least for now.

To be fair I'd have banned them too for citing the shit-rag that is Metro as a legitimate source.

EDIT: In case anyone is curious this is Metro's ahem "analysis":
"The central concept of postal delivery crossed with a hill walking simulator is as boring as ever."

These streamer fuckers playing TODAY, while me, the paying customer who pre ordered have to wait 3 more days?
fucking fuck these spoiled assholes.

What does this acomplish? These idiots just spoil the game. Chatters are not customers. They are watching someone else play

New to the influencing business, I see? It's how the world works these days, they're supposed to generate hype around the launch. It's a different question whether that's a good way of spending your marketing budget or not, especially in a game that's heavy on narrative. ;)

Is the walking/running fixed? I tried my best with the 1st one but I just couldn't get with the balancing mechanic.

Fixed? The walking and running IS the game LOL!

You got a link to that story round up?

What?

So, then why are you and others talking about it no longer being a PS Exclusive?

makes no sense to me and I am the customer.
I already paid for the game and I don't want to see some millionaire rich fuck play earlier than me

It's pretty obvious why this is being mentioned. Console warring never changes.

Well, didn't most reviewers flown out to Japan? I guess if I got a free trip to Japan, I would give it a good review score too.

I mean, it's probably decent, but if they weren't all paid reviews it would likely have a mid-80's score.
